The purpose of this research is to find out and analyze, how the implementation of policies of the Mayor of Binjai in terms of improving the quality and quality of public services, especially transportation services to the people of Binjai City. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative using the Merille S. Grindle theory where there are several variables that determine the effectiveness of policy implementation. From the results of the study it can be seen that after the implementation of the Mayor's Regulation at the Binjai City Transportation Agency, there was a change where previously the transportation management process, which had been in PD Angkutan Kota Binjai using transportation costs and other transportation, is now transferred to the Transportation Office to manage it with free of charge so that it can make it easier for people to carry out daily activities using Trans Binjai.

In 2018 Trans Siginjai officially began operations in the city of Jambi, with a route connecting Jambi City with Muaro Jambi District. Passing the length of the route is 19 Km, passing through two large campuses in Jambi Province. Making this BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) mode has a potential market among the community of student groups. Preliminary observations were made and several studies showed that the 1 year period after the operation of the BRT showed a condition that was not optimal. The solution offered from the service done is to see how actually the transport facilities owned by Jambi Province have a lot of additional potential besides being the only mass transportation on this route. The potential that can be raised by the TransTiginjai BRT is Multiple effects of education, ecology, economics. the target of service is students and the community who live in the city of Jambi. The method used is by activating the local community and optimizing the use of digital media with the main output being various multimedia content. After the activities have not been made significant changes have occurred but there has been an increase in awareness among media users who are targeted for service, namely those from students. From the academic side, this service also tries to prove that the synergy of the community, academics and authorities is able to provide a real solution for a city and the people who live in it.

Appropriate and accurate detection of the people like the elderly and patients suffering from imbalanced-oriented problems is a significant step to implement the necessary actions in order to enhance quality of life and increase their independence during their life. The aim of this paper was to investigate the differences in performance of parametric and non-parametric classifiers in recognition of daily activities of people. As daily affairs of human being can change dynamically, new patterns may emerge as well as an old habit may be forgotten or stopped to be used. It is difficult to build a classifier that will have a full description of all possible ways to perform an activity. In this research, for exact identification of everyday activities, data collected from information of four accelerometers in noteworthy points of body which have the greatest role in the process of identifying and separating activities. This dataset was acquired from UCI Machine Learning database. After extraction of convenient features, different algorithms including KNN and Neuro-fuzzy classifiers were applied to data to check the rate of accuracy in exact recognition of daily activities. The results showed that the KNN classifier as anon-parametric classifier encompasses the highest accuracy rate of about 99.758[Formula: see text]. It is concluded that recognizing activities using multiple small body-worn accelerometers and implementing an optimized unobtrusive approach can lead us to a significant result.

ABSTRACTThe Government of Semarang have sought to develop a mass transportation system using theconcept of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Mangkang‐Penggaron corridor. In order to effectivelyfacilitate the movement of city dwellers, the BRT system required the provision of functioningshelters along the corridor. There is a need to optimize the function of the shelters including theintegration to other modes of transportation and to the activities of the Central Business District(CBD), ensuring optimum performance of the whole BRT system. This study determined andevaluated the quality of BRT shelter services in Semarang based on user perception. The studyemployed analysis regarding the fulfillment of criteria for quality of services including waitingtime, convenience, service reliability, distance, and BRT shelter clerk services. The analysisprocesses concluded that the current BRT shelter services were in fact less than ideal. The studyfound lack of maintenance and the need for improvement of services at rush hour.Keywords: evaluation, quality of services, and bus shelter

AbstractPeople with multiple sclerosis are faced with numerous challenges which in turn may affect the things they want to do or have a need to do. Very often, constraints caused by the disease reduce their ability to cope with and meet their responsibilities at home, at work and within a broader community transforming simple daily activities into daily frustrations.The main goal of the research process was to present the life of persons with multiple sclerosis in the Republic of Macedonia, the problems they face every day, and the way they exceed them. We used the methods of structural, descriptive and functional analysis, as well as the method of generalization. We applied data (document) analysis, scaling and inquiry, and as a basic instrument we used a questionnaire composed of a combination of several scaling and index assessments. There was a convenient sample of the research composed of 32 persons with multiple sclerosis over the age of 18, and the results were obtained by a statistical analysis of the data and application of the combination of chi square tests, with a p<0.05 level of significance.According to the results of the Index of disability, 47% of the people with multiple sclerosis have limited independence in providing daily activities leading up to 31% of the examinees with rare participation in the everyday social activities, the result obtained by the Frenchay Index of activities. We can conclude that the Index of disability is higher with older respondents and it is often followed by a drop of the daily activity frequency.

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is one of public vehicle systems in modern cities to provide transportation services fast, confortable, and cost saving. However, effectiveness of one BRT route depends on the locations of its stops. This study focuses on determining optimal locations to build the stops of a BRT route. Firstly, criteria having influences on effective operation of a BRT stop are explorered, consisting of i) traveling demands, e.g. buildings, offices, industrial parks, hopitals, etc; ii) public transportations, e.g. metro stations, bus stops, etc; and iii) roads, e.g. crossroads, parking lots, etc. Secondly, each criterion is assigned a weighted factor representative for its influence, determined by the AHP method. Finally, the progress of data processing in GIS environment is established to create a weighted overlay map from all criteria. Subsequently, locations having high values are reasonable to build BRT stops. This progress has been applied to locate BRT stops of the Vo Van Kiet – Mai Chi Tho route in Ho Chi Minh City. The result indicates 40 BRT stops along this route, and it is considered as a scientific reference to help the city government in decision making.

Considering the increasing amount of traffic congestion and inconvenient travelling experiences a system needs to be designed to provide a hassle free travel which alleviates the travelling experience of the commuter and thrives them to choose this technology over any conventional implemented system or driving by own self. The system is designed to integrate a large number of areas together in order to create an efficient and economical system for the passengers to travel over long distances with comfort and safety. The Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) which is a public transport service is designed to mitigate the drawbacks of the previous systems as well as implement technologies in various domains including location tracking , communication services , monitoring and creating a detailed comparison with the conventional transportation services on multiple parameters in order to create a distinction and focus on the factors that make BRTS a much better mode of transportation as compared to the conventional transportation methods.

Preferences of heavy rail (HR) system users are studied in relation to the system’s alignment and bus connections in the context of a developing city. Stated preferences techniques are applied to estimate the monetary value of a long set of attributes of a new mass transit service: HR connected to bus rapid transit (BRT). Attributes include time, fare, bicycle storage at stations, stairways, feeder bus integration, integration with BRT, type of bus service, bus itinerary, and quality of buses. The long set of attributes deserved three stated preference experiments grouped by time and fare, characteristics of HR, and characteristics of BRT. They were linked by the common attribute of the fare. Results of the values of the attributes are presented. The value of the preference for HR is reduced to 8% when a feeder bus is not offered and the HR route does not reach downtown. The value of a feeder bus using small vehicles is higher than the value of BRT even if BRT operates with new buses and express service to downtown. Bicycle storage or escalators have no value for the prospective passenger. After the response of users to the new services is analyzed, conclusions for the operational design of the system are presented.

Traffic congestion in major cities is a major problem which is growing steadily every year. It is clear that something must be done to curb this trend. Several different concepts are being investigated which can be used to minimize congestion and improve the traffic flow. Automation of the bus system represents one of those methods, and is the focus of this paper. Currently, public opinion of the quality of bus services is generally not perceived as adequate. Buses generally travel about 60% of the speed of other vehicles, and more often than not adherence to schedule is difficult to achieve. The consequence is that people choose to take personal transportation instead, causing increased congestion. Automation seeks to address this issue by offering decreased travel times, increased schedule adherence, and greater overall convenience compared to the current bus systems. The concept of automation is based on expanding upon the ideas of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and making the system as efficient as possible.
