Minimnya exposure dalam berbicara bahasa Inggris dan lemahnya pengetahuan akan penggunaan ekspresi atau frasa kalimat yang tepat, lazim dan wajar seringkali  menjadi faktor ketidaklancaran dalam speaking. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan speaking fluency menggunakan collocations sebagai Task-based Language Teaching (TBLT). Dengan menerapkan metode  penelitian tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Research), penelitian ini melibatkan 28 mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Guru Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PG PAUD) Universitas Muhammadiyah Pontianak.  Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus yang menghasilkan peningkatan nilai rata-rata speaking performance mahasiswa secara signifikan yaitu dari 55.50 menjadi 68.50. Selain itu, persepsi mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan collocations sebagai Task-based Language Teaching  dalam meningkatkan speaking fluency sangat baik dan positif karena metode ini melatih dan membiasakan  untuk menggunakan istilah bahasa Inggris yang tepat, lazim, dan wajar seperti yang biasa digunakan oleh penutur asli / native speaker (88%), memberikan kesempatan mahasiswa  untuk belajar bahasa Inggris secara komunikatif dan kolaboratif (85%), dan meningkatkan rasa percaya diri dalam hal kelancaran dan kefasihan (82%) serta  menambah pengetahuan  tentang frasa dan penggabungan kata (87%). Oleh karena itu, pembelajaran bahasa Inggris berbasis tugas menunjukkan  bahwa penggunaan collocations sebagai task-based language teaching efektif  dalam meningkatkan speaking fluency mahasiswa.

The study is intended to increase speaking performance of PAI students of Muhammadiyah University of Metro by using storytelling. The design of the research is collaborative classroom action research which involves a collaborator in whole process of the research. The instruments of the research are observation sheet, field notes, and speaking test. The criteria of success of the research are 100% from thirty students are active in the classroom and get score equal to or more than 70. The result shows that twenty two students get score 70 in Cycle 1 and thirty in Cycle 2.

This study aims to describe the use of screencast-o-matic to improve students’ creativity and critical thinking in speaking performance on class X students, with the total of students is 24. The type of research used was classroom action research. The instruments in this study were the teaching-learning observation sheet, worksheet, and the questionnaire responses of the students. The results of the study shown that: (1) Students had a higher value. (2) Student’ speaking performance in class was increased slowly when the teacher invited them to discuss in class with various questions that required them to come up with ideas. (3) The teacher began to apply critical thinking in the classroom by giving several questions that lead students to think before answering the questions. (4) When students used screencast-o-matic in groups. Each group had its own ideas when using them so that they can be created their own creativity to make a video. Not only creativity, they feel enjoy, comfortable and confident when speaking in front of the camera using screencast-o-matic with English. The use of screencast-o-matic can be increased students' creativity in making a video which can be used by them as media or learning aids to more easily understand it. In addition to creativity, screencast-o-matic media also used as a means for students to develop their new ideas and think critically in responding to something they had made, namely a video reaction about a song.

<p><em>Learnsocial</em> merupakan sejenis <em>platform</em> yang berfungsi sebagai media dalam pembelajaran yang membantu dosen ataupun guru dalam menyampaikan materi. Materi yang  telah disampaikan dikelas dapat diulas kembali oleh mahasiswa dengan menggunakan <em>platform</em> <em>learnsocial</em>. Mahasiswa dapat mempelajari materi yang telah diberikan dosen dimana saja, karena <em>platform</em> <em>learnsocial</em> dapat diakses menggunakan handphone, laptop atau komputer. Dalam keadaan offline mahasiswa tetap dapat mengakses materi yang telah didownload tetapi untuk mendengarkan native speaker dibutuhkan jaringan internet yang baik. Penelitian ini dilakukan kepada mahasiswa semester dua Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris STKIP Kusuma Negara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode <em>Classroom Action Research</em> atau penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri dari dua siklus. Pada siklus pertama didapatkan hasil 45% mahasiswa yang sudah tuntas dalam pembelajaran  kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris dengan  rata-rata nilai mahasiswa sebesar 71,3. Pada siklus kedua didapatkan hasil 90% mahasiswa dengan kemampuan berbicara dengan rata-rata nilai sebesar 88,5 yang artinya 90% mahasiswa tuntas dapat menggunakan <em>platform</em> learnsocial dalam kemampuan berbicara. <em>Platform</em> <em>learnsocial</em> mudah digunakan mahasiswa dan dosen. <em>Platform</em> tersebut dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam berbicara bahasa Inggris. Hal tersebut terbukti dengan ketuntasan dalam kemampuan berbicara pada siklus I dan siklus II. <em>Platform</em> <em>learnsocial</em> efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran selain ramah lingkungan juga mudah digunakan.</p>

This study discusses about English conversation teaching by pair-work technique for the firts year English majored students. This study uses Classroom Action Research. It can be used to know the improvement of teachers’ activity and students’ ability after a particular technique applied. The research findings denoted that pair-work technique can attract the students’ motivation to take part in language teaching and improve their ability at speaking, It can seen from the improvement of students’ activities from cycle one to cycle two  (82,5 % of the students took part in the teaching -learning process or at  level 3,3 ,good category to 91,25% or at the level 3,65, good category in cycle two, and the improvement of their scores  was 7 students (21,9%) got score 70 up in pre cycle, 29 students  (90,6 %) in cycle one and 32 students (100%)  in cycle two. It can be stated that the pair-work technique is appropriate to apply in teaching speaking.

The objective of this study was to find out the implementation of audio-visual media to improve students’ motivation in speaking English. The writer has conducted a Classroom Action Research. The subjects of this study were 31 students who belong to the XI IPA 1 class. This study used classroom action research in three cycles; the planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The score of speaking from cycle to cycle improved, the first students’ speaking performance result was the second result was, and the third was. Based on those score (from 1st cycle to 3rd cycle), showed how the implementation of audio-visual media that could be improved students’ motivation to speak English.

This research was aimed to describe using Autoplay Media to Improve Students’ Speaking Performance at SMAS Darul Hikmah Mataram. The model of this research was classroom action research. This research focused on improving of the students’ speaking performance by using Autoplay Media. This research consisted of one cycle include the classroom action research model such as: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. In this research, the researcher toke the XI IPS of SMAS Darul Hikmah Mataram. The instrument that used by the researcher in this study were test, recording, and observation sheet to measure the students result.  Based on the result of data analysis the mean score of students’ achievement in the first cycle was 45.05 in the pre-test and the percentage was 21.05% and post-test was 79.36, percentage was 78.94%. So the researcher concluded that the score of the students’ speaking performance was higher than minimum Complete Criteria Success (KKM), in which the KKM of SMAS Darul Hikmah Mataram was 75. So, it could be concluded that this research was successful and could increase students’ speaking performance.

English speaking ability has long been considered as one of the most crucial materials for a bilingual program in Islamic Boarding School of Maulana Malik Ibrahim, State Islamic University of Malang. Since students of that Islamic Boarding School are demanded to be able to communicate in English, motivation and training to comprehend in mastering it are needed. However, some students consider speaking as the most difficult one since it needs great courage as well as preparation to produce the language. Either beginner or advanced students participate passively when joining Sobaghul Lughoh program. The researcher is interested conducting a research for Advance class because they are considered having good capability either verbal or oral in English but they seem passive participating in the class. The researcher uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) to analyze and solve the problems faced by the Advance class. Furthermore, the researcher concerns on their speaking participation rather than other skills because speaking is productive skill which can be directly and empirically observed. The result is the students enthused joining the program and participated much in doing the task. Finally, Implementing Task Based Language Teaching (TBLT) instruction in Sobaghul Lughoh Program has showed conclusion that this method is appropriate to be applied. This strategy is able to improve students’ speaking participation in class. Their participation in completing tasks, discussion and conversation shows that they are active and enthusiasm following the program. Key Words: TBLT, Speaking, Sobaghul Lughoh Program

The study described how video projects were used to enhance the speaking performance of EFL college students in IAIN Kediri, Indonesia. The researcher found that students faced technical and personal problems appeared in the speaking class. A classroom action research was applied to the study to solve the problems. Then, the data was analyzed descriptively. The result of the study identified that students emerged confidence, fluency, good collaboration and excitement in the speaking class. The study resulted that obstacles of speaking English can be solved alternatively through the used of song videos as the project by practicing the aspects of the language in song lyrics and producing videos which then were spread out through YouTube website in order to appreciate their work and creativity as well as to share it as useful sources of teaching media and also entertainment.

ABSTRACTThis article points out the results of the study attempting to solve the speaking problem faced by students in one of the Higher School of Teacher Training and Education (STKIP) in Central Lampung. For the purpose of the topic, 30 fellow students were selected as the subject. Research method was Classroom Action Research with Kemmis and Taggart model. It was conducted for about four cycles. According to the results of speaking test, findings showed that using Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) had positive meaningful effect on improving students’ speaking skill. To sum up, CLT is an effective method to teach speaking to the subject.

The article was written to show how the task based language teaching as a language teaching method can improve students’ speaking skill at Mandalika University Of Education. The research was conducted by involving the first semester students of english department Mandalika University of education. The type of the research was classroom action research in which task based language teaching was a method adopted to improves the students’ speaking skill. Collecting the research data, the researcher used two kinds of research instruments. Speaking tests were used to measure the improvement on students’ speaking skill, meanwhile observation was conducted to define how the task based language teaching improves the students’’ speaking skill. The research was concluded to has some significant improvements on students’ speaking skill proved by deviation scores gained between first cycle and second cycles of the research in which the task cycles, interesting topics of discussion, and activities through the task based language teaching method were considered as factors which significantly affected students’ speaking skill improvement.
