This study aims at analyzing students' mathematics communication ability in solving word-context problems in the topic of Linear Equation System with Two Variable and describing students' profiles in each level of mathematics communication ability in solving word-context problems in the topic of Linear Equation System with Two Variable using Polya steps. This study is a descriptive qualitative study involving 20 students of grade 8th. The data collection was conducted by using observation, test, interview, and documentation. The data analysis was conducted in three stages, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that: (1) Students at the low level of mathematics communication ability were only able to complete some Polya steps. The step of understanding the problem, compiling, and carrying out the plan was done poorly. Whereas the action of checking the answers was not completed. (2) Students at the level of mathematics communication ability can write down steps to understand the problem quite well. However, the stages of devising a plan, carrying out the plan, and re-checking answers cannot be done well. (3) Students at a high level of mathematics communication ability can perform the four steps of Polya even though there are still shortages in doing the calculations to get answers.

Technological progress is very rapid, especially in the field of education, so teachers and students need to use technology in learning. ICT-based learning media is one of the uses of technology in education with the hope of improving the quality of learning. This study aims to determine the process and produce a product in the form of-based learning media flipbook on the material of a two-variable linear equation system in class VIII SMP. This research is a development research using the ADDIE development model. The data collection technique used is a non-test technique with a data collection instrument in the form of a validation sheet filled out by the validator. Data analysis used quantitative descriptive data analysis. Overall, the feasibility assessment of-based mathematics learning media flipbook on two-variable linear equation system material obtained an average of 85.70%, so-based learning media flipbook on two-variable linear equation system material in class VIII SMP is interpreted as very valid for use. Keywords: Learning Media, Flipbook, Material of Two Variable Linear Equation Systems, Validity

This study aimed to describe the errors that student made in completing the Two Variable Linear Equation System based on Watson's criteria. This was a descriptive qualitative study involving 29 students consisted of of 12 high-skilled students, 5 medium-skilled students, and 12 low-skilled students in 8th grade at SMP PGRI 6 Malang. The data were obtained from the types of errors that student made using the Two Variable Linear Equation System question tests and the results of the interviews based on the Watson's criteria indicators. The question sets used in this study had been verified by mathematics education lecturers and mathematics teachers. The results of this study were: a) high-skilled students were 'less thorough' at work; (2) medium-skilled students were ‘using data incorrectly at the early stages'; while (3) low-skilled students ‘did not give answers' because they did not understand the concepts of the learning materials. The three types of errors frequently made by students were errors in determining the operation to be used (mhk), errors in determining the stages of solving the question problems (mtl), and errors in drawing conclusions from the final results (kh).

One of the processes of word formation is reduplication which words or morphemes are repeated. This study focuses on reduplication in Jamee language. This descriptive qualitative study aims at finding out forms of reduplication and the meaning contained in the reduplication in Jamee. The data were collected through ethnographic interview by recording ten native speakers of the Jamee language who live in Labuhanhaji sub-district, South Aceh. They were chosen through purposive sampling. A total of 261 reduplication words were obtained during the interviews, and they were analysed using three stages; data reduction, data display and data verification. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that there are four types of reduplication in the Jamee language: full reduplication, partial reduplication, lexicalized reduplication, and affixed reduplication. The study also shows that reduplication in Jamee language can be in the forms of verbs, nouns, adjectives, adverbs, and pronominals. Despite previous studies show that there is no infix in the Jamee language, hence it does occur in this study even though it is rarely used in this language. It is assumed that it may have come into the language through the borrowing from Bahasa Indonesia.

The purpose of this study was to find alternative learning media used by teachers in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. During this pandemic, teachers competed to find alternative media to fulfill their duties as instructors and educators. The research method used was a qualitative study with a survey as a data collection technique distributed via Google forms to 275 teachers of Islamic Education. The data analysis consisted of three stages, namely data reduction, data display, and drawing and verification of conclusions. This study concluded that the education system made adjustments due to Pandemic Covid-19, one of them was learning media where previously the system through face-to-face directly became online learning. To realize this learning, teachers used various platforms such as WhatsApp, YouTube, Email, Edmodo, and others.

This study aims to determine the effect of verbal ability and numerical ability, the effect of verbal ability, and the effect of numerical ability on the ability of solving linear equation system problems. This study is an ex post facto research. The population of this study were students of class XI SMAN 9 Mataram. The sample in this study were 28 students of class XI SMAN 9 Mataram represented by four students in each class. The data analysis used is multiple linear regression analysis and simple linear regression analysis. From the results of the data analysis, there is a significant influence between verbal ability and numerical ability on the ability to solve linear equation system problems with a value of  Fhitung = 3,660 > Ftabel = 3,39. The magnitude of this influence is written in the form of a regression equation, namely Y = 24,602 + 0,140X1 + 0,224X2. This regression equation shows that if the verbal ability score increases by 1 with a fixed numerical ability score, then the ability to solve math problems will increase by 0,140;  and if the numerical ability score increases by  1 with a fixed verbal ability score, the value of the ability to solve story questions will increase by 0,225 and plus 24,602 from other factors.

This research is motivated by the lack of mathematics teaching materials that can make students learn on their own. The teaching material can be created by teachers as they are the ones who possess the knowledge about their students’ characteristics. Further, learning materials are a set of materials (information, tools, or texts) that can aid teachers and students to carry out the learning process. The two-variable linear equation system (SPLDV) is one of the mathematics materials taught to eighth-grade students of junior high school; it contains problems related to daily life. However, it is found that this material is still difficult to master by most students. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the SPLDV teaching materials that can help students learn and solve problems as well as be used as examples by teachers in developing other materials. This research aimed to make problem-based SPLDV teaching materials. The research method refers to the Four-D Model by Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semmel (1974). It consisted of defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The results showed that problem-based SPLDV teaching materials could be used in learning activities as the students and the teachers had shown their positive responses after going through expert assessments. This study also suggested that the teachers use this teaching material and adopt teaching materials for other similar materials.
