This paper reports on the first stage of a study on the usage of electronic information services (EIS) by staff and students at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) and Leeds Metropolitan University (LMU). The study used by qualitative and quantitative methodologies. The questionnaires used at GCU were modeled on those developed at LMU. The project aimed to monitor off-campus usage of EIS, the use of passworded databases, and the freely available internet. The volume of electronic citations in students' course work and the possibility of developing routine performance indicators were also examined. Focus Groups were conducted with both staff and students between November 2001 and March 2002. These suggested, inter alia, that paramedics are the heaviest users of EIS and that paramedicine is the subject area where EIS are most integrated into the curriculum. Attitudes to the internet are extremely varied. Mode of attendance and workplace usage are important factors.

In fields with high science linkage, such as the nanocarbon field, trends in academic papers are particularly important for identifying future technological trends. The use of the number of citations allows us to predict the qualitative trends on a paper-by-paper basis. At the same time, it is necessary to be able to comprehensively discuss both qualitative and quantitative aspects in the subject area. This study aimed to detect emerging areas in the nanocarbon field using network models and topic models. It was possible to not only construct a model that exceeded an 86.2% F1 measure but also to focus on an area that could not be detected by the prediction model. This was accomplished by focusing on paper units, such as the research on the chemical synthesis of zigzag single-walled carbon nanotubes. Thus, it is possible to obtain knowledge that contributes to diversified R&D strategies and innovation policies by considering the emergence of new fields from multiple perspectives.

The aim of this paper is to identify influencers and the way they affect the behavior of millennial buyers in the process of consuming fashion goods. The paper examines the literature on opinion leaders, ranging from the origins of the concept to its developments within the context of the Internet. The shift from influential to influencer and the different types of influencer are examined and certain hypotheses regarding the role of influencers (including all the influential players) regarding fashion-buying millennials are presented. The paper presents the results of qualitative and quantitative empirical research based on focus groups and in-depth interviews with 22 university students. Findings from this research and their implications regarding the different stages of the millennial buying process are discussed.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the awareness and use of electronic information services by academic staff at Leeds Metropolitan University. This is to be done in two parts, firstly a quantitative study in the form of a questionnaire and secondly a qualitative study to further explore the findings from the first part of the research. This paper contains the findings from the first part of research into levels of use (or non-use) of electronic information services by academic staff at Leeds Metropolitan University (LMU).

ABSTRACTThis study is an assessment about the uses, attitudes, habits, skills and behavior towards ICT by young students from public high Sonora (Mexico). It also measures the knowledge of young people about the risks, their reaction to them and habits or adopting safety measures in their use of ICT. To prepare the study we used a mixed methodology based on a combination of qualitative and quantitative techniques. Quantitative analysis looked at the implementation of surveys 3,031 students between 12 and 15 years. The qualitative analysis, meanwhile, included 66 in-depth interviews and seven focus groups with students and parents. The study aims to emphasize not only the evidence that account uses, consumption and current skills of young people to the Internet but to explain what might be, in any case, the potential and opportunities that certain screens and smart devices generated in the building interactive relationships and, therefore, its own identity.RESUMENEl presente estudio constituye un diagnóstico a cerca de los usos, actitudes, hábitos, competencias y comporta-mientos frente a las TIC por parte de los jóvenes estudiantes de secundarias públicas en Sonora (México). Contacto principal: [email protected]

The article briefl y discusses four areas that should be considered when analysing the concept of cybersecurity: the legal aspect of cyberspace, the state security system, the specifi city of the media in the Internet environment, and last but not least – new virtual reality emerging in cyberspace. Connecting to the  electronic information network (internet) became the most characteristic that distinguish this era However , the long hours which young men daily spend on the internet On the other hand ,there are many people who are waiting for the chance to talk and convince them with their views This will lead the young people to be part in the project of the “cyber armies “that involved with states and terrorist organizations  This project has been able  to recruitment hundreds of people every day to work in its rank . It is very difficult to control these websites because we can see the terrorist presence in all its forms in the internet   In addition there are many incubation environments that feed in particular the young people minds                                                                                         Because they are suffering from the lack of social justice Also the unemployment, deprivation , social and political repression So , that terrorist organizations can attract young people through the internet by convincing them to their views and ideas . So these organizations will enable to be more  stronger.

The paper develops an ontological model to extract information from government legal documents and facilitate the understanding of its content. In particular, international bilateral investment agreements between countries are the subject of analysis, which aims to quantify their semantic diversity. The paper argues it as an accurate approach to extract qualitative and quantitative information.
