This study discusses the application of the material requirements planning (MRP) method in the planning of raw materials in a furniture company. The purpose of this research is to know the planning of raw materials for furniture products in UD. AA, determine the most suitable inventory model to be applied to material inventory planning and analyze the role of the MRP system in raw material procurement planning. The forecasting method used is the quantitative method of time series analysis, determining the master production schedule, calculating lot sizing (LFL, EOQ, POQ methods). From determining the Master Production Schedule, it is found that the cabinet production plan for the next three months is 4 units per period or week, and based on the calculation of Material Requirement Planning (MRP) it can be seen what components are needed for the manufacture of cabinets, how many and when each component is required. Therefore it is obtained that the total raw material requirement for wood for the next three months is 11.34 m³.

Introduction: Material Requirement Planning (MRP) is a technique or a logical procedure to translate the Master Production Schedule (MPS) of the finished goods or end item into the net requirements for some of the components needed to implement the MPS. MRP is used to determine the amount of material needs to support the Master Production Schedule and when the material needs to be scheduled.Methods: The study is conducted on 13 August 2018 until 12 September 2018 at the installation Nutrition RSIA Kendangsari Merr Surabaya. Collecting data in this study using several methods, including: observation- This stage is conducted in all parts related to the object of study, starting from the Purchase Order (PO) by a head cook up to raw material stored in the storage, discussion- author interviews and collects data to communicate and discuss with the respondents. Respondents in this study are the head of the nutrition unit and head cook of RSIA who have the authority doing the purchasing.Results: Planning of procurement of raw materials to the menu rawon in RSIA can use the Exponential Smoothing method. The discussion has compared two methods of forecasting and the results are consistent with the demand’s patterns of Simple Moving Average method, Exponential Smothing. Forecasting has the lowest error rate by using Exponential Smoothing. The second conclusion is a technique of determining the appropriate Material Requirement Planning in raw material procurement to menu rawon in RSIA is using Lot for Lot.

<p>This research discusses the planning and inventory control of raw materials in PT Rackindo Setara Perkasa which is one of the manufacturer in Indonesia which is engaged in the industry of knock-down furniture. The purpose of this study is to planning and controlling the inventory of raw materials with the lowest cost. The research is conducted to develop demand forecast in 2016, to develop the aggregate planning using LINGO software, then continued in the design of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Material Requirement Planning (MRP). This research discusses the comparison of several methods of Lot Sizing in MRP, such as the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Period Order Quantity (POQ) and Least Total Cost (LTC). Inventory management without Material Requirement systems in CV. Bangun Cipta Artha resulted in the lot size for each order of raw materials not optimal. One concept that can be used to plan and control raw materials is the Material Requirement Planning. This study is to determine the number of sizes of raw material orders, the exact order time, the method that produces the lowest cost for each raw material, and the effect of using MRP on inventory costs. This research conducted on 160x200cm spring bed products. Data was analyzed by making production master schedules, determining net requirements, determining lot size, and making MRP tables. Based on the results, the determination the best lot sizing is the order quantiy period which results in a total inventory cost of Rp. 26,475,220 where the total cost is lower, compared to lot for lot method which Rp. 43,464,000. part period balancing Rp. 33,106,576, and conventional method Rp.49,472,912. The development of the business world is currently experiencing a very rapid growth rate. Planning for the proper procurement of materials will be able to facilitate the company's production activities. Production process activities in companies often experience problems such as inaccurate production, which is caused by delays in the arrival of raw materials, and damage to raw materials due to too long storing in warehouses. This study aims to plan future needs with the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) approach by doing forecasting, making the Master Production Schedule (MPS), Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and conducting a cost analysis of the five methods used. The results of this study are forecasting product demand will be used linear regression method, and effective material requirements planning method with the lowest cost is to use the Lot For Lot (LFL) method of $ 164.48. The application of the Lot For Lot method can reduce costs by 90.06% compared to the Fixed Period Requirements (FPR) method used by the company.


The purpose of this study is to determine the most appropriate forecasting to predict the demand for raw materials of laundry in 2017, determine the results of the Material Requirement Planning calculation using lot permits, and to determine the total cost-efficiency of the conventional calculation method with the Material Requirement Planning method. The research method used is quantitative research, descriptive research type, and time horizon is cross-sectional for all data collection. This study uses Exponential smoothing (QM for Windows) forecasting, as an illustration, to determine the number of raw material requirements by using the analysis method, Material Requirement Planning with lot sizing measurements used are Lot for Lot, Economic Order Quantity, and Period Order Quantity. Of the three methods, the analysis results illustrate that the Lot for Lot method produces the lowest total cost of IDR. 56,160,000, compared to the total costs incurred using the company's conventional method of IDR. 175,985,288,2, So, the Material Requirement Planning method can reduce the company's inventory costs

   One strategy is to increase productivity by enhancing the company's inventory management system to support the smooth day-to-day operations, the company hopes to establish the amount of raw material inventories efficiently, besides it can reduce the undesirable things, such as: Stock material less raw, raw material stock of redundant, inefficient, disorganized inventory layout, handling errors resulting in damage to the raw materials and others. Models control conducted by PT. Cahaya Buana Intitama is currently using two techniques, namely the calculation of average calculation and the calculation of the last three months the average per period (total months of the current year) to obtain the "Purchase Plan".Keywords: productivity, raw materials, control, material requirements planning.

ABSTRACTRaw material requirements planning is one way to increase cost efficiency. The purpose of this study wasto determine the proper technique for cost efficiency. The Research in Bogor Mitradaya PT Mandirifacing problems of shortage or excess raw materials in the warehouse or stock outs so disrupt the smoothproduction process. Comparative descriptive research with case study method. The analysis wasconducted using MRP (Material Requirement Planning). The Results showed that raw materialrequirements planning at PT Mandiri Bogor Mitradaya pretty good. But in its activities, sometimescompanies have excess or shortage of raw materials warehouse, causing inefficient costs on 17th feb-23feb 2015. The calculation methods Lot For Lot MRP techniques proven to increase cost efficiency. Kegiatan produksi yang dilakukan oleh beberapa perusahaan masih menggunakan persediaan material yang banyak agar kegiatan produksi dapat berjalan lancar, akan tetapi kondisi ini dianggap tidak optimal karena banyak sumber daya yang ditanam, sehingga investasi hanya digunakan untuk keperluan kebutuhan material. Pemesanan material yang tidak didukung dengan data-data permintaan produk secara tepat, akan membuat persediaan bahan baku tidak dapat dipastikan sehingga material terkadang banyak dan kadang kala habis. Dalam menggunakan tenaga kerja dan fasilitas produksi yang tidak sesuai dengan kebutuhan permintaan, maka kegiatan produksi tidak berjalan secara efektif dan efisien. Sumber daya yang dimiliki oleh perusahaan harus diketahui secara detail, agar perusahaan dapat menggunakan kemampuan sumber daya yang ada secara optimal. Perusahaan dalam mencapai permintaan produk harus mengetahui kapasitas produksi yang dimiliki, sehingga kemampuan target produksi perusahaan dapat dicapai secara optimal, dengan melakukan pengukuran waktu standar pada operasi kerja dan menentukan performance rating untuk masing-masing operator. Dalam menentukan permintaan produk untuk periode berikutnya menggunakan metode peramalan jenis regresi linier dengan jumlah permintaan produk sebesar 1278 kg. Perencanaan kebutuhan material (MRP) pesanan dapat dilakukan pada hari ke-7 tiap bulan sesuai dengan jumlah masing-masing jenis bahan baku. Production activities which are conducted by some companies still use a lot of material inventory that production activities can run smoothly, but this condition is not considered optimal because many sources in the plant, so the investment is only in use for material. Ordering a material is not supported by data appropriately in product demand, it will make inventory of raw materials can not be sure so that the material is sometimes a lot and sometimes run out. The use of labor and production facilities are not accordance with demand, finally the production activities are not effective and efficient. Resources owned by the company must to be known in detail, so that the company can use capabilities of existing resources optimally. Company to achieve product demand should know the productive capacity, so that the ability of the company’s production targets can be achieved optimally, by measuring standard time at work operations and determine performance rating for each operator. In determining the demand for the product the next period using the method of linear regression forecasting the number of types of product demand of 1278kg. Material requirements planning (MRP) orders can be made on day 7 of each month in accordance with the number of each type of raw material.

PT. Phapros Tbk is one of the oldest and biggest pharmaceutical company in Indonesia. As raw material inventory plays a key role to compete in this type of industry, it is important for PT. Phapros, Tbk to keep it well maintained. However, the Production Planning and Inventory Control Division, whose responsibility is planning and controlling the raw material has not implemented the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) method that causes a problem regarding the overstock of captopril, the ingredient for producing captopril 25 mg tablet. There are too much raw materials ordered and ends up with higher expense. The author proposed a lotting method to develop an efficient raw material planning. Results shows that using Wagner Within Algorithm method can help the company minimizes the total expense spent by Rp 984.977.

<p><em>PT X merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang manufaktur kapur barus atau kamper. Dalam pelaksanaan perusahaannya, diketahui di PT X belum memiliki metode terstandar dalam mengatur perencanaan, pengendalian serta penjadwalan tingkat kedatangan bahan baku, perencanaan dan penjadwalan biasanya dilakukan berdasarkan pengalaman dan perkiraan kepala bagian PPC saja sehingga perusahaan saat ini masih mengalami kendala dalam pengelolaan persediaannya, dimana bahan baku seringkali mengalami penumpukan di gudang. PT X juga masih menerapkan sistem manual dalam melakukan penjadwalan produksi dan pemesanan bahan bakunya. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka dilakukan perancangan sistem informasi untuk merencanakan dan mengendalikan persediaan bahan baku di PT. X dengan menggunakan metode MRP (Material Requirement Planning). Serangkaian kegiatan yang dilakukan dalam metode MRP adalah melakukan peramalan penjualan, membuat MPS (Master Production Schedule), membuat BOM (Bill Of Material), menghitung kebutuhan bahan baku dengan metode lot sizing. Dengan adanya program aplikasi, maka akan mempermudah dan membantu pekerjaan Marketing, PPC dan gudang serta dapat membuat proses bisnis berjalan lebih cepat dan efisien.</em></p>
