Agapia Monastery – the remarkable Moldavian monastery painted by Nicolae Grigorescu – has a precious heritage of icons, books and documents, liturgical textiles, goldsmithing. Among these, the main place is occupied by the icons painted in the XV-XIX centuries, either in post-Byzantine style, in tempera technique, or in realistic style, in oil technique. Some icons from the XVIII-XIX centuries have been preserved and restored in the Icon Restoration laboratory of the Faculty of Theology in Iaşi. In time, the icons kept in the storage of the Monastery Museum have suffered of degradation caused both by the deficient author’s technique and by the exogenous, biotic and abiotic factors. The wooden supports of some icons were severely degraded by the attack of xylophagous insects, being affected both the mechanical resistance and the appearance of the wood. The numerous galleries immediately below the pictorial layer determined its deformation. The pictorial layer of some icons was degraded mainly due to the errors of the painters’ work technique: very thin and fragile preparation layer or excessive binder, which led to the formation of accentuated early cracks. The appearance of the icons was affected either by the chromatic alteration of the protective varnish, or by the deposits of dust and soot in the atmosphere. The interventions for the conservation of the icons consisted in biociding the painting support and in consolidating the pictorial layer detached from the wooden support. The restoration of the icons aimed at removing the dirt deposits from the painting by physico-chemical means, filling the gaps in the icons and their chromatic integration, with easily reversible materials. After conservation and restoration, the icons returned to the Agapia Monastery for use.

Ethnographic studies have revealed the importance of the family in the development of popular culture among Romanians, highlighting its role in transmitting old creative traditions in art and its wide receptivity to innovations in current work technique. In this context, the author concludes that the family presents itself as a constant in the process of shaping the culture and civilization of a people, but also as a source of values that is continuously implemented in the reality of community and individual life. Its appearance is the result of a long and complex process, which has its beginning in the early stages of the development of the family as a social unit. In the present approach, the author discusses a family of musicians, who became a model for the locals of Costiceni village, revealing the spiritual values of resonance that it generated over the years to the rural community from which it draws its roots. Insisting on the spiritual side, he will demonstrate how this social constant has survived and how over the years it has become a generative example of culture and civilization in the genuine environment, thanks to its functions: ethical, educational, psychological, political, legal and religious.

Summary. The single chips of ceramic structures remain a big problem for both the patient and for the doctor, especially in the frontal area, when for some objective reason, they cannot immediately change the construction. The work is justified by the choice of materials and the method of direct restoration of a single defect is described on a zirconium basis using the BIFIX SE self-adhesive system and the Futurabond U universal adhesive (VOCO, Germany). The repair of chipped ceramics is a real necessity. And the durability of restorations directly depends on the compliance with adhesive work technique, as well as the analysis of the reasons leading to the destruction of the ceramic mass and following up the patient's regime. Key words: the chipped ceramics, direct restoration, adhesive technique, self-adhesive system for fixing.

Work-related musculoskeletal disorders are a major concern globally affecting societies, companies, and individuals. To address this, a new sensor-based system is presented: the Smart Workwear System, aimed at facilitating preventive measures by supporting risk assessments, work design, and work technique training. The system has a module-based platform that enables flexibility of sensor-type utilization, depending on the specific application. A module of the Smart Workwear System that utilizes haptic feedback for work technique training is further presented and evaluated in simulated mail sorting on sixteen novice participants for its potential to reduce adverse arm movements and postures in repetitive manual handling. Upper-arm postures were recorded, using an inertial measurement unit (IMU), perceived pain/discomfort with the Borg CR10-scale, and user experience with a semi-structured interview. This study shows that the use of haptic feedback for work technique training has the potential to significantly reduce the time in adverse upper-arm postures after short periods of training. The haptic feedback was experienced positive and usable by the participants and was effective in supporting learning of how to improve postures and movements. It is concluded that this type of sensorized system, using haptic feedback training, is promising for the future, especially when organizations are introducing newly employed staff, when teaching ergonomics to employees in physically demanding jobs, and when performing ergonomics interventions.

Abstract Background: This study investigated the clinical value of the myocardial work technique for the quantitative analysis of left ventricular (LV) systolic function in maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients with or without left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH).Methods: A total of 58 MHD patients and 29 normal subjects were registered in this study. The MHD patients were divided into the non-left ventricular hypertrophy (NLVH) group (n=32) and the LVH group (n=26) according to the LV myocardial index (LVMI). Automated function imaging was used to analyze the dynamic images of the LV myocardium obtained in two-, three-, and four-chamber views. The blood pressure was inputted to generated the LV global longitudinal strain (GLS), myocardial global work index (GWI), global constructive work (GCW), global wasted work (GWW), global work efficiency (GWE), and peak strain dispersion (PSD). GLS, PSD, and the MW parameters (GWI, GCW, GWW, GWE) were compared between groups and the correlations between these parameters and the LV ejection fraction (LVEF) were examined. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate the efficacy of MW parameters and GLS for the assessment of LV systolic dysfunction in MHD patients with LVH.Results: The LVH group had significantly lower GWE, GWI, GCW, and GLS but higher GWW and PSD than the control and NLVH groups. Compared with the control group, the NLVH group had significantly lower GWE and GLS and higher GWW, but no significant differences in GWI, GCW, and PSD were observed between these two groups. The LVEF was negatively correlated with GWW in MHD patients, but positively correlated with GWI, GWE, and GCW. Area under the curve (AUC) analysis revealed that in the LVH group, GWE, GWW, GWI, and GCW had appreciable AUC, sensitivity, and specificity for evaluating LV function in LVH patients. Conclusion: MW parameters can be effectively used to evaluate the LV systolic function in MHD patients with or without LVH.

Many people may find some difficulties to share their ideas or opinion through oral language. Even though they have something to speak, they do not know how to express it. They also have problems related to lack of participation and low motivation in speaking. Therefore, a teacher should select the best technique that can encourage students and increase their motivation to speak. The teacher can use “Pair Work” to teach English speaking. This technique demands students to be active to speak based on the material has been given. Through this technique, students should practice to speak in order to give agreeing and disagreeing opinion. By apliying this technique in speaking class, it will make the class fun and interesting. The objective of this paper is to explain how to use pair work technique in teaching speaking to junior high school students in Smpn 1 Plumbon.
