AbstractThe role of teachers, especially in primary school education, is something that needs to be considered as a form of anticipation of emotional fatigue that results in burnout. This study aimed to examine the effect of teacher self-efficacy in mediating the relationship of mindfulness to the domain of burnout conditions. Data collected from participants in inclusive primary school (n = 174) using convenience sampling techniques. This study used Mindfulness in Teaching Scale, Teacher Efficacy in Inclusive Practice, and Maslach Burnout Inventory-Educator Survey as measuring tools, which has been adapted to the context of inclusive education in Indonesia. The results of the regression test and the Sobel test showed that self-efficacy significantly mediates the relationship between mindfulness conditions and the domain of personal achievement in burnout conditions. The teacher's self-efficacy becomes an important thing to consider when wanting to handle mindfulness in helping to improve the domain of personal accomplishment in burnout conditions. Implications, limitations of the study, and suggestions for further research are discussed. Abstract Five hundred fifty mainland Chinese university students were given a questionnaire that contained a Teacher Efficacy for Inclusive Practices (TEIP) scale. The purpose of the study was a) to test the factor structure of teacher self-efficacy for inclusive practices, b) to investigate the relationship between teacher self-efficacy for inclusive practices and attitude toward inclusive education, and c) to study the relationship between participants' attitudes and other variables related to inclusive education. Confirmatory factor analysis gave support the hyphothesis of three correlated but separate factors of self-efficacy: Efficacy to use inclusive instructions, Efficacy in collaboration, and Efficacy in managing behaviour. As the initial factors were correlated, another model with second-order factor to which the three factors loaded, was tested. This model fit the data equally well. The second-order factor, which was named as General teacher self-efficacy for inclusive practices, explained significantly participants' attitudes to inclusive education.

The purpose of this research is to reveal the levels of affection for children, teaching motivations and self-efficacy beliefs of the teacher candidates studying in special education, pre-school and primary school teaching departments based on their gender, classroom and academic branches to showcase the correlations between the levels of the teachers’ affection for children, their self-efficacy beliefs and teaching motivations. The study group was determined with the criterion sampling method. 368 teacher candidates participated in this study: 108 from special education department, 136 from pre-school department and 136 from primary school teacher department. The data were collected by means of ‘Barnett Liking Children, Teaching Motivations and Perception of Teacher Self-efficacy Scales’. The data were analyzed using independent group t-tests, one –way analysis of variance, Pearson’s correlation analysis and simple linear regression analysis. The results show that the teacher candidates from the three departments have a high level of affection for children. Their motivations to teach and self-efficacy beliefs are higher than the average value. It is revealed that there is an average positive correlation between liking children and teacher self-efficacy in using teaching strategies. However, the data results disclosed that the teacher candidates’ self-efficacy beliefs, students’ participation, teaching motivations, and teaching strategies predict their affection for children significantly and positively. Teacher candidates should be enabled to establish direct experiences with the group they shall work with in order to develop the self-efficiency beliefs of them.

The main aim of the study was to adapt into Polish the Teacher Efficacy for Inclusive Practice (TEIP) Scale, originally prepared by Sharma, Loreman, and Forlin (2011). A total of 291 Polish teachers participated in the study. We conducted a factor analysis and reliability analysis and obtained satisfactory results similar to those of the authors of the scale. We also conducted a correlation analysis of self-efficacy and attitudes toward inclusive education. The correlation between the entire scale and the attitudes was non-significant. However, there was a significant relationship between efficacy in collaboration and attitudes toward inclusion, which is in line with other research. Although our results are similar to previously published results, more research on this topic is needed.

In any teaching and learning setting, there are some variables that play a highly significant role in both teachers’ and learners’ performance. Two of these influential psychological domains in educational context include self-efficacy and burnout. This study is conducted to investigate the relationship between the self-efficacy of Iranian teachers of English and their reports of burnout. The data was collected through application of two questionnaires. The Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI; Maslach& Jackson 1981, 1986) and Teacher Efficacy Scales (Woolfolk& Hoy, 1990) were administered to ten university teachers. After obtaining the raw data, the SPSS software (version 16) was used to change the data into numerical interpretable forms. In order to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and teachers’ burnout, correlational analysis was employed. The results showed that participants’ self-efficacy has a reverse relationship with their burnout. Keyword: teacher self-efficacy, teacher burnout

Efficacy is a person’s degree of beliefs and confidence to implement a task and produce a positive change. Efficacy can be divided into two aspects, namely self-efficacy and collective efficacy. In the context of education, the focus of research on efficacy is on teacher self-efficacy and collective teacher efficacy. Teacher self-efficacy is teachers’ belief in their own ability to carry out a task in order to bring positive changes, while collective teacher efficacy is the shared belief of teachers from different backgrounds and competencies in their ability to achieve the same goal. Collective efficacy depends on teacher self-efficacy to create collective beliefs in ensuring the achievement of the school’s vision and mission. Studies on collective teacher efficacy have brought positive effects on student performance and achievement and become an indicator of student performance. However, the research trend has shifted to focus on the relationship between collective teacher efficacy and teacher leadership. It was found that collective teacher efficacy not only influenced student performance and achievement but also affected teacher leadership. In the Malaysian context, studies on collective teacher efficacy are still scarce and they mostly focused on demographic levels, factors affecting teacher collective efficacy, level of collective teacher efficacy and the relationship between collective teacher efficacy and student achievement. As teacher quality is an important factor in educational improvement, it is proposed that future studies in the Malaysian context emphasize the relationship between teacher collective efficacy and issues regarding teacher leadership as they eventually bring positive effects on students’ academic achievement. Therefore, more research is needed to address the role of teacher collective efficacy on teacher leadership in promoting quality of teaching and learning. A large scale radical improvement in the educational field is highly needed.

The article deals with the issue of teacher efficacy and self-efficacy that are considered to be the main factors in understanding the reform results. The survey administered at university in the western part of Ukraine to pre-service primary school teachers helped to identify student perception of their efficacy to teach in the New Ukrainian School (NUSH) environment. They were asked questions about the key components of the New Ukrainian School reform, the new requirements for the reformed school environment, their attitude to inclusive education, pedagogy of partnership, teaching practices and strategies, communication skills, professional development. It was concluded that the pre-service teachers in the full time programs, both bachelors and masters, have almost similar level of their perceived self-efficacy, while part-time master’s students, who have more than one year of teaching experience perceive their efficacy at a higher level. The problem areas in the skills are identified that will require some additional adjustment to the curriculum. It is important for universities to teach their students to prioritize knowledge acquisition, developing numerous skills, professional qualities, value system, gaining initial experience, which will ensure their efficacy and self-efficacy to effectively work and implement the objectives of the New Ukrainian School concept. In terms of reforming, the national education system requires the new model of teacher training, that can provide pre-service teachers with quality education and help them feel efficacious to implement the objectives of the New Ukrainian School reform.
