Based on the analysis of scientific resources, the role of educational environment in personal building, development and education is actualized. It is stated that educational environment is one of the most essential factors of those processes. The author’s definitions of notions “educational environment”, “educational environment of institution of higher education” are given. The authors advocate the point that educational environment is a system of facilities for personal education. It is emphasized that the environmental approach in education is changing accents in teaching which is aimed at creating and developing educational environment, which has to meet educational needs of a student. The author’s technique of evaluating the state of educational environment of institution of higher education is grounded and approved, the rating scale of this technique is introduced. The technique suggests making expert evaluation of educational environment of institution of higher education according to qualitative (modality) and quantitative (professional breadth, professional saturation, sociocultural intensity, congruence, openness, mobility, informativeness) parameters. The typology of educational environment of institution of higher education is presented (innovative-professional, formal-professional, pragmatically-oriented, formal general cultural educational environment). The analysis and interpretation of the results obtained from the experiment at University College of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University are given. The evaluation of educational environment of the college has been made by three groups of experts, which have included students, teachers and parents. Despite the fact that evaluation by different groups of experts are similar, it is revealed that it has essential differences, which has been proved with appropriate statistical methods. It is determined that the substantiation of the whole monitoring system of educational environment of institution of higher education and corresponding diagnostic tools has great potential.

The use of drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles has expanded rapidly in recent years. These devices are expected to enter practical use in various fields, such as taking measurements through aerial photography and transporting small and lightweight objects. Simultaneously, concerns over these devices being misused for terrorism or other criminal activities have increased. In response, several sensor systems have been developed to monitor drone flights. In particular, with the recent progress of deep neural network technology, the monitoring of systems using image processing has been proposed. This study developed a monitoring system for flying objects using a 4K camera and a state-of-the-art convolutional neural network model to achieve real-time processing. We installed a monitoring system in a high-rise building in an urban area during this study and evaluated the precision with which it could detect flying objects at different distances under different weather conditions. The results obtained provide important information for determining the accuracy of monitoring systems with image processing in practice.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate a dystopian situation with special reference to how a panoptic monitoring system emerges in schools. To satisfy this aim, there will be a close analysis of the city of Nago in Okinawa Prefecture, where there is a huge debate over the new US Marine base construction and how it greatly influences people’s lives. Design/methodology/approach This study will employ a self-study by the first author, who is a clinical psychologist under the board of education in the city. This self-study aims to examine the lived experiences of the author based on interactions with critical friends. Findings The government’s selection of the site for the new base created a schism in the community, and the introduction of compensations led to the establishment of a communal panoptic monitoring system. This communal panoptic monitoring largely influences the relationships between pupils, teachers and parents. Further, another panoptic monitoring system has developed inside the Nago schools due to the intensification of the assessment policies given by the ministry in Tokyo. Originality/value This investigation purports to analyse a dystopian situation with special reference to how a panoptic monitoring system, a key element of a dystopia, emerges in schools.

The structural health monitoring technology has been one of the most important issues. In this paper, the design of wireless sensor network for structural health monitoring application is studied. The basic concept, significance, state of the art of structural health monitoring, the architecture and the principle of the wireless structural health monitoring system are described. The hardware and software of the overall system are designed and built. The WLANonSAN architecture network is particularly proposed as a solution for the large-scale networks.

This paper introduces a monitoring system for health surveillance with the modern wireless communication. On the basis of predecessors' work, a remote heath monitoring system is designed based on Zigbee and human-computer interacting technology, which uses real-time monitoring in the field of disease prevention and rehabilitation. Every node is introduced and the results show that this system overcomes short distance and inconvenience of the state-of-the-art systems.

This paper introduces the development of a data center monitoring system based on IoT technologies. The system is meant to work as an administrative tool for system administrators in any environment, but mainly focused on data centers, since it integrates sensor and server status data. We are developing a system that gives a broad view of a data center, integrating server data such as CPU and memory usage or network bandwidth with room health parameters such as temperature, humidity, and power consumption or the presence sensors that indicate if there were people inside the room at the time a certain event occurred. As this is a work in progress, in this paper, we present the state-of-the-art of this subject, as well as what we expect to obtain from this project.
