<p><em>The fishing vessel is the main vehicle of the fishermen to go to fishing ground and hauling purse seine especially fishing gear. Pinrang Regency ships traditionally built without calculation of naval architecture. Where the purse seine fishing gear in Pinrang Regency has length 330 m nets with a depth of 36 m. The purpose of this research was to examine the main dimension ratio in particular design and static stability of the vessel purse seine in Pinrang Regency. Method of using a case study on two types of vessels have different relative and analyzed by numerical simulation, calculate the ratio of the main dimensions and static stability. The results of this research are the vessels in Pinrang kasko model has the shape of a round bottom and slim body as well as the ratio of the dimensions of the vessels only L/D purse seine LOA 24 m more than the standard reference of vessels (encircling) in Indonesia and on the value of the static stability by the IMO, with a purse seine vessel Pinrang already has a good stability. <p>PSP 01 is a training-fishing vessel that was built in a traditional dock yard in Palabuhanratu, so it was not completed with design drawings and stability calculation. This paper discusses on determining the vessel’s suitability of design and stability condition followed by redesign of main dimension to obtain more optimal design. Simulation carried out in various load conditions and different vessel sizes to get the considerably ideal size of the vessel. The main dimension ratio and coefficient of fineness analysis showed that the vessel was appropriate as multipurpose vessel for fishing activities. Stability condition of the vessel either empty or in existing load condition met the criteria recommended by IMO with a maximum GZ was 0.33 m and an initial GM was 0.64 m. To improve the stability and fish hold capacity, the breadth and depth needed to be increased. The redesign resulted an alternative size ofmain dimensions which were LOA = 14.30 m; B = 5.14 m; D = 2.12 m.</p><p><strong>Key words:</strong> design, fishing vessel, multipurpose, stability</p>

Purse seine is one of the fishing gear that has been used by PPN Muara Angke fisher to catch pelagis fish. The selectivity of purse seine was still being researched until now . This research was conducted  determine the selectivity of purse seine fishing gear with parameter the length of Euthynnus affinis, weight and numbers catch on purse seine fishing gear landed in PPN Muara Angke. The research used a survey method with quantitative descriptive analysis. The sampling method used in this was purposive sampling and random sampling. The data collected during the research were primary data and secondary data. Primary data included the number and weight of catches, fork length of Euthynnus affinis from five purse seine fishing vessel in PPN Muara Angke. Secondary data included production data of purse seine catches from 2015-2019 and vessel data obtained from Central Port Management Unit Jakarta and PPN Muara Angke. Purposive sampling used for the number of catch, weight of catch, production of purse seine catch from 2015-2019 and purse seine fishing vessels data. Random sampling used for fork length Euthynnus affinis fish, 250 samples were taken randomly on one purse seine fishing vessel. The research results pusre seine fishing gear which was landed at PPN Muara Angke was not selective due to the percentage length of the Euthynnus affinis was worth, proportion of amount and weight less than 60%.

<p>of cargo arrangement so can they impact to quality stability of fishing vessel. The aim of this research is design and stability analysis Bulukumba purseseiner with three conditions cargo arrangement and two fishing seasons (peak fishing season and scarcity fisihing season). This research is done at Bulukumba regency, South Sulawesi province in February until April 2013 with measurements, observation and interview related of main dimension and cargo arrangement of Bulukumba purseseiner in field. Hydrostatic paramter analysis uses naval architecture formula and stability analysis uses PGZ software of three cargo arrangement conditions on two fishing seasons and then, these values will be compared with references value. The results of design analysis show that coefficient of finennes bulukumba purseseiner is Cb = 0.80 and Cp = 0.88 which its hull type bulukumba purseseiner is round bottom. Principal dimension ratio Bulukumba purseseiner have agreed with references of fishing vessel in Indonesia but it have not filled references of fishing vessel in Japan. The values of Bulukumba purseseiner stability have filled to IMO criteria of stability values. Stability of Bulukumba purseseiner on scarcity fishing season better than on peak fishing season and the best value of stability is PA-K3 condition (condition of purseseiner back to fishing base on scarcity fishing season).<br />Key words: Bulukumba, cargo arrangement, design, purseseiner, stability</p><p>-------</p><p>ABSTRAK<br />Kabupaten Bulukumba merupakan salah satu daerah pembuatan kapal kayu dan masih besifat tradisional. Musim penangkapan ikan dapat mempengaruhi distribusi muatan di atas kapal sehingga dapat berakibat pada kualitas stabilitas kapal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis desain dan stabilitas kapal purse seine Bulukumba berdasarkan tata muatan dengan tiga kondisi muatan dalam dua variasi musim penangkapan (musim puncak dan musim paceklik). Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kabupaten Bulukumba Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan pada bulan Februari–April 2013 dengan melakukan pengukuran, pengamatan dan wawancara secara langsung di lapangan terkait dimensi utama dan distribusi muatan. Analisis parameter hidrostatis dilakukan menggunakan formula naval architecture sedangkan analisis stabilitas menggunakan software PGZ yang selanjutnya dibandingkan dengan nilai acuan. Hasil analisis desain menunjukkan, kapal purse seine Bulukumba memiliki nilai koefisien bentuk yaitu Cb = 0,80 dan Cp = 0,88 dengan kasko kapal berbentuk round bottom. Rasio dimensi utama kapal purse seine Bulukumba telah berada pada rentang nilai kapal purse seine di Indonesia namun belum berada pada rentang nilai kapal purse seine di jepang. Nilai stabilitas kapal purse seine Bulukumba telah memenuhi nilai kriteria stabilitas IMO. Stabilitas kapal purse seine Bulukumba pada musim paceklik lebih baik dibandingkan pada musim puncak dengan nilai stabilitas terbaik pada kondisi PA-K3 (kondisi kapal kembali ke fishing base pada musim paceklik).</p><p><br />Kata kunci: Bulukumba, tata muatan, desain, kapal purse seine, stabilitas</p>

Research of the sustainability analysis of fisheries resources by using trap net in the coastal ofPangkep Regency was conducted on August to October 2018 in the coastal zone of pangkep Regency.This research aims to 1) Analyze the location of trap net fishing areas, (2) Analyze environmentalfriendliness of trap net, (3) Analyze the sustainability of fish resources by using trap net in the coastalareas of Pangkep district. The method used was case study by following fishing operations using trapnet directly. Analyzed of the determination of the trap net installation location was used by geographicinformation systems (GIS), analyzed the selectivity of fishing gear used the formula based on theprovisions of FAO (1995), and analyzed the sustainability of fish resources used Rapfish analysis.Results of the research showed that fishing ground of using trap net covers the coastal areas ofPangkep Regency, there were four locations that have been determined based on analysis, which wereDistricts of Bungoro, Labakkang, Ma'rang, and Segeri. Trap net included in fishing gear that was notenvironmentally friendly, so it does not support the sustainability of fisheries resources. Utilization offishery resources by using a trap net in the coastal areas of Pangkep Regency is less sustainable.

This paper discusses on the static stability performance of a fishing vessel operated static fishing gear. A fishing boat named as KM PSP 01 was chosen as an object of this research. The objectives of this research were to analyze the static stability performance and work comfortability aboard the vessel. The result showed that KM PSP 01 was good enough for operating static fishing gear, the static stability of the boat is considered to be good with enough righting arm to upright the boat after roll to certain maximum angle. Hull of the boat considered as slim. Short rolling period i.e. 3.467 sec. considered as not so comfortable for working on deck but still safe in fishing operation.

<p>Pukat cincin merupakan alat tangkap yang efektif untuk menangkap ikan pelagis. Keberhasilan operasi penangkapan pukat cincin dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor teknis penangkapan seperti kecepatan relatif kapal saat melingkari gerombolan ikan <em>(schooling),</em> kecepatan tarik tali kolor <em>(purse line)</em>, kecepatan tenggelamnya jaring sedangkan faktor lain relatif sama. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh faktor teknis penangkapan terhadap hasil tangkapan pukat cincin di Perairan Pacitan, Jawa Timur. Penelitian dilakukan pada Februari – Desember 2013 pada 57 kapal pukat cincin dengan 291 stasiun penangkapan. Metode penelitian dengan eksperimental fishing dengan mengunakan persamaan analisis regresi linear berganda dan menghasilkan persamaan: Y = - 61801,5 + 12.846,9 <em>X<sub>1</sub></em> + 14.132,5 <em>X<sub>2</sub></em>+ 358,02 <em>X<sub>3</sub></em>. Kecepatan melingkar dapat meningkatkan hasil tangkapan sebesar 12.846,9 kg pertrip, penarikan <em>purse line</em> 14.132,46 kg per trip dan kecepatan tenggelam jaring 358,02 kg per trip. Koefisien determinasi faktor teknis terhadap hasil tangkapan sebesar 87,86 %, sehingga faktor teknis dapat menjelaskan seberapa besar pengaruhnya pada hasil tangkapan pukat cincin.</p><p> </p><p><em>Purse seine is an effective fishing gear for catching pelagic fish. Some technical factors influencing success of  purse seine fishing operations are the relative speed of fishing vessel to encircle fish schools, the speed of pulling the drawstring (purse line), and sinking speed of the net, while there are insignificant effect of other factors. The study aims to determine the influence of technical factors of purse seine fishing operation on fish catches in Pacitan waters, East Java. The study was conducted in February-December 2013 onboard of 57 purse seine vessels consisting of 291 stations. Experimental fishing method was used in this study following multiple linear regression equation hence obtaion the equation Y = - 61,801.5 + 12,846.9 X<sub>1</sub> +14,132.5 X<sub>2 </sub>+ 358X<sub>3</sub>. Encircling speed increases fish catches up to 12,846.9 kg per trip, pulling speed of drawstring 14,132.46 kg per trip, and sinking speed of the net 358.02 kg per trip. The coefficient of determination of technical factors on fish catches reach 87.86%, therefore the degree of impacts was explained. . </em></p>

<p>ABSTRACT<br />In general, fisheries in Indonesia is still dominated by small-scale fisheries, one of themis the purse seine fishery based in Tamperan Fishing Port. This study aims to determine aspects of purse seine fishery based on Tamperan Fishing Port such as vessel size and fishing gear, FADs , fishing ground and catches. The study was conducted in 2012 in Tamperan Fishing Port with measurement methods and direct observation and interviews with owners, skippers and crew. The results showed that the vessel of small-scale tuna purse seine fishing based in Tamperan Fishing Port have tonnage between 28-45 GT and made of wood with length 17.21-28 m, width 6-7 m, and depth 2-3 m. Nets is used have length between 250-300 m and width 8-10 m. Fishing ground is FADs at coordinates 10º-12º S and 100º-110º E, 60-100 miles from the Pacitan Bay with distance to the location of FADs about one day. The catch is dominated by skipjack about 57.27%, followed by scad26.31% and juvenile yellowfin 10.05%.</p><p><br />Keywords: Purse seine, small scale tuna fisheries, Tamperan</p><p>-------</p><p>ABSTRAK</p><p>Secara umum, perikanan tangkap di Indonesia masih didominasi oleh usaha perikanan skala kecil, salah satunya adalah nelayan pukat cincin yang berbasis di PPP Tamperan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aspek penangkapan perikanan pukat cincin yang berbasis di PPP Tamperan berupa ukuran kapal dan alat tangkap, rumpon, daerah penangkapan dan hasil tangkapan. Penelitian dilakukan pada tahun 2011 di PPP Tamperan Pacitan dengan metode pengukuran dan pengamatan langsung di lapangan serta wawancara dengan nelayan pemilik, nakhoda dan awak kapal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa armada pukat cincin perikanan tuna skala kecil yang berbasis di PPP Tamperan memiliki ukuran tonase antara 28-45 GT dan terbuat dari kayu dengan ukuran panjang antara 17,21-28 m, lebar 6-7 m, dan dalam 2-3 m. Jaring yang digunakan memiliki panjang antara 250-300 m dan lebar 8-10 m dengan menggunakan rumpon. Daerah penangkapan berada pada koordinat 10º-12º LS dan 100º-110º BT dan berjarak sekitar 60-100 mil dari Teluk Pacitan dengan lama perjalanan menuju lokasi rumpon sekitar 1 hari. Hasil tangkapan didominasi oleh cakalang sebesar 57,27%, diikuti oleh layang 26,31% dan yuwana madidihang 10,05%.</p><p><br />Kata kunci: Pukat cincin, perikanan tuna skala kecil, Tamperan</p>

Abstract The purse seine is the dominant fishing gear operating at the Tumumpa Fishing Port with a vessel of >90%. The purse seines that have developed are large pelagic targets, with the main catch targets being skipjack, mackerel tuna, and tuna. Tuna, mackerel tuna and skipjack are important commodities for fisheries in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the characteristics of purse seine fishing gear and its catch in the Sulawesi Sea. Data collection was carried out for two years from 2019-2020 at Tumumpa Fishery Port. Indications for the use of fish resources are calculated by comparing the length-at-first-capture (Lc) with the length-at-first-mature (Lm). The results showed that purse seines are very dominant in exploiting large pelagic resources (skipjack, mackerel tuna and tuna) with the proportion reaching 78%, small pelagic (21% scads and 1% other fish). The large pelagic fishing season using the purse seine vessel occurs in May – November, with 2 peak seasons in July and September. While the small pelagic occurs in May – September, with the peak occurring in July. The size when the frigate tuna was first caught was at a fork length of 25.15 cm (Lc) and Lm in a size of 28.52 cm for females and 28.29 cm for males. Meanwhile, the first scads was caught (Lc) at a length of 21.4 cm with the length-at-first-mature (Lm) being 20 cm for the female and 19 cm for the male. Based on this analysis, it was shown that the purse seines is a selective fishing gear for small pelagic fish but not selective for large pelagic fish.

This study aims to analyze the aspects of technical, social, and economic typologies of skipjack fisheries at Nizam Zachman oceanic fishing port, Jakarta. This research expected to provide information for decision-making in formulating policies in skipjack fisheries activities, thus they remain sustainable—this research conducted at Nizam Zachman oceanic fishing port, Jakarta from August 2019 to February 2020. The method used in this research is the survey method by interviewing the respondent through questionnaires for 100 respondents. The sampling method was done randomly, and the data were analyzed by descriptive qualitative. The social typology shows the orientation of Nizam Zachman as an industrial ocean fishing port is for commercial purposes. The main productive age level of fishers ranges from 35-39 years (33%) and the last education is a primary school (46%). Regarding the work experience, 38% had been fisher between 16-20 years. The technical typology shows the fishing gear that operated to catch skipjack at Nizam Zachman are purse seine, longline, also carrier vessel. In general, 74% of the size fleets were in 100-200 GT and the length of trips in 1-2 months (48%). The fishing ground area is in 572, 711 and 712 FMA. The economic typology shows skipjack production/trip by purse seine was 54%, longline (1%) and carrier vessel (57%).
