IMPLEMENTATION OF DOUBLE CRITICAL TECHNOLOGY SOCIETY LEARNING MODEL FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS

<p>This study aims to determine the implementation of Double Critical Technology Society (DCTS) learning model on the critical thinking skills of 7<sup>th</sup> grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Suhaid. This type of research is a quasi-experimental with posttest only design. Samples were taken from 7<sup>th</sup> grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Suhaid in the first semester of the 2019/2020 Academic Year which consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The research instruments used were a test to measure students' critical thinking skills after DCTS learning model was applied and a questionnaire to measure student responses after being given a DCTS learning model. The data obtained were then analyzed using descriptive statistics and independent sample t test. The results of data analysis with the independent sample t test showed that the significance value of students 'critical thinking skills was 0.00 less than 0.05 so there was an influence on the implementation of the DCTS learning model on students' critical thinking skills. The critical thinking skills of the experimental class students with an average value of 71.30 were better than the control class which had an average value of 50.23. The results of the assessment of the response questionnaire with an average of 83.25 showed an excellent response from students to the DCTS learning model.</p>

This research is motivated by the low ability of students to think critically. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of the Controversial Issues (CI) learning model in improving students' critical thinking skills. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method. The study design used Nonequivalent [Pre-Test and Post-Test] Control Groups Design (NCGD). The research samples were fourth grade students of SDN 4 Metro Timur, SDN 5 Metro Timur, SDN 8 Metro Timur, and SDN 10 Metro Timur, 60 students were used as the experimental class and 60 students were used as the control class. Data collection tools in the form of sheets about students' critical thinking skills. Data collection techniques in the form of tests, namely pretest to measure the initial ability of students' critical thinking skills and posttest to see the final ability. Based on the results of the study concluded that the effectiveness of the use of the Controversial Issues learning model affects the critical thinking skills of class IV elementary school students, so that students' critical thinking skills in the experimental class are much better when compared to the control class that has conventional learning. The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in effectiveness of PBL learning models with TPS in terms of the critical thinking skills of elementary school students in mathematics. This research is a quasi-experimental study. In this study, the Non-equivalent Control Group Design design is used to investigate the effects of the two variables used. In this study 19 students at Bacem Elementary School and 19 students at Waru Elementary School, Jepon District, Blora Regency. The two groups were given different treatments, namely the PBL learning model was treated in the experimental group at Bacem SDN, and the TPS model was treated in the control group at Waru Elementary School. Based on the results of the study, H_oditotak and H_a were accepted. The analysis in this study used the Ngain test to determine the increase in the average value of the results of the pretest and posttest. This is based on the results of the NGain analysis showing an increase in value after being given PBL treatment of 0.64, while the increase in value after being given TPS treatment was 0.53. Based on all analysis results, it can be concluded that there are significant differences in effectiveness in this study. Evidently the application of PBL learning models has a higher level of effectiveness when compared to the TPS learning model of the critical thinking skills of fifth grade students in mathematics

The background of the problem in this study originated from students' mathematical critical thinking skills that are still low. One way to overcome these problems is to use Jigsaw cooperative learning. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of jigsaw cooperative learning on the ability to think critically mathematically elementary school students. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental method with nonequivalent groups pretest-posttets design. The subject of this research is the fifth grade students of SD Negeri Andir Kidul 1, Bandung Municipality. The instrument used was a test item to measure students' mathematical critical thinking skills. Based on the results of data analysis using the t test at a significance level of 0.05, from the t test results obtained 0.192 results. So it can be concluded that Jigsaw cooperative learning has a significant influence on students' mathematical critical thinking skills.

This study aims to determine the differences in critical thinking skills between students who learn using the problem based learning model and STAD model. This research is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental method. The population of this study is the X grade students of SMK Negeri 3 Surakarta in the academic year 2017/2018. Samples were obtained by using cluster random sampling technique consisting of two classes namely X PM 1 class as the experimental class with problem-based learning and X PM 3 class as the control class with STAD learning. The technique of collecting data uses a multiple choice test to determine students' critical thinking skills. Data Analysis is using MANOVA. The results of the study indicate that there is a significant influence between the learning model on critical thinking skills. The application of the problem-based learning model proved to be more able to improve students' critical thinking skills compared to the STAD learning model.

KEEFEKTIFAN STRATEGI THE POWER OF TWO TERHADAP KECAKAPAN CRITICAL THINKING SISWAAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas strategi the power of two terhadap kecakapan critical thinking. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian quasi-experimental design. Penelitian dilaksanakan di sekolah dengan kemampuan level tinggi, sedang, dan rendah di daerah Kabupaten Bantul Yogyakarta pada Semester Genap Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019. Sampel kelas dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik random sampling terpilih 2 kelas pada masing-masing sekolah. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah data tes kecakapan critical thinking. Data dianalisis melalui uji independent sampel t-test dan uji Anova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan strategi the power of two lebih efektif daripada menggunakan strategi ekspositori terhadap kecakapan critical thinking siswa SMA Kelas XI MIPA, terdapat perbedaan kecakapan critical thinking pembelajaran yang menggunakan strategi the power of two dan pembelajaran yang menggunakan strategi ekspositori terhadap kecakapan critical thinking pada sekolah dengan level tinggi, sedang, dan rendah, dan ada interaksi antara penggunaan strategi the power of two dan sekolah dengan level tinggi, sedang, dan rendah terhadap kecakapan critical thinking peserta didik.Kata kunci: the power of two, critical thinking, strategi ekspositoriAbstractThis study was aimed at examining the effectiveness of the power of two strategy on critical thinking skills. This research was chategorized as a quasi-experimental design research. The study was conducted in high, medium and low-level schools in Yogyakarta in the even semester of the 2018/2019 school year. Class samples were selected using a random sampling technique, then 2 classes were selected in each school. The data collected were critical thinking skills test data. There data then analyzed through independent sample t-test and ANOVA test. The results show that the power of two strategy was more effective than using expository strategies for the critical thinking skills of high school students. There were differences in critical thinking learning skills using the power of two strategy and expository strategy for critical thinking skills in schools with high, medium, and low levels. There is also an interaction between the use of the power of two strategy towards the students' critical thinking skills.

Mathematics is one of the subjects that trains students to think critically, logically, analytically, systematically, and creatively. One of the regulations of the Minister of Nation Education No.23 of 2006 years, about “graduate competency standards” is to have the ability to cooperate. One way to develop students’s critical thinking skills is to apply student oriented learning with open learning, Open Ended. The method in this study is an experimental method by applying an Open Ended learning model. The purpose of this study was to obtain data or information about the influence and general picture of students critical thinking skills after the application of Open Ended learning in teaching and learning in the classroom. In addition to get an overview of students respones to the application of Open Ended. This study took the population class V MI Al-Falahiyah Kedungrejo-Kerek-Tuban lesson years 2019/2020. This study uses the population as a score of data because the number of students studied is less than 100 students. Namely fifth grade students, amuting to 20 students. The instruments used as data collection were questionnaires and test of mathematical critical thinking skills in fraction subjects. The statistical test used was a t-test with a pre test and post test one group design. Students whos responded to learning with who Open Ended model with a score range’s of 25-27by 10%, a range scores of 28-30 by 15%, a range scores 31-33 by 30%, a range scores of 34-36 by 15%, and 37-39 by 30%. With 11 students who responded well, and 9 students who responded very good, to the Open Ended learning model. Hypothesis test results with the t-test t hitung >  t tabel (2,109>2,029). While the average value of students mathematic critical thinking ability of students is categorized as moderate or sufficient.

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Instruction (PBI) learning model on the ability of students to think critically in class XI SMA Negeri 4 Bengkulu City. This study uses an experimental method, the sample of the population in this study are two classes selected by the Simple Random Sampling technique. Data analysis techniques using 1. Normality Test 2. Homogeneity Test 3. T-Test (Hypothesis Test). Based on the average value of students 'critical thinking skills in the class using the Problem Based Instruction learning model is 77.74, while the average value of students' critical thinking skills in conventional classes is 70.27. And after the t-test, a significant value of students 'critical thinking abilities is obtained, with Tcount 2.899 and Ttable 2.05, then Tcount 2.899 Ttable 2.05, thus based on the hypothesis it can be concluded that there is a significant influence on the value of students' critical thinking abilities using Problem Based Instruction learning model (H1 accepted and H0 rejected).

This study aimed to determine the effect of learning model combined Student Problem Based Learning Facilitator And Explaining the ability of critical thinking on the matter Kingdom Fungi in grade X SMAN 6 Kediri. This study was conducted in August and September of odd semester 2016/2017 academic year. This research was conducted by quasi-experimental research subjects in class X-9 and X-10. Parameters measured were critical thinking skills that are measured using posttest essay. The results were analyzed using critical thinking skills t test showed the t-test calculation results obtained Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 &lt;0.05. This study aims to improve the critical thinking skills of students of class XI IPA 2 MAN 2 Karawang on PPKn subjects through the Decision Making learning model. The use of this learning model is one of the efforts to improve critical thinking skills of students of class XI IPA 2 MAN 2 Karawang on PPKn subjects. The research method used in this study is the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, which is research conducted by teachers in their own class with the aim of improving their performance as teachers, so that student learning outcomes become more improved. The PTK model used is the Kemmis & Mc model. Taggart which consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The instruments used are test results, observation, and interviews. Learning outcomes tests are used to measure students' success in critical thinking skills in the subject of analyzing cases of threats to ideology, politics, economics, socio-culture, defense and security and strategies to overcome them in the frame of Bhineka Tungga Ika). Observation and interview using observation format and interview format. The results showed that the use of the Decision Making learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills in PPKn subjects. From the pre-action class average value 28.76, it becomes 49.41 in the first cycle, 67.53 in the second cycle, and 91.79 in the third cycle..
