The paper presents design and development of mobile phone using Quality Function Deployment. Quality Function Deployment is one of the total quality management tools used to convert customers’ needs into design specifications. A market survey is conducted to find out the voice of customer. The Voice of the Customer is converted into customers’ needs. Relative importance is assigned to customers’ needs. A list of technical requirements that could fulfill the customers’ needs is produced. A relationship matrix is developed between the customers’ needs and the technical requirements. The relationship matrix is converted into the House of Quality. Output from the House of Quality is used in concept generation of mobile phone. Concept generation is followed by concept selection. Final improved model of the mobile phone is presented.

ABSTRACT Culinary business in Bekasi is growing more and more, both cafes or other fast food restaurants. This encourages entrepreneurs, investors to do culinary business. One of the fast food culinary businesses is the XYZ cafe. This study discusses the analysis of service quality in XYZ cafe about voice of customers to increase customer satisfaction at XYZ cafe. The purpose of this study is to determine the priority scale to increase the customers satisfaction based on the voice of customer and know what technical requirements should be given by cafe XYZ to does what customers need . The method used is the QFD, using the matrix house of quality. The results of this study are 15 Voice OF customer attributes that have also been sorted by priority scale of improvement, with the first priority being the taste of delicious and fresh and there are 8 attributes of technical requirements. Product development by integrating consumer needs, technical capabilities and resources will enhance industrial competitiveness in era of globalization. Theme of this study is application of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) to develop design of tire products with consider fuel-efficient, safe and comfortable using. Based on primary data through questionnaires, there are 9 attributes that are desirable for consumers. In addition, through the brainstorming method, obtained 10 attributes that become technical specifications that can be developed into the product design. By arranging House of Quality (HOQ), the priority attributes of product design and development are light tires (20%), thin dimension (18%), synthetic rubber (14%), soft compounds (13%) and Smooth grip (11%).

There is an important relationship between the quality of undergraduate education and competitiveness in the global economy, especially for emerging economies. Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is one of the important methodologies in Total Quality Management (TQM) to translate customer requirements into technical specifications. The purpose of this study is to apply Third Generation Western QFD methodology together with Kano model to categorize and prioritize the needs of customers to increase a graduate-level course quality in higher education. To this end, the Voice of the Customer was identified through the Kano technique that enables categorization and prioritization of student requirements. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first empirical study in the literature that integrates the aforementioned methodologies in the field of higher education. With this integration, a focused quality house was generated which includes only prominent student and technical requirements. Accordingly, the prominent student requirements, which are classified as one-dimensional needs, are found to be the ones that are mostly lecturer-oriented attributes, such as the lecturer's theoretical and industrial knowledge. The interaction of the course with the industry, such as technical trips and invited speakers, which are called as attractive needs, are found to increase student satisfaction by creating delight. The prominent technical requirements are found to be budget/funds, number of students enrolled, lecturer workload, industry trip, good communication/empathy, lecturer qualifications, and competency in teaching. The combined framework may help educational decision-makers to identify and satisfy the main student requirements to enhance the quality of educational service processes.

Desain jasa bertujuan agar jasa yang ditawarkan dapat memenuhi harapan pelanggan. Salah satu alat yang dapat digunakan dalam desain jasa adalah Quality Function Deploy Service design is intended so that the services offered can meet customer expectations. One of the tools that can be used in service design is Quality Function Deployment with the House of Quality, which connects customer desires and the company's ability to respond to them, besides knowing the company's position in competition. The study population are all customers of PT. X and its competitors with 115 people as samples through purposive sampling. Results show PT. X has not been able to fulfill customer wants or needs properly, seen from the gap between level of interest and the level of company performance. There are 7 service indicators that become customer needs or customer requirements and 7 technical requirements, although the difference is not that far, position of PT. X is still below its competitors and needs improvement to increase customer satisfaction. Keywords: Design services, QFD, House of Quality ment dengan House of Quality, yang menghubungkan keinginan pelanggan dan kemampuan perusahaan dalam menanggapinya, selain itu dapat mengetahui posisi perusahaan dalam persaingan. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh pelanggan PT. X dan pesaingnya dengan sampel sebanyak 115 responden menggunakan purposive sampling. Hasil menunjukkan PT. X belum mampu memenuhi keinginan atau kebutuhan pelanggan dengan baik dilihat dari adanya gap antara tingkat kepentingan dengan tingkat kinerja perusahaan. Terdapat 7 indikator pelayanan jasa yang menjadi kebutuhan pelanggan atau customer requirement dan 7 technical requirement, walaupun perbedaanya tidak jauh namun posisi PT. X masih dibawah pesaingnya dan membutuhkan perbaikan untuk meningkatkan kepuasan pelanggan.

Technological sophistication has become the necessity of human life, because it can facilitate the survival of human life. One of the technological sophistication that is needed by humans is the mobile phone. Mobile communication devices require electrical power sourced from the battery, when it runs out of power [1]requires a power source to restore power. Portable charger products [2]is one of the products that are always in need of mobile phone users. In this study, portable charger products have the advantage that can charge electric power just by moving it without using the electricity that comes from PLN. The purpose of this study is to determine the characteristics of portable charger products and designing products in accordance with the voice of customers obtained. In the first stage, the preparation and distribution of questionnaires to obtain voice of customer, create a technical response, create a house of quality, which then design the manufacture of portable charger products in accordance with customer wishes. Based on the research, the result of design of portable charger product with the length of 15 cm, width 8cm, thickness 3 cm and has the adhesive as long as 25 cm. Keywords: technology, phone, portable, charger, function

Philip Kotler menyatakan keberhasilan dari suatu industri jasa sangat tergantung daripenilaian konsumen, maka merupakan hal yang sangat penting untuk memperhatikankepuasan dari konsumen(2010). Oleh karenanya analisis maupun perbaikan kualitas produkjasa menjadi sangat penting dilakukan jika perusahaan ingin tetap eksis dimatapelanggannya.Penelitian ini melakukan analisis manajemen kualitas di RS Permata Hatiuntuk mengidentifikasi consumer requirements dan technical requirements mengetahui atributapa saja yang masih memerlukan fokus perhatian yang besarperlu diperbaiki danditingkatkan agar bisa mencapai tingkat pelayanan yang optimal pada jasa pelayanankesehatan RS Permata Hati. Analisis manajemen kualitas pelayanan ini dilakukan denganmetode quality function deployment.dengan menggunakan house of quality.Untuk dapatmenyusun House of Quality, daridata primer maupun data sekunder yang terkumpul diolahmelalui tahap-tahap: 1) analisis customer requirement, 2) analisis tingkat kepentingan, 3)analisis tingkat perbaikan, 4) titik penjualan, 5) analisis customer requiremen score, 6) analisistechnical requirement,7) analisis hubungan customer requirement dan technical requirement, 7)analisis technical measurement, 8) analisis relative technical difficulty. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan terdapat 36 atribut customer requirements yang menjadi faktor penilaian pasienterhadap kualitas jasa pelayanan kesehatan RS Permata Hati Duri. Ke 36 atribut tersbutdikelompokkan menjadi 5 kelompok dimensi penilaian, yaitu: tangible, realibility,responsiveness, assurance, danemphaty.

While QFD has established itself as an important tool that relates the voice of the customer to a product's technical requirements, much remains unresolved in terms of coordination among the multi-department QFD team members. In implementing the technical requirements, conflicting resource constraints between departments translate into business risk. This paper presents two concepts — circle-of-control (COC) and effort-impact matrix (EI) — to help bridge the gap between the technical importance ranking and the business perspective attached to the technical requirements. COC is the concept of feasibility analysis with respect to implementing the requirements. EI is the concept of identifying an organisation's efficiency in implementing the requirements.

The company’s product and service can be uploaded and accessed in website. It will make the customer easier to find for any information of product offered or about the company itself through company’s website. Product(s) and service(s) information of the general insurance company in the website are the important things to make their customer learn about the product, know the company and (perhaps) make a transaction on there. This research is to measure the website performance of the go-public general insurance companies: how they fulfill the customer expectation of the information and service provided in their website properly. The research uses a non-statistical method, Quality Function Deployment (QFD) methodology. It uses House of Quality tool in graph and matrices to gather the Voice of Customer (VoC) for customer’s requirements of website performance and the Voice of the Engineer (Technical Requirements), which is described for the website characteristic in terms of the function itself. Through this analysis, it will be set the development targets of the website performance of 8 (eight) go-public general insurance companies in Indonesia. It may be as an input for each company to review their website performance further.

Laboratorium desain produk dan inovasi (Lab Desprin) merupakan salah satu fasilitas di Institut Teknologi Del yang digunakan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam hal merancang dan menghasilkan produk-produk inovatif. Laboratorium Desprin memiliki aturan, dimana pengunjung harus membuka sepatu dan meletakkannya di luar ruangan. Melalui penelitian ini dirancang fasilitas rak sepatu sebagai tempat untuk meletakkan sepatu bagi dosen, laboran, mahasiswa, dan tamu yang berkunjung ke Lab Desprin. Metode yang digunakan dalam perancangan produk ini adalah Value Engineering dan Quality Function Deployment (QFD). Metode QFD digunakan untuk memperoleh informasi kebutuhan calon pengguna terhadap produk, sedangkan metode Value Engineering digunakan untuk merancang produk dengan meminimalkan biaya pembuatan. Desain dirancang sesuai dengan suara user yang diterjemahkan ke dalam House of Quality untuk mendapatkan spesifikasi yang tepat. Data antropometri Indonesia terkhusus area kaki digunakan sebagai input dalam mendesain dimensi. Perancangan ini menghasilkan rak sepatu Lab Desprin dengan kapasitas 68 pasang sepatu. Melalui perhitungan, estimasi biaya untuk pembuatan produk rak sepatu sebesar Rp.5.081.700, sedangkan untuk rak gantungan adalah Rp. 793.000. Dengan demikian, nilai yang dihasilkan desain pengembangan produk rak sepatu dibandingkan dengan desain awal adalah 1,54 dan dikembangkan dari desain pengembangan ke desain akhir sebesar 1,27 yang mana nilai ini lebih baik dibandingkan produk-produk pesaing lainnya.
