This paper examines the social representations of knowledge about the family and school contribution in academic achievement in a sample of elementary grade students, parents and teachers. Previous research explored the social representations of educability (Raty & Snellman, 1998), intelligence (Miguel, Valentim, & Carugati, 2010), academic achievement (Sinha & Mishra, 2015), and teachership (Martikainen, 2019) in the school context and showed their multidimensional picture. This research indicates participants’ role and identity matters in their social representations. The polysemic understanding of family and school contribution are discussed.

The present paper seeks to identify the social representations of the family and school contribution in students’ academic achievement. Earlier studies have taken family and school contribution in terms of taken for granted causal factors but how they are embedded in our everyday understanding and interactions may provide an alternative perspective. The qualitative methodology of content and correspondence analysis of categorical data derived from interviews and written responses from parents, teachers and students are utilized. It is discussed that family and school contributions are not just representations as portrayed in the dominant theories but its notions depend upon the identities and roles people are conscious. However, people think in a context which may further have shaped by the interaction patterns, so, social representations becomes not some stagnant appropriations but crosses the boundaries of mainstream understanding. Thus family and school contributions comprise multidimensional pictures and diversified meanings which are not particularly dependent upon the given or generally expected notions of family and school contributions to academic achievement.

Children are influenced by multiple contexts, including their families and schools. Research on children with lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) parents has primarily focused on their experiences within their families, with little attention to experiences in the school context. The lack of research on the family–school interface of LGB parent families is troubling because these families are vulnerable to marginalization, exclusion, and stigma in the broader society, which likely extend to the school environment. This chapter reviews research on the academic achievement, social functioning, and bullying of children with LGB parents. When relevant, the author emphasizes race/ethnicity, social class, geographic location, and other key social locations that may shape the experiences of LGB–parent families, then addresses research on LGB parents themselves, including their experiences in selecting and interacting with their children’s schools. The chapter ends with recommendations for educators and practitioners who may encounter LGB parent families.

- By a detailed analysis of derived (secondary) data, in his essay FrudÀ demonstrates that both individuals' and collective new modalities of alimentary styles and food consumption assumed as a whole, as well as the individuals' and social indentity's values there with related, have changed because of a structural retuning of social and demographic nature; and that such a reset has produced the most directly discernible outcome that the family has progressively lost its central role as the organizer of the day by day collective behaviours and of the group's identity processes. The social and anthropological thought concerns the circumstance that the daily life turns out to be increasingly an extraordinary and fragmentized frame and, similiarly, that the conventional social representations focussed on the way of being of the families meant as a social and collective expressionof the every day nature have changed. Divergently, simbolic value of the collective dimension, which is not anymore a day after day matter, gets strenghtened as long as it amounts to an odd event: also, it leads to further symbolic and representational significances able to permeate, in a shared shape, lifes' tracks. In this context, it appears as effective as never more the "glocal" concept in connection with food and alimentary cultures.Key-words: food, life-style, glocalization, family, simbolic value, sociology.Parole-chiave: cibo, stile di vita, glocalizzazione, famiglia, valore simbolico, sociologia.

Statement of the problem. The formation of conscious parenting involves systematic work with real and potential parents. In order for the system of psychological and pedagogical support of parents to be effective, it is important to understand the problematic field of modern parenting, current and potential requests for psychological assistance from the family. We believe that one of the ways to solve this problem is to study the social ideas of modern parents about various aspects of the phenomenon of parenting. The purpose of the article is to present a comparative analysis of the semantic cores of ideas about a “good mom” and a “good dad” in adults with and without children, as well as children themselves. Materials and methods. The methodological basis of the research was the concept of social representations of S. Moskovichi, generalized research in the field of social representations of Russian and foreign scientists (G.M. Andreeva, E.Yu. Volovikova, T.P. Emelyanova, L.G. Pochebut, E.V. Yakimova, J.C. Abrik, P. Verges, D. Jaudelet), as well as research in the field of parenting (A.A. Abramova, L. A. Gritsay, E. V. Evdokimova, O. A. Karabanova, R. V. Ovcharova, K. N. Polivanova, G. G. Filippova, etc.). The main methods were free associative experiment, content analysis, the method of semantic universals. A total of 96 people took part in the study. Research results. The core of the concept of “good” moms and dads, parenting in adults with and without children, and the children themselves, is love and care. The key indicator that parents are “good” for all groups of respondents is the quality of communication, relationships, and interaction. The perceptions of all groups of respondents about the roles of mom and dad are quite traditional and gender typical. Ideas about how parental love is expressed also correspond to traditional gender schemes: mom feeds and caresses, dad plays and is fun to spend time with. At the same time, it can be noted that in the view of respondents with children, the image of a father shifts from the typically masculine towards a combination of masculine and feminine qualities. The experience of parenting encourages parents to reconsider their ideas about the image and role of the mother. Conclusion. The greatest weight in all three groups of respondents was given to the characteristic of a “kind” parent. But we cannot say whether the respondents put the same understanding of this manifestation into the association. It can be assumed that one of the reasons for conflict interactions in the family is the different meaning that children and parents put into the concept of “kindness”. This requires additional study, and may be a continuation of our research. It can also be noted that the image of an “ideal” parent is perceived by potential parents as costly (in terms of time, emotionally, physically, etc.), which can be one of the reasons for postponing the birth of a child. Therefore, it is important to work with young people in the direction of correcting their social ideas about parenting.
