Objectives: To study the effect of emotional intelligence on the job performance of high school principals in the municipality of Shendi, River Nile State, Sudan. Methods: This study was conducted using Dalip Singh's model of emotional intelligence in the managerial environment. The levels of emotional intelligence of managers have been studied in terms of the three components of the model (emotional sensitivity, emotional maturity, and emotional competence) and their impact on managers' ability to lead (work teams, relationship management, and the ability to motivate workers morally), as well as their ability to manage and resolve conflict. Methods: The researcher adopted the descriptive and analytical approach that relies on collecting data on the phenomenon and its interpretation using the SPSS statistical program for data analysis (2018-2020). questionnaire was used to obtain the opinions of the study sample consisting of (20) secondary education managers, using the comprehensive survey method. Findings: The most important finding, emotional sensitivity comes in the first place in terms of influencing job performance effectiveness (leadership, relationship management, ability to motivate, as well as conflict management and resolution); Moreover, 91% of the respondents considered to have a very high level of emotional sensitivity. Improvements/ Applications: The study concluded that managers have the ability to manage the current environment, work in harmony with others and achieve interest in them: the reason for this is that they have this advantage. Value: This is one of the first studies to be conducted in this region to analyze the impact of emotional intelligence on education managers.

This study investigates the impact of emotional intelligence on the job performance of the banking employees in Sri Lanka with the mediation impact of occupational stress. The quantitative approach uses the confirmatory survey method, and it was verified.  The data has been analyzed by using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The confirmatory factor analysis results, RAMSEA=0.089, CFI=0.920, and χ2/df, =3.437, show that the proposed conceptual model fit. The findings reveal that emotional intelligence has a direct effect of 0.385 on job performance and an indirect effect of 0.023 through the mediatory path of occupational stress, resulting in a total effect of 0.408, which is significant (p<0.05). Therefore partial mediation can be observed. Even though higher emotional intelligence leads to higher job performance, this positive impact is lowered due to the partial mediation effect of occupational stress. Therefore, it can be stated that to improve the banking employees' performance, and emotional intelligence can be used as a human resource management strategy.

Undoubtedly, multiple competencies are essential for effective leadership and identifying specific competencies that will foster employees’ performance, is a veritable venture. This study explores the impact of leaders’ emotional intelligence on employees’ performance within Nigeria’s public healthcare sector and also provides perspective on the contextual underpinnings. It adopts the survey method and randomly samples leaders and employees within the sector. Data analyses using the t-test and hierarchical regression analytical tool, reveals a significant correlation between the emotional intelligence of leaders and the performance of employees. The study finds that the task of leadership, coupled with the multiple challenges within Nigeria’s public healthcare sector, requires a reasonable measure of emotional intelligence in order to facilitate employees’ performance.

The study aimed to identify the impact of business strategies on financial performance in Saudi joint stock companies, and used the descriptive analytical method, and the study community is of all the industrial companies listed on the Saudi capital market and the 81 companies, and the sample of the study became after excluding companies whose data are not available during the study period (73) companies. Corporate financial reports were collected from 2010 to 2019, and the data was analysed using Panel data, based on the statistical method represented in the Multi- Regression. The comprehensive survey method of industrial companies in Saudi Arabia was used, and the study found that there was no impact of the product differentiation strategy on the financial performance of Saudi industrial companies, and that there was no impact of the cost leadership strategy on the financial performance of Saudi industrial companies. The size of the company also has a positive impact on the rate of return on ownership, leverage negatively affects financial performance, and the company's life has a negative impact on financial performance. The study recommends future studies to increase the size of the sample and study all Saudi companies to ascertain the impact of business strategies on the performance of companies, and recommended companies to reduce indebtedness and leverage, so that the strategies provided by serving companies in raising financial performance, and working on the application of strategies in a scientific manner so that they have a positive impact on the performance of companies.

Emotional Intelligence (EI) is the ability to appraise and express one’s emotions, appraise and recognize the emotion of others, regulate one’s emotion, and use the emotion to facilitate one’s performance. Job performance of teaching employees refers to the instructional skills, personal & social qualities, educational leadership, and executive ability of the teachers, which is evaluated by the employees and their respective department/office head. This study was designed to examine the correlation between EI and job performance of the teaching employees. The study utilized a descriptive quantitative survey method using standardized questionnaires in gathering the data. The study respondents comprised 111 full-time teaching regular employees in different departments of the University of Bohol. This study used the Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Scale with overall reliability between 0.77-0.91, which measured the EI of the respondents. Results displayed a significant positive correlation between EI and job performance. This study implies that as EI increases, the job performance of the teaching employees also increases. Moreover, the job performance between self-evaluation and office head evaluation does not significantly differ. This research indicates that the evaluation scores have no difference in how the teaching employees rated themselves and their respective office/department heads.

<p class="NoSpacing1">Recent research findings are accumulating evidence that Emotional Intelligence (EI) is associated positively with important work manners. However, the research on Emotional Intelligence is mainly conducted in business field and in western countries; therefore there is a shortage of research on Emotional Intelligence in the context of public sector in Jordan. The aim of this study is to explore the influence of Emotional Intelligence on job performance and job satisfaction as well as the mediating role of job satisfaction on job performance among the administrative employees of the University of Jordan. The present study is based on Mayer and Salovey’s (2000) ability model of Emotional Intelligence. A sample consisted of 354 employees from the University of Jordan who completed self-report questionnaire. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used in order to test the proposed hypotheses. The research found that Emotional Intelligence is positively correlated with job performance and job satisfaction. The findings of this study also confirm the mediatory role of job satisfaction in relationship between Emotional Intelligence and job performance. It is suggested that Emotional Intelligence can be used to predict job performance and job satisfaction, therefore the understanding of Emotional Intelligence theory and its applications can be promoted for managerial and human resource practices throughout public sector organizations.</p>

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to develop and present a research model on various emotional intelligence (EI) constructs which have been found to influence job performance in the prior literature. Design/methodology/approach In addition to leadership and EI, the constructs are clustered under different categories: self-awareness includes self-confidence, emotional self-awareness and accurate self-assessment; self-management includes self-control, adaptability, conscientiousness, trustworthiness and optimism; social awareness includes empathy, organizational awareness and service orientation; and social skills groups’ communication, change catalyst, developing others and self-monitoring. Findings The paper proposes 17 hypotheses concerning significant relationships between these constructs and job performance. Originality/value The paper proposes a new approach toward studying the impact of various constructs of EI on job performance in Saudi banking sector.

The study aimed to identify the impact of human resource competencies on proactive behavior in Jordanian commercial services companies. The study adopted three dimensions of human resource competencies: knowledge, skills, and attitudes. The study population consisted of (182) managers in Jordanian commercial services companies. The study adopted a comprehensive survey method for managers and (130) questionnaires were obtained, for which the study was conducted. A set of statistical methods were used to analyze the study data, the most important of which is the multiple regression coefficient. The study found that there are high levels of the dimensions of human resource competencies, and the level of proactive behavior was high. There is a significant impact of human resource competencies on proactive behavior.

Purpose – In the present century the need and importance of understanding the emotional intelligence of the learner has been grown among the educationists. This is especially true and more prevalent in professions that require the employees to be highly emotionally intelligent such as in the teaching profession. In this study Emotional Intelligence, School Environment and Academic Achievement of secondary school students was probed to find the relationship between and among Emotional nature, School climate and outcomes of standard IX and X students. Methodology - In this study the Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire, School Environment Scale (SES) is used. The investigator used stratified random sampling technique for selecting the sample. The study will adopt a Normative Survey Method. The variables studied are the Emotional Intelligence, School Environment and Academic Achievement. Emotional Intelligence Scale developed and validated by the Balasubramanain and Shanty in 2005 is used for the study. Further School Environment questionnaire developed and validated by the Shanty Jose 2009 is used for the study. The academic achievement scores obtained by the student is used for analysing the learning outcome. Findings - Finding shows from the study shows that there is a high level of Emotional Intelligence, school environment and academic achievement of secondary school students. No significant differences found between and among Emotional Intelligence, School Environment and Academic Achievement with respect to the variables gender, class, type of institutions, locality and medium of instruction. There is a significant relationship exists between and among Emotional Intelligence, school environment and academic achievement and its sub variables. Significance - Emotion as the basis of all behaviours and activities and so is directly related to all human nature and achievements. Emotions are source of motivation, source of learning,source of strength and endurance to body. Emotional intelligence is being able to understand one's one behaviour and to use this to guide their action. Understanding the emotional intelligence of learner will help to analyse the academic performance of individual learner and to provide them useful support.
