Having a high reading interest is vital for the progress of a country. Everyone has a reading interest, but still needs encouragement from their individual self and the outside world. Reading interest in Indonesia is very low compared to other countries. This occurrence was influenced by the rapid development of technology, especially among young Indonesian teenagers who generally prefer playing on their gadgets than reading books. In increasing reading interest, the use of language has become a pioneer in growing reading interest among young people, especially in digital novels. Along with the development of language in a novel, philosophy is still contained in an element of language in the novel as well as other related elements. In the end, it was the elements in the novel that played a role in increasing the reading interest of teenagers. This study used qualitative methods and conducted a survey as well. Qualitative data obtained by literature study with reliable sources and reduction to obtain important information. In addition, surveys serve to collect information from large amounts of data or small samples. The collection of quantitative data is in the form of a questionnaire distributed in accordance with the provisions of the questionnaire, namely, adolescents aged 17-24 years domiciled in East Java. This study aims to analyze the effect of using language in Indonesian digital novels on the reading interest of teenagers in East Java province. From this research, it can be concluded that the linguistic element plays an important role in increasing reading interest. This can be illustrated by the respondents' interest in the interesting storyline and the relationship between the meaning of the novel and the feelings they experience. In addition, an interesting storyline is composed of language and the continuity of the story so as to form a meaning that is easily understood by the reader.

This study sought to establish the relationship between boards of governors' (BOGs) roles and management of government aided secondary schools in Kyenjojo District. The objectives were to establish the relationship between BOGs' planning role and management of government aided secondary schools, to establish the relationship between BOGs' supervisory role and management of government aided secondary schools, to establish the relationship between BOGs' control role and management of government aided secondary schools; and to determine the major predictor of management of government aided secondary schools out of the three aspects of BOGs' roles. A correlational research design was used. A total of 90 respondents drawn from 108 BOGs and nine head teachers were selected as sample for the study using stratified random sampling and census inquiry respectively. The instruments used were questionnaire and interview guide. Quantitative data was analysed using Pearson product-moment correlation and regression, while thematic analysis was used on qualitative data. The study found a statistically moderate positive and significant relationship between BOGs' planning role and management of government aided secondary schools (r=.626, p=.000); a statistically moderate positive and significant relationship between BOGs' supervisory role and management of government aided secondary schools(r=.591, p=.000); and a statistically weak positive and significant relationship between BOGs' control role and management of government aided secondary schools(r=.280, p=.015). All the three aspects of BOGs roles account for 38.4% of the influence on management of government aided secondary schools in Kyenjojo district (adjusted r2=0.384, p=.000). The researchers recommend that BOGs should be well trained in management of schools in order to be effective in their work. Head teachers should not be dictators but create a conducive climate for planning, supervision and control by the BOGs.

In this research, it was aimed to interculturally research the value of patience with the data obtained from the students who participated in the study from two different countries. The research was designed as a mixture of quantitative and qualitative methods. Accordingly, the Traditional Screening Technique based on quantitative data and the Phenomenological Technique based on qualitative data were used together in the research. In this study, the patience levels of university students were generally calculated high. The patience levels of Turkish students were discovered to be lower than those of Kyrgyz students. According to the results of the interviews, there are differences in Turkish and Kyrgyz students' understanding of patience. It is seen that Turkish students attribute the value of patience to religion, believing that patience is transferred to Turks from religion, while Kyrgyz students associate patience with their cultural traditions. It is thought that this study will contribute to values and character education, especially to the literature on patience. The relationship and differences between the patience levels of university students and different variables and their effects on each other can be researched. Programs can be developed to increase the patience levels of university students.

This article explores the relationship between personal sacrifice and identity work within conditions of profound structural insecurity. We develop the concept of sacrificial labour to describe how individual self-sacrifice aligns workers’ identities to the needs of organizations while gradually foreclosing the actualization of individuals’ desired future selves. Drawing upon qualitative data from a longitudinal study of healthy individuals who enrol in paid clinical trials for the pharmaceutical industry, we make two contributions to the identity-work literature. First, we argue that the ongoing project of building stable and secure identities may become damaging when structural and cultural conditions defy even provisional, fragile attainment of this goal. Second, we reflect on how racialization and social marginalization erode identities and constrain possibilities for identity recuperation. Whereas the identity-work literature often focuses on the agential accomplishments of individuals, we provide a troubling account of how persistent social and economic inequalities confound identity realization efforts.

Promotion of tourism is necessary to enable the sector generate revenue to the county and improve the livelihood of the people around the area. The objective of the study was therefore to assess existing communication messages for promotion of tourism in Homabay county. In Kenya many tourists continue to ock certain destinations that have been frequently visited over the years, such as the Coastal and Nairobi Circuits. The study therefore sought to nd out if the missing link in tourism promotion in Homabay county was communication messages. The study was guided by Media framing theory. The approach used was mixed and data was collected using questionnaires that were issued to tourists, interviews with Homabay county government ofcials and with employees of Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS). Custodians of the selected tourists' sites were also interviewed. Homabay county integrated development plan was also analyzed. A sample of 93 tourists took part, the entire population of the remaining categories of the respondents was used in the study, totaling to 100 participants. Qualitative data was analysed thematically using manual open coding and NVivo 11 software while quantitative data was analysed statistically using SPSS 23.0. The study established that the promotional messages contained cultural and historical information while highlighting the uniqueness of the sites. Framing of messages for tourism promotion in a persuasive and convincing manner evokes in the actual or potential tourists the desire to visit a tourist's destination.

The Summation Rule of Burger and Dorgelo in the hands of R. H. Fowler, Mulliken, Dieke and others, has led to the rapid development of theoretical intensity relations. For some time only qualitative data were available, but with the development of intensity measurement technique, quantitative data are accumulating to test the theoretical predictions. Work of a quantitative nature on the band spectrum of Helium has been carried out by Childs, Fujioka, and Read, who have made measurements on the 4650 band, the "decoupling bands," and the λ 6400 band respectively.
