Research relating to person-centred practice continues to expand and currently there is a dearth of statistical evidence that tests the validity of an accepted model for person-centred practice. The Person-centred Practice Framework is a midrange theory that is used globally, across a range of diverse settings. The aim of this study was to statistically examine the relationships within the Person-centred Practice Framework. A cross sectional survey design using a standardized tool was used to assess a purposive sample (n = 1283, 31.8%) of multi-disciplinary health professionals across Ireland. Survey construct scores were included in a structural model to examine the theoretical model of person-centred practice. The results were drawn from a multi-disciplinary sample, and represented a broad range of clinical settings. The model explains 60.5% of the total variance. Factor loadings on the second order latent construct, along with fit statistics, confirm the acceptability of the measurement model. Statistically significant factor loadings were also acceptable. A positive, statistically significant relationship was observed between components of the Person-centred Practice Framework confirming it’s theoretical propositions. The study provides statistical evidence to support the Person-centred Practice Framework, with a multidisciplinary sample. The findings help confirm the effectiveness of the Person-Centred Practice Index for-Staff as an instrument that is theoretically aligned to an internationally recognised model for person-centred practice.

A positive and statistically significant relationship was observed between prerequisites and care environment as well as care processes.Conclusions The study provides statistical evidence to support the Person-centred Practice Framework, with a multidisciplinary sample. The findings help confirm the effectiveness of the PCPI-S and an instrument to measure an internationally renowned model of Person-centred practice.

Office occupants’ have always preferred workplaces that have windows that connects them to the outside. Window access to the outside can influence occupants’ satisfaction with the combination of other workplace features. This study aims to identify the window and view factors relationship in the workplace, to confirm the reliability and validity of the measurement and structural model. Adopting a cross-sectional survey design, primary data from five offices in the Kogi State of Nigeria with 267 respondents were collected by using the convenience sampling method and analysis was performed with the Statistical Package for Social Science version 23 and AMOS 22.0 version as the modelling tool. The study identified eleven vital factors that are interrelated in the relationship between windows and view in the workplace. They are referred to as latent construct namely; Window distance (WDB), Seating arrangement (SAB), Room height (FHB), Office size (OSB), Window position (WPB), Window Sill level (WLC), Window size (SWC), Window type (TWC), View content (CVC), View satisfaction (VSC), and Occupants’ satisfaction (SAT). The result showed a valid model using the Structural Equation Model, and the effect of the current workplace negligence on occupants’. This study improves the existing knowledge on the window and view relationship in the workplace, and provide suggestions for Facility Managers, Architects, and Interior Designers on maintaining a healthy workplace environment


This study was conducted to empirically validate a Leadership Element in Blended Learning Scale (LEBLAS) for the Leadership Element of blended learning for integration into teaching and learning of Automobile Technology Programmes in Nigerian tertiary institutions. A cross-sectional survey design was employed with a sample of 360 technical teacher educators in Nigeria. The developed initial a Leadership Element contained 6 items was administered to the sample. The responses were organized coded and use as data for the analysis. Structural Equation modelling was used to analyses the data using Confirmatory Factor Analysis after varying the data for normality. The results revealed a valid and reliable instrument with 43 items. Findings of the study showed that the measurement model indicated that, LEBLAS satisfied the absolute fit, incremental fit, and parsimonious fit requirement of SEM. The measurement model was able to achieve a Chi-square value with a degree of freedom at p=0.000. The indices used in measuring the absolute fit are: Standardized Root Mean Square Residual (SRMR) and RMSEA having achieved a value. Similarly, the measurement model has achieved a CFI value and TLI value. Therefore, with the satisfaction of all the measurement requirements, the developed LEBLAS validated in this study can be used to assess the Leadership Element of Blended learning implementation in the instructional strategies of Nigerian tertiary institutions’ Automobile Technology Programmes

COVID-19 has created a killing field for SME as one of national economics pillars. Business resilience becomes crucial issue. It has stimulated the owner and/or managers of SME to do many things for saving the SME from its bankruptcy rationally and/or irrationally. This study aimed to elaborate business resilience and to test the impact of rational and irrational factors on business resilience. The rational factors consist of: (1) implementation of health protocol in doing business, (2) developing business flexibility, and (4) improving alliance capability. The rational factors consist of (4) enhancing pro-social leadership a (5) conducting workplace spirituality. This study is cross-sectional survey with causal approach for testing five hypothesizes. Convenience method was used as sampling method. This study involved 506 small medium enterprises in Jawa and Sumatera, the two biggest islands in Indonesia. Collected data were structured with PLS based Structural Equation Modelling. Proposed research model was described into second order construct and tested by validity and reliability analysis, measurement model analysis and structural model analysis. The work pressure of health personnel has remained a challenge ravaging the efficiency of their indispensable roles in saving other lives and their satisfaction with the management of their own family lives. This study related possible linkages between personality traits and work family conflicts among health personnel. A cross sectional survey design was adopted and 260 (male 116 (44.4%) and female 144 (55.6%)) from six state owned hospitals were randomly selected to participate in this study. They responded to Big Five Inventory (BFI) and Work Family Conflict Scale, both of which are standardized instruments. Four hypotheses were tested and the structural equation model (SEM) with AMOS 26 results revealed a significant positive relationship between work-family conflict and neuroticism. Work-family conflict was negatively linked with openness and agreeableness. Neuroticism (β = 0.320, CR = 5.355, p < 0.001) and openness (β = -0.125, CR = -2.111, p < 0.05) significantly predicted work-family conflict positively and negatively respectively. All the personality traits jointly explained 12% variance in work-family conflict. Age was not found to significantly predict work-family conflict. SPSS 23 results showed a statistically significant reliable difference between the mean scores of the work-family conflict of doctors compared with nurses [t (258) = 2.58, p < .05]. The implications of the findings are discussed in line with family focused hospital management policies.

AbstractStress is concomitant with students’ life and can have a significant impact on their lives, and even how they go about their academic work. Globally, in every five visits by patients to the doctor, three are stress-related problems. This study examined stress and its impact on the academic and social life among students of a university in Ghana. The descriptive cross-sectional survey design was employed. Using the stratified and simple random (random numbers) sampling methods, 500 regular undergraduate students were engaged in the study. A questionnaire made up of Perceived Stress Scale and Students’ Life Satisfaction Scale was used to gather data for the study. Frequencies, percentages, means and standard deviation, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), with AMOS were used for the analyses. It was found that majority of the students were moderately stressed. Paramount among the stressors were academic stressors, followed by institutional stressors, and external stressors. Stress had a significant positive impact on the academic and social life of students. It was concluded that undergraduate students, in one way or the other, go through some kind of stress during the course of their study. It was recommended that the university, through its Students’ Affairs, and Counselling Sections, continue to empower students on how to manage and deal with stress in order to enhance their academic life.

Purpose This paper aims to examine the influence of records management on the performance of procurement management units (PMUs) in Tanzania. Design/methodology/approach To meet the objective of the study, cross-sectional survey design and quantitative approaches were used for data collection and analysis. Preliminary analysis of the data was carried out using descriptive statistics and structural equation modelling was then used to analyse the influence of records management standards on procurement performance. The data were collected from 164 government PMUs in Tanzania. Findings The findings revealed that records management attributes significantly affect procurement performance in Tanzania. Furthermore, government policy and integrity factors confound the association between records management and procurement performance. Practical implications The policymakers and practitioners of public procurement are required to be aware of records management principles and how each related factor influences the performance of PMUs. They should emphasise proper storage and housing, equipment, arrangement and access and implement electronic records management. Originality/value This study shows how the ISO 15489 model can be applied to public procurement processes. This study also provides the lesson that procurement records need to be protected to ensure their authenticity, reliability, integrity and useability.

Serial argument theory explains recurring conflict within personal relationships. The theory specifies that an arguer’s goals influence his/her tactics, leading to argument outcomes which include effects on the relationship. We extend this model in two ways. First we suggest that attachment styles predict serial argument goals. Second, we hypothesize that taking conflict personally (TCP) is an outcome of such arguments. University students (N = 682) completed a cross-sectional survey about their attachment styles and felt personalization regarding a serial argument they experienced. A structural equation model tested relationships between attachment styles, goals, tactics, outcomes, and TCP. Results indicated that attachment styles predict goals of serial arguing and serial argument outcomes predict TCP. The study shows that attachment styles have modest but statistically significant effects on goals of serial arguing in close relationships and that the tactics used in serial arguing predict the degree to which people take recurring conflict personally.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is the measurement of forensic accounting’s (FA) impact on sustainable corporate governance (SCG) within Omani public listed companies. Beyond merely cataloging the latest criminal innovations and SCG problems, this paper offers a path forward to overcome the myriad threats that can harm the organization and society. FA and SCG can achieve, anticipate and prevent tomorrow’s fraud today before organizations reach the point of no return. Design/methodology/approach For this study, FA is an independent variable and SCG is the dependent variable. This study used a descriptive cross-sectional survey design. Data are collected by internet-based tool and analyzed via partial least squares structural equation modeling and Statistical Package for Social Sciences. Findings Result suggests that FA has a significant direct impact over SCG; moreover, FA can become the part of governance management toward the elimination of fraud and achievement of SCG. Practical implications This study can assist regulators, professional bodies and organizations in amending their codes of corporate governance and organizational policies by introducing the SCG clauses and making FA as a compulsory part of governance system. Originality/value Up to the best of the knowledge of researchers, there is no study conducted before which verifies the FA impact on SCG; moreover, previous relevant studies verify only one constituent for SCG, whereas this study is identifying three constituents necessary for SCG.

This research explored the role of athlete on- and off-field brand image on consumer commitment toward the athlete and associated team, preference by the athlete’s sponsor, and the mediating effect of consumers’ self-brand connection on these relationships. Data were collected from fans of soccer players through a cross-sectional survey promoted on social media platforms. A partial least squares structural equation model examined the direct effects of both athlete brand dimensions on athlete commitment, team commitment, and athlete sponsor preference, and the indirect effects mediated via self-brand connection. The results indicate that an athlete’s on-field image is significantly related to athlete sponsor preference, while the off-field image influences athlete commitment and team commitment. Self-brand connection is influenced by athlete off-field image and mediates the relationship between off-field image and athlete commitment. This study contributes to a better understanding of how to manage athlete brands and linkages between fans, athletes, and associated entities.
