<p>Desire to apply knowledge gained in school is the characteristic of high school students. These characteristic actually has been accommodated into 2013 curriculum. However, low interest of high school students to study chemistry was still found. Various learning methods have been developed to improve learning interest in the classroom. The effort to increase students' interest in chemistry can also be done outside the classroom. In this paper will be presented a theoretical study of joyful learning real world chemistry through VAKSIN strategy during school break. The strategy will be given in two ways, through science camps or excursion. Materials to be provided during the science camp are making green chemistry paint, exploration of cat litters, and simulations of waste water purification. Excursion can go into two places, the industry or university. VAKSIN strategy will have positive impact on students, teachers, industries, and universities.</p><p><em> </em></p><p><strong>Keywords</strong>: high school students, joyful learning, real world chemistry, VAKSIN strategy</p>

This research was aimed to: produce module based on e-book using Kvisoft Flipbook Maker application that proper to increase learning interest and cognitive learning outcome, know the increasing interest of senior high school students which use learning media module based on e-book using Kvisoft Flipbook Maker application, and know the increasing of cognitive learning outcome of senior high school students which use learning media module based on e-book using Kvisoft Flipbook Maker application.  The result show that: the module based on e-book using Kvisoft Flipbook Maker application is proper to increase learning interest and cognitive learning outcome of senior high school students seen from very good and good results category of practitioner appraisal and student’s response, the increasing of student’s learning interest which use module based on e-book using Kvisoft Flipbook Maker application by low category standard gain, and the increasing of student’s cognitive learning outcome which use module based on e-book using Kvisoft Flipbook Maker application by medium category standard gain

The purpose of the study was to investigate how feedbacks from teachers affect the academic achievement of New Edubiase Senior High School students in the Adansi South District of Ghana. The descriptive survey design was employed for this study. The researcher used questionnaire as the main instruments for data collection. The target population for the study was all the teachers and students of New Edubiase Senior High School. In all, 60 teachers and 60 students were used for the study. Simple random and purposive sampling strategy was employed to select respondents for the study. Percentages were used for the analysis of the response and presented in tables and charts. Findings showed that students of New Edubiase Senior High School are aware of the importance of teachers’ feedback, both formal and informal type of formative assessment is used in assessing students of New Edubiase Senior High School by their teachers but the type of formative assessment that is mostly used in assessing students is formal. The study also found out that feedback help students to know the benefit of learning, encourages students to be more active and participate in class activities, help students to internalize and process the demands of task given to them by their teachers, increases self-esteem of students, guides students in on their performance, feedback deepen the understanding of students on their performance and also clarify what students should do. The study concluded that feedback can be used as an effective teaching tool by teachers in improving students’ academic achievement. Based on the findings, it was recommended that teachers of New Edubiase Senior High School should use formative feedback effectively as an effective tool on student learning and achievement and must also see the importance of assessment and clearly show how feedback can have a positive impact on student learning. This study deals with the investigation of an analysis of teaching vocabulary by using technology, entertainment, design (TED) Talk. The previous study conducted in university students, while the present study is a case study in one of senior high school in Cilacap. This study was aimed at investigating teachers’ way and knowing students’ perception in teaching vocabulary by using TED Talk. In conducting this study the writers used  qualitative research in which case study was employed to collect the data from participants in this research, that were English teacher who taught vocabulary using TED Talk and ten grade students of senior high school students’ perception. Moreover, classroom observation, questionnaire, and interview were the instruments used by the writers in collecting the data. It could be concluded that most of the students are very interested in learning, it was very significant in relation to their learning interest, it was very helpful in mastering new vocabulary, it was strongly agree that it was given positive results for their learning achievement.Keywords: TED Talk, Vocabulary

The study deals with the developing interactive media for senior high school students. The objective of this study is to find out how to develop interactive media for better speaking skill of senior high school students. The research was conducted by using Research and Development (R&D). The subject of this research was 2016/2017 students of the eleventh grade of Class XI IPA4 in SMAN 1 Batang Kuis. The number of the students was 30 students. The data of this study was collected by using need analysis questionnaire and experts’ judgment. Need analysis questionnaire was calculated by using percentage to get the information of students’ need before developing interactive media. Experts’ judgment was calculated by using likert data, mean and criteria interval of expert judgment to know the validity of interactive media which has been developed. After the data analyzed, it was found that the experts’ judgment result was 4.80 which had a very good criteria interval. The result of the research find that interactive media is a very good to be used in teaching speaking skill.

The objectives of this study were to find out the types of lexical ambiguity and the most dominant type of lexical ambiguity used in analytical exposition texts in English Today 2 and Advanced Learning English 2 textbooks. This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitative method. The research was mainly focused on the four types of lexical ambiguity proposed by Saeed, such as homonymy, polysemy, synonymy and antonymy. In carrying out this study, the data were taken from analytical exposition texts in reading materials and exercise material from the two English textbooks which contained of ambiguous words. The result of the study indicated the numbers of lexical ambiguity were 46 words within homonymy (34,8%), polysemy (28,2%), synonymy (19,6%), and antonymy (17,4%).
