This article emphasizes the importance of educational practices directed to the activities of searching and using information in the context of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo (IFSP). The research problem addresses the contribution of libraries to stimulating student informational behavior aimed at building knowledge from the perspective of polytechnic. The stages of construction and evaluation of an educational product are presented. It is a whiteboard animation (or drawing on a white board) that chooses, as its central theme, the Law on Access to Information (LAI) - Law 12.527 / 2011. It is defined as a descriptive and applied research, using mixed methodology. Knowledge Diagnostic Test and Questionnaires (both online) are used to collect quantitative and qualitative data, through simple random sampling. Data are analyzed using descriptive statistics and textual discursive analysis (ATD). The results obtained show that the students evaluate the educational material in a positive way. After contacting the video, most of the group realized that the denial of the right to information prevents the generation of new knowledge. Students intend to use LAI to search for future information. It is concluded that,, the library, seen as a non-formal teaching space, is capable of providing educational information and materials capable of directly contributing to the expansion of the quality of the search and informational processes among students.

The quality of education is fundamental to the socioeconomic development of a country. It is linked to the percentage of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) earmarked for the area, and also to the expansion of good educational practices, just like the methodology of educommunication, an interdepartmental approach to some disciplines such as: The use of media in education, production of educational content and Epistemological and experimental practices of concepts, which encourage students to participate more actively in debating problems. The present research proposes, therefore, to assist the teaching-learning process of students of the Multimedia Technical Course (CTIM) of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Paraíba (IFPB - Campus Cabedelo) and its integration with the community, exchanging experiences with public school students through educational media. The method was divided into steps ranging from knowledge to production. During the National Extension Meeting of the IFPB 2017 (ENEX), a game and fanzine developed by the CTIM was presented to the students of the State Elementary and Secondary School Izaura Falcão de Carvalho (Lucena-PB). There, we could see students’ interest in the topics discussed (content of subjects and information about ENEX). We also saw the contribution of this work to the practice in the classroom.

Palavras-chave: Produção do Espaço Urbano; Impactos Socioeconômicos; Qualidade de Vida.ABSTRACTThis article is the result of an extension project titled "Socioeconomic survey of the areas of influence of cargo transshipment stations (ETC) in the municipality of Itaituba (PA), district of Campo Verde", carried out by the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Pará (IFPA), Itaituba Campus, in the period of August to December 2015, in partnership with the Municipality of Itaituba. The volume of containers and the organic substrates are factors directly linked to the quality of seedlings. At this work, we conducted an experiment aiming to evaluate the effect of different organic sources and volumes of containers on the production of guava rootstocks. The experiment was realized from June to November 2011, at the Experimental Farm of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Paraíba (IFPB), Sousa-PB, Brazil. We used a randomized block in a 3x4 factorial design. The first factor was the organic substrate, with three treatments (cattle manure, sheep manure and earthworm castings), and the second factor consisted of four container volumes (635 mL, 1285 mL, 1800 mL and 3300 mL). Each treatment was replicated four times. The evaluated characteristics were: shoot length, shoot diameter, dry shoot matter and macronutrient contents (N, P, K, Ca, Mg and S) in the aerial dry shoot mass. Based on the results, we recommend a volume of containers of 1285 mL for guava rootstocks, regardless of the organic substrate. The variation in the volume of the containers provided differences in the growth of the rootstocks and the accumulation of N, P, Ca and Mg in the dry mass of the aerial part.

This article analyses the opinions of citizens on the core values of the so-called Media accountability: truthfulness, independence, transparency, public participation and respect for peoples’ rights. It also analyses citizens’ perceptions of various deontological instruments to measure the effectiveness of compliance with these ethical values. The qualitative methodology used to carry out this analysis is part of the R+D+I research project “Accountability and Journalistic Cultures project in Spain. Impact and proposal of good practices in the Spanish media” (MediaACES), which has been achieved through six focus groups in different Spanish cities. The results of the analysis reflect the critical spirit of citizens towards the media due to the following factors: the absence of objectivity, the mixture of economic interests with their editorial line and an ambiguous participation of the public, which requires a better definition of their role within the information process. The conclusions derived from this analysis allow us to reflect on several aspects: among others, the competition in a deregulated market leads to infotainment and affects the quality of information, as well as the rights of people affected by the news. At the same time, the excess of information channels leads to greater disinformation, under the appearance of a spontaneous pluralism that is superfluous. Ethics, therefore, seems to be a necessary requirement to differentiate professional journalism from other inappropriate information channels and to guarantee the right to information of citizens.

Abstract The quality of the interpreting carried out in criminal courts has come to the fore in Spain with the entry into force of domestic legislation transposing Directive 2010/64/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 October 2010, on the right to interpretation and translation in criminal proceedings, and Directive 2012/13/EU of 22 May 2012, on the right to information in criminal proceedings, which enshrines translation and interpreting as an essential element within procedural guarantees. The TIPp project was aimed at developing resources that facilitate court interpreters’ tasks based on the data obtained from a representative corpus of authentic interpreter-mediated criminal proceedings. In this contribution we describe and analyse the corpus, highlighting aspects such as the interpreter’s mother tongue, the type of offence that was tried, the procedural situation of the non Spanish-speaking user and whether there was whispered interpreting or the interpreter was given any instruction.
