Developing instructional multimedia for teaching line and angle to the seventh grade students of junior high school

This study was aimed at : (1) developing an instructional multimedia design  for teaching line and angle to the seventh grade students of junior high school;  (2) describing  the result of the implementation of the multimedia using GeoGebra as media of  exploration, Camtasia Studio  as  an application for sound and  video editing, Lectora Inspire  as the application for making layout and quiz;(3) finding out the validity of the multimedia  for teaching line and angle to the seventh grade students of junior high school. The study used DDD-E model that consists of deciding, design, develop, and evaluate stages.  The product was tried out in several stages which were done by instructional materials experts, and students at different schools and used qualitative and descriptive quantitative data analysis techniques.  The result showed that the multimedia for teaching line and angle could be accepted as  instructional media with the average score of  43.5 from the instructional material experts falling into valid criterion,  and the mean score given by the material experts  was17 falling into valid criterion. The multimedia that has been developed also got a very good response from the students with the average score of 47.63. Based on the result that has been obtained, the multimedia that has been developed as a good qualification and is good for use in the process of teaching the topics of line and angle.

The purpose of this research is to find the type of grammatical error in students’ writing descriptive text made by the seventh graders of junior high school in Cimahi.The population consists of five classes, and we took 20 students to be sample. The study found out that the types of grammatical error are: Omission, Addition,Misformation and Misordering. The total of each type of error are: Omission 39.34%, Misordering 28.68%, Addition 18.03%, and Misformation 13.93%. Based on the research, it can be assumed that students usually miss to put a word like to be must appear in a well-formed sentence. And the lowest frequently of error is misformation, it is because in descriptive text there are rarely use plural words.

This research aims at designing a learning media which named LEEF (Learning English Easy and Fun) as English learning media for seventh grade students of Junior High School. This learning media consists of some materials and exercises which is appropriate and feasible to be studied for students. All materials in this media are based on junior high school syllabus of K13 curriculum. The research method used in this research is Research and Development. This development used ADDIE model which have several steps, those are; 1) Analysis, 2) Design, 3) Development, 4) Implementation, and 5) Evaluation. The result of this research shows that from the media validation result got 4.00 score it was in “fair and worth to use” category, and the material validation got 3.86 score. The students’ responses of try out result score 4.26 were in “fair and worth to use” category. By having those result, this LEEF (Learning English Easy and Fun) is feasible to be used as a learning media for seventh grade students of junior high school. Furthermore this research can be used as reference to other researchers in developing English learning media in different level of students.

The development of a teaching material must be based on the analysis of student needs. Development of teaching materials have to be able to answer or solve problems or difficulties in learning. This study aims to know the development of writing folk poetry teaching material according to the materials expert team with copy the master technique for seventh grade student of junior high school 1 Rantau Selatan, in Labuhan Batu District. This study was conducted by using Probability Sampling technique. The result shows that all teachers and students need modules in the learning process. Teaching material products developed in folk poetry writing materials with copy the master learning technique for seventh grade students of junior high school 1 Rantau Selatan meet the requirements and are appropriate to use based on the validation of material experts and design experts.

This thesis was concerned with the inquiry on the correlations among learning motivation, self-confidence, and writing ability of the seventh grade students at State Junior High School of Lubai Ulu Sub-District of Muaraenim Regency. The problem of the study was to investigate the correlation among students’ learning motivation, self-confidence, and writing ability. The total number of the population were 474 students. The sample for this study was 83 students taken through a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected by adopting a questionnaire for learning motivation, self-confidence, and test for writing ability. Data were analyzed by using r-Product Moment and Multiple Regression. Finding showed that: (1) there was significant correlation between learning motivation and writing ability; (2) there was not any significant correlation between self-confidence and writing ability; (3) there was not any significant correlation between learning motivation and self-confidence; (4) there were significant correlations among learning motivation, self-confidence, and writing ability of seventh grade-students at state Junior High School of Lubai Ulu Muaraenim.

This study aims to describe students' responses toward the implementation of Mindomo in writing description text at seventh-grade students in Cimahi. This study used descriptive qualitative methods. The participant of the study is 33 students’ junior high school in Cimahi. The result of this study showed that the implementation of Mindomo in teaching writing descriptive text gave positive responses to  81,80%. This positive response was shown with the enthusiasm of students during the learning process. Aspects of attention get the largest average score of around 24.54, which shows students are more interested in the learning process of writing using the Mindomo application. Besides, the aspect of confidence and satisfaction get the lowest score 12, it can be seen that the students are lack of confidence and have a fear of writing.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar Matematika materi irisan dan gabungan dua himpunan dengan menerapkan Portal Rumah Belajar pada Kelas VII A SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surabaya tahun ajaran 2012 - 2013. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dua siklus dan tiap siklus terdiri dari 4 langlah yaitu : (1) perencanaan, (2) pelaksanaan, (3) observasi, dan (4) refleksi.Hasil penelitian Penggunaan Portal Rumah Belajar pada siswa Kelas VII A SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surabaya, terbukti meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa, sebelum tindakan siswa yang tuntas belajar sebanyak 22 siswa atau 73,3 %, pada Siklus I siswa yang tuntas sebanyak 23 siswa atau 76,7 %. sedangkan pada Siklus II siswa yang tuntas sebanyak 28 siswa atau 93,3 %. Dengan demikian kualitas pembelajaran dari sebelum tindakan sampai dengan Siklus II terjadi peningkatan. Saran dalam PTK ini adalah: Guru harus memotivasi siswa untuk belajar secara inovatif mempergunakan media pembelajaran. Guru hendaknya memiliki paradigma bahwa guru bukan satu-satunya sumber belajar. Pembelajaran Matematika hendaknya disampaikan dengan menggunakan media yang mampu menyenangkan siswa dan mampu membuat siswa aktif. Kata Kunci: Himpunan, Portal Rumah BelajarAbstract: Math is considered difficult and students have less motivation in learning math. That is why teacher must provide approprite learning medium to ease the students to learn math. The aim of this study was to increase students’ mathematic learning achievement on intersection set and union set by applying the Portal Rumah Belajar for Seventh Grade A of Muhammadiyah 1 Junior High School Surabaya year 2012 - 2013. The design of the study was Classroom Action Research. In this study two cycles were conducted, and each of which consisted of 4 steps, namely: (1) plan, (2) act, (3) observe, and (4) reflect. The use of Portal Rumah Belajar could increase the achievement of seventh grade students of Muhammadiyah 1 Junior High School Surabaya. The number of student passing the competency in the pre-action was 22 students or 73.3%, in the cycle was 23 students or 76.7%, and in the cycle II were 28 students or 93.3%. Thus the quality of learning increased between pre-action and the second cycle. Recommendation from this classroom action research was: teacher should motivate students to learn innovatively by using instructional media. Teachers should have a paradigm that teacher was not the only source of learning. Learning math should be submitted using the media to please students and be able to keep students active.
