Existing quantitative studies use various measurements and methods to examine Bourdieu's theory of cultural reproduction in the field of education, yet, most either misunderstand the conception, or only test part of the theory. This article addresses these gaps by using the "Structure-Disposition-Practice" framework to picture an integrated model of cultural reproduction. It aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the interrelationship between social position, parents' and student's dispositions, practices, and field empirically. Using the Chinese Educational Panel Survey (CEPS) we develop a Structural Equation Model (SEM) to test the theory. The results suggest parents' habitus plays a more crucial role in the cultural reproduction process than the family's social position in China. And social class may not be the primary source of educational inequality. The findings shed a light on quantitatively understanding the cultural reproduction process with relational thinking.

Existing quantitative studies use various measurements and methods to examine Bourdieu’s theory of cultural reproduction in the field of education. Yet, most studies either misunderstand the concepts involved or only test part of the theory. This article addresses these gaps by using the ‘structure-disposition-practice’ (SDP) framework to develop an integral model of cultural reproduction and it constructs a more precise measurement of habitus. It aims to provide an in-depth empirical understanding of the interrelationships between social position, parents’ and students’ dispositions, practices and field. Using the Chinese Educational Panel Survey (CEPS) the authors apply a structural equation model (SEM) to test their theoretical framework. They compare the cultural reproduction processes for cognitive development and academic achievements of eighth-grade students. The results suggest parents’ and students’ habitus plays a more crucial role than family’s social position in the cultural reproduction process. The study also finds that families’ social position is more important in reproducing students’ cognitive development than in academic achievements in China. The findings provide a quantitative understanding of the cultural reproduction process with relational thinking.

eHealth offers promising tools and services to manage and improve the quality of health as well as the potential to provide accessible health information all over the world. The relatively low adoption rates among eHealth users motivates us to develop an integrated model to explain the learning process and provide essential antecedents of eHealth behavioral intention. The integrated model is empirically tested by using different structural equation modeling (SEM) methods, including partial least squares SEM (PLS-SEM), PLSc, and covariance-based SEM (CB-SEM). The model successfully explains the learning process and provides essential antecedents of eHealth behavioral intention. The findings support the interplay of social, cognitive, and personal factors that impact 18-30-year-old users' learning process related to eHealth behavioral intention. The results empirically show that these three types of SEM techniques provide consistent results with respect to path coefficients and coefficients of determination. The findings indicate that CB-SEM and PLS-SEM provide adverse consequences of interaction-term path coefficients.

Young adults have a tendency to drive unsafely and put themselves at a high level of risk. Continuous lane-changing is one such kind of risky behavior. This study aimed to investigate the factors that influence young drivers based on an integrated model of the prototype willingness model (PWM) and the theory of planned behavior (TPB). The validity of the model was evaluated by data collected from 481 young drivers through an online questionnaire. The structural equation model was used to test the proposed model, and the findings indicated that young drivers’ willingness to engage in continuous lane-changing was influenced by attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, perceived risk, prototype similarity, and prototype favorability. The integrated model of PWM-TPB accounted for 58.3% of the variance in young drivers’ willingness, and the findings possess implications for designing effective interventions.

One of the robust explanation related to sociological educational inequality is Bourdieu’s cultural reproduction theory. Admittedly, prior work investigated that children’s cultural capital (CC) have significant effects on educational success. Although, it remain unclear in the context of developing countries specifically Vietnam. Also, how children’s conversion mechanism of CC works and drive educational success. Meanwhile, Bourdieu theory argue that CC effects educations outcomes largely via teachers biasness by using support of school grades, in contrast some of the scholars argue that absorption of children’s CC may directly transmit into educational abilities and skill development. This study employed partial least square structural equation modelling to analyze 5th grades students’ data collected from educational policy and data center. This study argue that conversion mechanism grounded on CC dimensions. This study provide implications for the policy makers and future researchers.

The Jemaah Tabligh dakwah approach study uses quantitative studies based on the Structural Equation Model (SEM) to analyze the various relationships between variables in the model. This study aims to develop and verify the validity and reliability of the instrument using the Exploration Factor Analysis (EFA) to measure the construction of religious charities, religious knowledge, method of delivery and emotional intelligence in the field of dakwah. This study has adapted the instruments developed by some earlier researchers, and also modified some statements in accordance with current studies. Therefore, it is necessary to re-run the Analysis of Factor Analysis of the Exploration (EFA), as the current study area may differ from previous studies, or the current study population is far different from previous studies in terms of socio-economic status, ethnicity and culture (Awang, 2010). Overall, the findings revealed that 15 items were abolished after the EFA was implemented. Only the reduction of items for the construction of the Ibadah Amal only, is 15 items. This reduction is due to a number of things that have been built before, no longer suitable for current studies or there are different item structures in current studies compared to previous study structures. The researchers need to recalculate the value of Internal Indicators of the current instrument for the new Alpha Cronbach value. Based on Awang’s suggestion (2010; 2012), researchers decided to carry out the EFA re-item to measure the construction and in this study will be described in detail the procedure for conducting an EFA analysis for each construction.

Abstract Background Research relating to Person-centred practice continues to expand and currently there is a dearth of statistical evidence that tests the validity of an accepted model of person-centred practice. The Person-centred Practice Framework is a leading model of practice and this study aims to examine it statistically. Methods A cross sectional survey design using a standardized tool was used to assess a purposive sample (n=1283, 31.8%) of multi-disciplinary health professionals across both Northern and Southern Ireland. Survey items scores were summed to provide construct scores and included in a structural model to examine the theoretical model of person-centred practice. Full ethical approval was gained. Results The results were drawn from a multi-disciplinary sample, and representing a broad range of clinical settings. The model explains 60.5% of the total variance. Factor loadings on to the second order latent construct, and fit statistics confirm the acceptability of the measurement model. Statistically significant factor loadings were acceptable. A positive and statistically significant relationship was observed between prerequisites and care environment as well as care processes. Conclusions The study provides statistical evidence to support the Person-centred Practice Framework, with a multidisciplinary sample. The findings help confirm the effectiveness of the PCPI-S and an instrument to measure an internationally renowned model of Person-centred practice.

Research relating to person-centred practice continues to expand and currently there is a dearth of statistical evidence that tests the validity of an accepted model for person-centred practice. The Person-centred Practice Framework is a midrange theory that is used globally, across a range of diverse settings. The aim of this study was to statistically examine the relationships within the Person-centred Practice Framework. A cross sectional survey design using a standardized tool was used to assess a purposive sample (n = 1283, 31.8%) of multi-disciplinary health professionals across Ireland. Survey construct scores were included in a structural model to examine the theoretical model of person-centred practice. The results were drawn from a multi-disciplinary sample, and represented a broad range of clinical settings. The model explains 60.5% of the total variance. Factor loadings on the second order latent construct, along with fit statistics, confirm the acceptability of the measurement model. Statistically significant factor loadings were also acceptable. A positive, statistically significant relationship was observed between components of the Person-centred Practice Framework confirming it’s theoretical propositions. The study provides statistical evidence to support the Person-centred Practice Framework, with a multidisciplinary sample. The findings help confirm the effectiveness of the Person-Centred Practice Index for-Staff as an instrument that is theoretically aligned to an internationally recognised model for person-centred practice.

The study examined the effect of digital banking on competitiveness in deposit money banks in Nigeria. The study revealed that there are types of measures of digital banking. These measures are the internal and external digital banking. The measures of competitiveness used in the study are value-added services, quality of service and innovation. The descriptive survey design was employed. The primary source of data was used, and a 7-point Likert scale questionnaire was administered to 312 respondents. Data were analysed using the structural equation model. The results reveal that digital banking affects competitiveness in Nigerian deposit banks. The result further reveals that internal digital banking is the most significant variable in digital banking, while innovation is the most significant variable in measuring competitiveness. The study recommends that deposit money banks invest more in digital banking, especially their internal process, because this will give them a competitive advantage by adding value to customers, increasing quality of services and making them more innovative. Keywords: Digitalisation, competitiveness, dynamic capabilities, value added, innovation.
