This paper presents the current characteristics inside a cutoff cavity slot probe applied to crack detection using the forced resonance microwave method (FRMM). Crack detection using FRMM has two stages: preparation and detection. In the preparation stage, the current characteristics inside the probe with a shorting plate are important for determining the crack signal and detection sensitivity. The cutoff cavity probe produces a forced resonance by adjusting a control element. There are two kinds of forced resonance: series resonance (SR) and parallel resonance (PR). Four types of current characteristics are applied to crack detection using FRMM: SR, the region around SR, the region around PR, and non-resonance. These current characteristics are discussed from the point of view of current change for crack detection. The experimental results are compared with the theoretical results to check the current state inside the cutoff cavity probe.

This paper presents a non-contact method for the detection of surface cracks in metal materials through a forced-resonance microwave method (FRMM) using a cutoff cavity-backed narrow slot as a crack detection probe without using a vector network analyzer (VNA) at microwave frequencies. The FRMM uses the deviations in the ammeter or voltmeter readings of the forcefully obtained resonance of a cutoff-cavity probe for a metal material with or without cracks. The cutoff cavity-backed narrow slot on metal with no cracks produces a series resonance (maximum current) or a parallel resonance through an external control element located on a post inside the cutoff cavity. Cracks were detected by a change in this forced-resonance state (maximum current) when the cutoff-cavity probe was scanned over a crack. The characteristic crack signal was derived from the resonance current deviation on the ammeter located on a post inside the cavity probe. Galerkin’s method of moments was used to obtain a forced-resonance state from which the crack signal of the FRMM was calculated. The experimental measurements for non-contact (remote or lift-off) crack detection are also presented.

Working in the corrosive environment for a long time, it is easy for metal pipes to produce stress corrosion cracks which will affect the use. An infrared detection method combining permeate treatment with heat-incentive steam is proposed to detect surface cracks, which then has been verified by simulations and experiments. For the simulation, pipe model including four cracks of different depth and width was constructed by ANSYS. Transient thermal analysis was made after convection incentive loaded on internal and external wall in the case of whether or not undergo surface infiltration processing. For the experiment, pipe including cracks were made the same as simulation parameters, then experiments were made using the thermal excitation system in two cases. Surface temperature distributions of the pipe were compared in two cases, the results of the study show that penetration treatment before heat incentive can significantly improve the surface crack detection sensitivity.

In this paper, I explain the problem of the dreamer in the Zhuangzi. I aim to show that no difference exists between dreaming states and waking states because we have a fluctual relationship with these two stages. In both, “we are dreaming.” Put another way, from a psychoanalytical point of view, one stage penetrates the other and vice versa. The difference between dreaming and non-dreaming disappears because dreaming is a structural process. Also, from a psychoanalytical perspective, all confirmations and negations about dreams and non-dreams leads to one point: the being, or rather the becoming, of the subject. How does this solve the problem of the True Person/True Human Being (zhenren真人)? Does such a person have dreams or not? Does the True Person sleep without dreams, as we find in the Zhuangzi? From a psychoanalytic perspective, this is not possible. To prove this, I will present few passages from the Zhuangzi and offer a psychoanalytic explanation of them based on Jacques Lacan’s theory of the fantasy and desire.

Due to the increasing volume of traffic, bridges are exposed to higher loads as it was considered during the planning phase. Therefore, a regular inspection is necessary in order to detect cracks at very early stages. The use of weathering structural steel in bridges, as well as in composite bridge constructions is an alternative to conventional bridges, not only from an economic but also from an ecological point of view, since it is not necessary to apply a corrosion protection layer and renew it during the lifetime of the bridge. Unfortunately, conventional visual inspection or magnetic particle inspection on the weathering steel bridge are hindered by the protective patina and requires development of new test methods. Within the framework of this project, a combined crack detection technique using non-destructive inspection by means of Active Thermography and by Electro-Magnetic Acoustic Transducer (EMAT) were evaluated in laboratory environments and in real conditions on bridge structures made of weathering structural steel.

The article suggests that the concept of “success in sports training of children” is integrative, including interrelated and correlated components. From the point of view of the authors, the evaluativeperformance component is one of the most necessary to achieve success. The authors propose to improve the indicators of this component through the trainer-child-parent interaction system, which consists in the use of digital technologies, as well as in the development and application of the educational program of interaction between the trainer and the parents of the children involved in “Success of your child”. The article also presents the diagnostics of the evaluative-effective component, which consists in testing children by using the questionnaire of Stolin. and Panteleeva. Testing was carried out in the course of experimental work in two stages: at the ascertaining stage (before the introduction of the educational program) and the control stage (after the introduction of the educational program). Based on the results of the experimental work, the authors made conclusions about the need for a deeper introduction into the practice of interaction between parents, their children and the coach.

In this paper, the main objective of using numerical simulation was to highlight and analyse details that are very difficult to highlight through experimental tests. The development of the simulation model was also done for predictive purposes. In other words, after validation of the model, it can be used to estimate the filter load in other conditions than the experimental ones, respectively to evaluate how the particulate filter affects the operation of the internal combustion engine. In order to achieve the desired result, the creation of the model was done in two stages, the first stage was the creation of a model containing all the components of the engine, except the particle filter in order to identify the parameters of the combustion process and pollutant emissions - model validated on the basis of the indicated pressure curves, and the second stage was to complete the initial model with a particle filter and validate it from the point of view of the pressure drop, respectively of the engine performance, the aim was to obtain a trend, respectively values similar to the experimental ones.

The paper deals with issues of high-rise building development and contemporary problems related to the formation of city development vision in Lithuania. The analysis focuses on the possibilities and problems arising in the process of developing the Special Plan of high-rise building arrangement in Klaipėda in the formation of the visual image of the city. The methodology of this Plan is discussed by the author in two papers. The present paper is the first one and analyses two stages of the plan development. The first stage is the analysis of the current situation in Klaipėda and possibilities to introduce high-rise buildings into the city morphostructure. This stage comprises 7 aspects: evaluation of the territory development from the point of view of investment possibilities; historical development of the city structure; hierarchy of values of preserved territories; analysis of the territory planning documents regulating townscape formation; evaluation of visual peculiarities; definition of visual identity zones, analysis and evaluation of important mass view points as well as evolvents of views seen from them. The second stage of developing the Special Plan constitutes efforts to define the conception of high-rise buildings arrangement on a city scale, central part scale and old-town scale. Santrauka Straipsnis skirtas aukštybinės statybos plėtros klausimui ir su tuo susijusioms šiandieninėms miesto plėtros vizijos formavimo problemoms Lietuvoje. Nagrinėjamos Klaipėdos miesto vizualinio įvaizdžio plėtros galimybės ir problemos rengiant Klaipėdos miesto aukštybinių pastatų išdėstymo specialųjį planą (SP). Šio plano metodikai aptarti autorė numatė parengti du straipsnius. Šiame, pirmajame, liečiamos dvi plano rengimo stadijos. Pirmoji – tai esama Klaipėdos miesto būklė, galimybės miesto morfostruktūroje rastis aukštybiniams pastatams; jos aptarimas apima 7 aspektus – miesto teritorijos pagal investicines plėtros galimybes vertinimą; miesto struktūros istorinę raidą; saugomų teritorijų vertybinę hierarchiją; dokumentų sprendinių, turinčių įtakos miestovaizdžių formavimui, analizę; vizualinių ypatumų vertinimą; miesto vizualinio identiteto zonų nustatymą ir svarbiausių masinės apžvalgos taškų bei iš jų matomo vaizdo išklotinių tyrimą ir nustatymą. Antroji plano rengimo stadija – tai aukštybinių pastatų išdėstymo koncepcijos paieškos miesto mastu, centrinės dalies mastu ir senamiesčio mastu.
