Introduction. During the hot season, there is a positive relationship between the number of accidents per thousand registered vehicles and the air temperature. At the same time, an increase in the temperature and intensity of solar radiation helps to reduce the braking distance of cars. Consequently, the likely reasons for the increase in the number of accidents is a decrease in the level of driving skills. The purpose of the work is to determine the most significant causes of road accidents in the summer, the degree of their impact on accidents in conditions of high temperature and solar radiation, as well as the impact of climate installations on the increase in accidents. Materials and methods. In order to identify the causes of the increase in accidents, an expert method was used, which consisted in a survey of 28 professional drivers with at least three years of experience. To assess the significance of factors, the reasons for the increase in accidents were ranked according to a four-point system, where the number “1” corresponded to the lowest significance, and the number “4” – the highest. It was also necessary to indicate the increase in the adverse effect as a percentage in certain conditions, compared with comfortable conditions.Results. It is revealed that the main reasons for the increase in the number of accidents committed in the summer are: an increase in traffic speed, an increase in the frequency of maneuvering vehicles, an increase in the number of incorrect decisions and an increase in the reaction time of drivers. The direct effect of solar radiation, along with the effect of high temperatures that go beyond the comfort zone, is the cause of accidents. The use of climate systems leads to redistribution of importance among the reasons for the increase in the number of accidents – increases the number of accidents by increasing the speed and frequency of maneuvering, while reducing the rate of road accidents occurring in bad judgement and increase reaction time of drivers.Practical importance. The research provides a basis for developing measures to reduce accidents on the road in warm weather

Road and weather conditions have a significant impact on the occurrence of road accidents and their development as events. According to these circumstances, the system “Driver – Car – Road – Environment” identifies certain types of expertise that are engaged in determining the presence and magnitude of the parameters of the road environment that affect the development of the road transport situation. When conducting relevant investigations, the experts calculate the speed and length of the stopping distance of the vehicle, using coefficients that determine the impact of road conditions on the road traffic situation under study. One of these important indicators is the coefficient of adhesion of car tires to the road surface. Due to the lack of technical capability to experimentally determine the coefficient of adhesion at the place of an accident, many experts are forced to use values from the reference literature. This study is devoted to checking the agreement of reference values of this indicator with actual values that correspond to the conditions of driving on Russian roads. To solve this problem, full-scale measurements were made of the coefficient of adhesion of tires with a coating on more than 2000 km of roads in different regions of Russia (with different climatic and topographic conditions) and the results of field research were analyzed.

Local roads (district roads) constitute an important part of the road network in Poland, making up around 29.7 % (124,945 km) of all public roads. In 2017, 10,578 accidents, which is 35.7% of all accidents in Poland, took place on local roads. These roads are used primarily by regular users who are very familiar with the defects of these roads. This means that the effects of the low technical standard of local roads and the insufficient number of road traffic devices on the safety on the road can be partly compensated for by the fact that drivers adjust their behaviour to the conditions on the road. This hypothesis can be verified through developing dependency models of road safety measures of local roads’ and technical characteristics. The article presents the research carried out based on regression models of accident prediction. The models were developed with the use of the data on the road surroundings arrangement (built-up areas, access), road condition and the extent of signposting, including data on speed limits and overtaking as well as risk exposure variables. Due to the incomplete data on accidents and the small number of accidents, different approaches to the modelling of the number of road accidents were applied.

Background: Road traffic accidents are currently among the most essential public health issues. According to the World Health Organization, given the rapid growth of road transport globally, road traffic accidents could be the third leading cause of death and disability in the world by 2020. This article examined the role of the human factor in road accidents during the Nowruz holidays, as a major cultural event in Iran. Materials and Methods: We explored the data of road accidents that occurred in Nowruz in 2016 and 2017 in Iran. Traffic accident data concerning the Nowruz holidays of 2016 and 2017 were collected by census method of sampling and based on the report of highway police. Additionally, the frequency of these accidents was analyzed according to travel time, accident type, gender, age, education, and vehicle type in different provinces. Results: The present study findings suggested that among human factors affecting Nowruz accidents in 2016 and 2017, the highest frequency belonged to unnecessary speeding. As in 2016 and 2017, it was the main responsible characteristic for 56.42% and 55.01% of accidents, respectively. In Nowruz 2016, the provinces of Tehran, Khorasan Razavi, Isfahan, Fars, and Khuzestan; in Nowruz 2017, the provinces of Tehran, Isfahan, Khorasan Razavi, Fars, and Gilan encountered the highest rates of accidents leading to injuries and deaths. Conclusion: To control unnecessary speeding and regulations disregard, planning for culturizing and the community-level education are suggested. Besides, increasing the quality and intelligence of vehicles and the construction of sliders, vertical lines on the road, warning signs, and billboards could help reduce the rate of accidents. Creating a working group of experts in psychology, traffic, etc., to study the pathology of dangerous behaviors, useless haste, and disregard for regulations and providing solutions could also be effective.

Abstract The highest number of road accidents occurs at junctions. One of the aims of traffic organisation is to improve traffic safety in these areas. Based on a variety of indices – road capacity, points of conflict, number, and severity of road traffic accidents – different alternatives for junctions are evaluated. However, the road network has many junctions and roads serve to travel from point "A" to point "B" at a given time. Therefore, one of the most important tasks when addressing the issue of road safety is to find a rational way of improving the safety without losing the importance of the road. The aim of this paper is to analyse the impact of different junctions on the road network and basing on actual data develop a method for the evaluation of different types of junctions with respect to road class.

Spatial analysis of traffic accidents on the road to Baghdad - Cote d' Represent traffic accidents and the resulting human and material losses with significant implications for the national economy through the resulting from the steadily growing in accidents. The purpose of the preparation of this message, highlighting the importance of the road to Baghdad - Cote in between Baghdad and Khafezh Wasit and cons of accidents and the problems caused by the extent of their capacity to satisfy the need of users in the study area private towing General because this road is a product of the development in the study area , reaching Total length of road ( 172 / km) a reflection of the level of development and economic activity, which reached the region as well as the fact that this road is the basis for the implementation of many projects of economic and development across the two provinces and Iraq also aimed message to determine the extent of the impact of geographic factors positively and negatively on the network, in order to finding the relationship between the road as a phenomenon of geography and the surroundings of the elements of natural and human in its schedule, and the aim of this study was to determine the characteristics and features and follow the development dimensions of the road , and explore patterns in the light of the changes spatial in the  territory of the study and evaluation of geography as a reflection of the extent of its development economically and socially in the study area,In order to achieve these goals varied ways curriculum known followed by the researcher , in keeping with the nature of the topics in the course of the search, The study of traffic accidents on the road to Baghdad - Cote d' distribution and causes and effects that appear as a result of such incidents so contained study carries four chapters and ensure each chapter , including a number of detective first chapter three detectives , first , for example , use historical approach when pursuing the origins and evolution of roads and the second part the use of the curriculum fundamentalist , which dealt with geographical factors that have affected the road network , which turned out to be an impact and role in causing the accident and then in Section III of the research study of human factors and their impact on the way the study area and traffic accidents.

Road accidents are one of the causes of disability, injury and death. As per the latest road accident data released by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH), the total number of accidents increased by 2.5 percent from 4,89,400 in 2014 to 5,01,423 in 2015. The analysis reveals that about 1,374 accidents and 400 deaths take place every day. Every single year, it has been estimated that over three lakh persons die and 10-15 million persons are injured in road accidents throughout the world. According to the analyses, statistics of global accident indicate that in developing countries, the rate of fatality per licensed vehicle is very high as compared to that of industrialized countries. A road stretch of about 500 metres in length in which either ten fatalities or five road accidents (involving grievous injuries/fatalities) took place during last three calendar years, on National Highways is considered as a road accident black spot according to MoRTH, Government of India. In the present study the identified black spots of Haridwar and Dehradun city were included comprising of a total of 81 black spots out of which there were 49 black spots which were identified in Dehradun followed by 32 black spots in Haridwar. The present study was an attempt to carry out the prioritization of these identified blackspots with respect to the factors that were considered to evaluate accident prone locations on the road. The identified black spots were then prioritized using the classification scheme (ranking from low to high). The study reveals that the advantage of using this approach for prioritizing accident black spots on roads is that it requires very less additional data other than the road network maps.

Climate change is reflected in changes in average weather conditions and the more frequent occurrence of extreme conditions. It also affects the field of road transport and shows impacts both on traffic and road users as well as on the road infrastructure itself. The main objective of this work is therefore to evaluate the impact of climate change on the performance of road infrastructure (pavements) and to educe recommendations through proposals for adaptation measures. The impacts of climate change on road infrastructure result in changes in some road design parameters (average temperatures, radiation index, etc.). The different cases of cracking (fatigue or other) are assessed separately using degradation indices for each layer composing a pavement (surface layer, base layer, stabilized layer, etc.)

Despite the economic transformation in Russia, and the decline in the development of certain industries, the stability of the existence and development of social and economic relations depends on the freight and passenger turnover of the country. Shipping and passengers on public roads tends to increase, which leads to an increase in the proportion of all types of road transport on the road network. Transport, in addition to the positive aspects for the social and economic sphere, also has negative sides, in the form of a large number of traffic accidents, congestion situations and environmental pollution. At the present stage of the study of these negative aspects, ecology plays a special, important role, protecting the environment from the negative impact of transport. There is a need to protect the roadside area, which is able to provide cut-off of emissions of polluted substances into the air and a kind of noise and vibration protection near the road. This problem can be solved by creating protective plantings, since green plantings are the best are the best natural (inartificial) means of protection against air pollution, snow and sand drifts, noise and vibration, they provide architectural and artistic design along the roads. And, in addition to performing their main function - protection, they are of great practical importance along the regional and federal highways, since they have a beneficial effect on the growth conditions of agricultural crops, blocking the way for hot dry winds.
