Title: Architectural Design Symbolism Catholic Church of Saint Peter and The Virgin Mary Catholic Church Santa Grief Seven in BandungAs a place of holy worship, a Catholic Church should posses a sacred interior and exterior expression. Modernization has caused a good deal of this sacred expression of the Catholic Church to fade. As Catholic Church is a place of worship that supports all liturgical activities, semiotic theory are used toanalyze and decipher its architecture to preserve sacredness. The research methodology that was employed was qualitative methods using Peirce’s semioticprinciples and their implementation in Church architecture. The principle was then used to analyze two case studies in every detail of their draw up. The area of planning encompassed: (1) Scope of the surrounding environment; (2) Scope of the site; (3) Scope of the form. This analysis employed semiotic principles that were elaborated with Catholic Church principles to create a guideline in thearchitectural planning of a Catholic Church. The purpose of this research is to find the most dominant sacral expression between Santo PetrusChurch and the Santa Perawan Maria Tujuh Kedukaan Church by means of the symbols attached to the architectural elements between these two Catholic Churches. The results of this study were that sacral expression in terms of (1) Scope of the surrounding environment; (2) Scope of the site; (3) Scope of the form are more dominant in the Santo Petrus Church compared to the Santa Perawan Maria Tujuh Kedukaan Church. Keywords: Peirce’s semiotics, sacral expression, catholic church

Kata kunci:  Relasi, Fungsi  dan bentuk, Ekspresi, Sakralitas, Gereja Katolik ABSTRACT: The phenomenon of fading off form “sakralitas” of Catholic Church in the world has worried Paus Benedictus. Evidently, this phenomenon had been happened to Catholic Church in Indonesia, particularly Jakarta. Generally, problem has been occurred from this phenomenon is because there is no well relation between activities function with the form as well as the appearance meaning from that relation. The attraction between these both function and form, will be interpreted by people through direct observation for user as well as architectural researcher. This research will use some methods, firstly, will record liturgy function and form on the conducted churches as case studies then will describe in detail, thus could be analyzed all the existing architecture form. Secondly, will use combination “sakralitas” approach from Eliade, Hoffman, Jones and Martasudjita to explore all activities function, although to identify ornament will use Peirce approach. On the otherhand, to explore form expression will use elaboration from architectural approach of Salura and Evensen. This analysis will be based on to structuralism approach, which will explore the inner structure. Thirdly, after analysis process, all case studies will be compared each other on each study object which known as inner-structure. Fourthly, interpretation of activities relation and sacred conception on study objects. Fifthly,  to conclude the signification of function relational with form sakralitas of church architecture. Therefore, if this building element’s sakralitas exist, then all the church architecture on study objects could be said, they are throwing off the expression of sacred form which full of Catholic’s values.         Keywords:  relation, function and form, expression, sakralitas, Catholic Church

Title: Understanding Interior as a Connector Interior design is a discipline that is very close to the complexities and the needs of human life. However, the intepretation and practice of interior design are often limited to decoration and contents within the physical boundaries of architecture. This paper aims to provide another perspective regarding the concept of interior that is, as a significant connector between humans and their living environment along with architecture, so that the methods and practice of interior design as well as architecture may expand more than what has been observed today. The paper is a result of a qualitative research through literature review and exploration of case studies. Results conclude to several interior and architectural design techniques based on the perception of interior as a ?connector? that could be used, such as the blurring of physical boundaries, programmatic manipulation, innovation of material continuity and configuration of architectural elements into interior elements. Through the physical as well as conceptual manipulation of space, the intepretation of interior design would no longer be limited to the contents within the physical boundaries of architecture but rather a truly important connector along with architecture, between humans and their living environment.

We can be sure that humans speak whatever they do, whether they drive, play, work or make friends. People live in the linguistic world. Everybody may interact with their families, colleagues, teachers or even strangers in human language. The study took place in Bandung in May 2021. The tool used in this research is a qualitative method with an application to case studies. In kids aged 2-2 years six months, the data source has been collected from an FA child using qualitative methods. The design of the study was longitudinal. The FA has obtained research data through observations, notes and interviews between the FA and its parents. The results of this article indicate that the phoneme [a], I [u], [o], [alternative], [alternative], [alternatively] and [alternative] is mastered by TPM. At the age of 2 years and one month, he mastered vocal phonemes. The first vowels he learned were the [a], I [u], I then the front vowels I [e], [т], [o], [first], [middle vowel] [first], [a]. Vowels not diphenic in nature were, for instance [au], [ai] and [ue], also mastered at the age of 2 years and three months. However, the initial [au] and [ai] diphthongs were not perfected until they were two years old and six months old. At the same time, there is a good deal of mastery in the consonants [p], [b], [t], [t], [h], [j], [n], [p], [p], [l], [f], and [y]. The [t], [s], [c], [j] and [alias] consonants have been found but still fluctuate in other sounds. The tone of the Velar [g], [k] inhibition is not properly pronounced. The sound [k] can only be regulated if at the centre and the end of a phrase. The sound [f] and [v] and the sound [r] are not yet new and have not yet been regulated. The TPM executes the phones that it has not managed to pronounce, such as phonemes [f], [v], [z] and [x], in a replaceable pattern.

Chapter 5 focuses on one particular type of Lutheran devotional image: the crucifix. It examines transformations in Lutheran Passion piety from the early Reformation to the era of Paul Gerhardt (1607–76), using this to illustrate the increasing significance accorded to images. Luther himself had condemned the excesses of late-medieval Passion piety, with its emphasis on compassion for Christ and the Virgin Mary, on physical pain and on tears. From the later sixteenth century onwards, however, Lutheran sermons, devotional literature, prayers and poetry described Christ’s suffering in increasingly graphic terms. Alongside this, late-medieval images of the Passion were restored and new images were produced. Drawing on case studies from the Erzgebirge, a prosperous mining region in southern Saxony, and Upper Lusatia, the chapter investigates the ways in which images of the Passion were used in Lutheran communities during the seventeenth century.

"In less than one year, the Catholic Church, just like the other denominations, lost its school network built along the centuries. This was the moment when the bishop wrote: “No one can resent if we shed tears over the loss of our schools and educational institutions”. Moreover, he stated that he would do everything to re-store the injustice since they could not resent if we used all the legal possibilities and instruments to retrieve our schools that we were illegally dispossessed of. Furthermore, he evaluated the situation realistically and warned the families to be more responsible. He emphasized the parents’ responsibility. First and foremost, the mother was the child’s first teacher of religion. She taught him the first prayers; he heard about God, Jesus, the Virgin Mary, and the angels from his mother for the first time. He asked for the mothers’ and the parents’ support also in mastering the teachings of the faith. Earlier, he already instructed the priests to organize extramu-ral biblical classes for the children and youth. At this point, he asked the families to cooperate effectively, especially to lead an ardent, exemplary religious life, so that the children would grow up in a religious and moral life according to God’s will, learn-ing from the parents’ examples. And just as on many other occasions throughout history, the Catholic Church started building again. It did not build spectacular-looking churches and schools but rather modest catechism halls to bring communities together. These were the places where the priests of the dioceses led by the bishop’s example and assuming all the persecutions, incessantly educated the school children to the love of God and of their brethren, and the children even more zealously attended the catechism classes, ignoring their teachers’ prohibitions. Tripoli is a city of a Mediterranean Sea climate; this has contributed with some social and religious factors to affect the architectural and urban design, which all originally has come from the Islamic content. This study argues the climatic features of Tripoli in order to show the ways followed by the Libyan Muslim architect. In other words, these ways were used to adapt with the climate and create the demanding architectural treatments, which have served the building units. This is considered as a study case that can discuss the possibility of the climatic reflection on the walls. That is to say, the walls’ thickness, the type of the used substance in building, the substance’s properties, the type of roof used in covering the building units and the architectural design of the building as treatments achieved professionally by the architect in decreasing the heat in summer and increasing the heat in winter through the mass block. Additionally, the researchers have stated that Tripoli’s building design respected the privacy of the inhabitants and their isolation from the world outside their buildings. That is because they wanted to have their own cold spaces inside which were rich of light, air and shadow. As a result of the aforementioned considerations, the architectural buildings contained the uncovered space and the broken entrance to keep the privacy from the passengers and to protect the inhabitants from wind and sand. These were regarded as final solutions for the architectural and climatic problem. Further, this study illustrates the active role of using the planning including the architectural formations and the treatments of motion path. That is according to their width, their length, their form, their guidance and their direction change in order to make shadow and isolate the front of buildings. This also contributed to give the streets the northern wind which in turn helped to keep the air moving as long as possible to tone down the climatic influences. Moreover, the planning aimed to show its turn through analytical, architectural and documentary survey for realistic examples in the archeological registrar of the potential city treatments. These architectural elements were important in making the sustainable architecture in respect to the environment and human relaxation requirements. Finally, the researchers measured the following factors temperatures, wind, rain, and ratio humidity for variety of spaces in the city. That was followed by qualitative and quantitative statistical analysis supported by graphs
