The objective of this study is to examine the impact of work ethics on performance using job satisfaction and affective commitment as mediating variables. The variables used include the dimensions of multidimensional work ethic profile (independent variable), job satisfaction and affective commitment (mediating variables), and performance (dependent variable). The survey research design was applied to meet the objective of this study, with 400 questionnaires had been sent to the lecturers in Central Java. The Structural Equation Model (SEM) was adopted to test some hypotheses developed in this study. The findings, based on the response rate of 76% (304 of the 400) of the questionnaires successfully collected and ready for analysis, are that not all dimensions of multidimensional work ethic profile directly influence the task performance, of the dimensions of  multidimensional work ethic profile, only the dimension of hard work directly and significantly influence the task performance, job satisfaction mediates some of the dimensions of multidimensional work ethic profile on the task performance, and affective<br />commitment do not mediate the influence of all dimensions of multidimensional work ethic profile on the task performance.

Taking a case study of tourism as hospitality industry in Lampung Province in Indonesia, we analyze the antecedent of customer satisfaction and its impact on customer retention. Using Structural Equation Model (SEM), we find that customer relationship management has a significant impact on service quality, customer satisfaction and customer retention. Moreover, the impact of service quality on customer satisfaction and the one of customer satisfaction on customer retention are also significant. Relying on the findings, we recommend some strategies for the government of Lampung Province, e.g. training local people to behave more friendly in welcoming domestic or international tourists, fixing all lodging facilities, creating more souvenirs with Lampung’s ornaments and developing management system adopting global changes in technology, communication and trend.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to develop a theoretical framework involving dependence, relationship commitment, logistics outsourcing and service quality to exhibit the roles of the relational factors involved in logistics outsourcing and their outcomes. Design/methodology/approach – Based on data collected from 361 companies in Greater China, the authors use the structural equation model approach to examine the hypothesized relationships. Findings – Both normative and instrumental relationship commitment are necessary for third party logistics (3PL) users to cope with their goal dependence on 3PL providers. However, only normative relationship commitment is necessary when users perceive switch dependence. Normative relationship commitment also plays a more important role than instrumental relationship commitment in facilitating the adoption of 3PL logistic outsourcing. In addition, both basic and advanced outsourcing practices have a positive effect on service quality. Originality/value – This study contributes to both 3PL theories and practices by clarifying how relationships between 3PL users and providers in China are managed.

Small fishermen only able to utilize the resources in coastal area with the catch products that tend to decline continually, due to the competition with large ships and the decline of coast resources qualities. Catch products also easy to damage thus weaken their bargain position in sales transaction. In addition to the fish resources the sea zone of Sampang Regency also contains various kinds of resources, both renewal and non-renewal resources, and environmental services, both in the sea and in its coastal area. Sea zone of Sampang Regency is one of zones with the biological diverse and rich of mine and mineral materials and it potential for the development of industrial, tourism, fishery, settlement activities and so forth. Because of the potentials then it needed the presence of economic empowerment for the community in Sampang Regency, through the economic moral and the entrepreneurship level. Population in this research was the 171 fishermen in Sampang Regency of Madura, consisted of 49 fishermen of PEMP members and a number of 122 fishermen of self-fund fishermen. From the testing result on the model in this research, by the Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE), the structural equation model (SEM) analysis, the proportional random sampling method and the assistance of software Amos 22, on 140 respondents. The research result indicated that: 1) Economic moral has significant effect on economic behavior. 2) Entrepreneurship level has significant effect on economic behavior. 3) Economic moral has significant effect on fishermen household economic welfare. 4) Entrepreneurship level has significant effect on fishermen household economic welfare. 5) Fishermen economic behavior has significant effect on fishermen household economic welfare. Of the three variables hypothesized as influential on fishermen household economic welfare in this research, whose value largest is the direct relevance between the fishermen entrepreneurship and the fishermen household economic welfare. This case affirms that the fishermen entrepreneurship level is very dominant to influence the fishermen household economic welfare in Sampang Regency of Madura. Key words:      economic moral, entrepreneurship level, economic behavior, fishermen economic welfare

Relationship learnings is the main essential requirement to create company’s innovation power to enhance its competitive advantage. The relationship learning of furniture compa-nies in Indonesia has been considered in low level compared to China and other Asian countries. This also has a significant effect toward marketing performance in term of bilateral trade relationship between Indonesia and China. The link phenomenon of market orientation with the awareness about relationship behavior of furnitures companies in China has much more dominant role to win the competition. The connection or network (Guan Xi - 关系) has been used to maintain business relation amongst furniture companies in China for information sharing from academicians, suppliers and even competitors. Apparently, furnitures companies Indonesia haven’t got used to it. Companies here are less paying atten-tion on this remarkable source to generate a new innovation or design, even making market surveys to support innovation capability.  The purpose of this research is to analize the followings, (1). The effect of market orientation toward relationship learnings, (2). The effect of market orientation toward competitive advantage, (3). The effect of relationship learning toward competitive advantage, (4). The effect of market orientation toward marke-ting performance, (5). The effect of relationship learning toward marketing performance, (6). The effect of competitive advantage toward marketing performance of furnitures com-panies in Java island region. The research objects are all furniture companies in Java island region which consists of Surabaya, Semarang, Bandung and Jabodetabek with total number about 830 companies, with furniture company as analysis unit. 90 companies were being taken for the samples. This research has using SEM (Structural Equation Model) as the analysis tool to estimate the reciprocal effect by involving interverning variable. The analysis’ results showing that the market orientation has a possitive effect to marke-ting performance of furnitures companies in Java island region thru relationship learning.Keyword: market orientation, relationship learnings, competitive advantage, marketing performance
