Emotional Intelligence (EI) is the ability to appraise and express one’s emotions, appraise and recognize the emotion of others, regulate one’s emotion, and use the emotion to facilitate one’s performance. Job performance of teaching employees refers to the instructional skills, personal & social qualities, educational leadership, and executive ability of the teachers, which is evaluated by the employees and their respective department/office head. This study was designed to examine the correlation between EI and job performance of the teaching employees. The study utilized a descriptive quantitative survey method using standardized questionnaires in gathering the data. The study respondents comprised 111 full-time teaching regular employees in different departments of the University of Bohol. This study used the Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Scale with overall reliability between 0.77-0.91, which measured the EI of the respondents. Results displayed a significant positive correlation between EI and job performance. This study implies that as EI increases, the job performance of the teaching employees also increases. Moreover, the job performance between self-evaluation and office head evaluation does not significantly differ. This research indicates that the evaluation scores have no difference in how the teaching employees rated themselves and their respective office/department heads.

The objective of the research is to obtain information about the influence of work life balance and employee engagementon employees job performance onFaculty of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Indonesia .The research was conducted to all of employees onFaculty of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Indonesia by using a survey method with path analysis applied in testing hypothesis. The number 67 employees as sample was selected by using Slovin formula. The result of the study reveals that: (1) there is direct effect of work life balance on job performance. (2) there isdirect effect of employee engagement on job performance. (3) there is direct effect of work life balance on employee engagement. Therefore to enhance employee’s job performance can be carried out by work life balance, and employee engagement.

<p class="NoSpacing1">Recent research findings are accumulating evidence that Emotional Intelligence (EI) is associated positively with important work manners. However, the research on Emotional Intelligence is mainly conducted in business field and in western countries; therefore there is a shortage of research on Emotional Intelligence in the context of public sector in Jordan. The aim of this study is to explore the influence of Emotional Intelligence on job performance and job satisfaction as well as the mediating role of job satisfaction on job performance among the administrative employees of the University of Jordan. The present study is based on Mayer and Salovey’s (2000) ability model of Emotional Intelligence. A sample consisted of 354 employees from the University of Jordan who completed self-report questionnaire. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used in order to test the proposed hypotheses. The research found that Emotional Intelligence is positively correlated with job performance and job satisfaction. The findings of this study also confirm the mediatory role of job satisfaction in relationship between Emotional Intelligence and job performance. It is suggested that Emotional Intelligence can be used to predict job performance and job satisfaction, therefore the understanding of Emotional Intelligence theory and its applications can be promoted for managerial and human resource practices throughout public sector organizations.</p>

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti hubungan dan pengaruh kepimpinan instruksional, kecerdasan emosi dan persoaliti guru besar terhadap prestasi kerja guru sekolah rendah di negeri Sabah. Seramai 419 orang responden telah dipilih dalam kalangan guru dari lima puluh buah sekolah rendah di negeri Sabah yang dipilih secara rawak menggunakan kaedah pensampelan rawak berstrata. Data Kajian diperoleh menggunakan soal selidik tertutup mengandungi 88 item yang diubah suai daripada instrumen Principal Instructional Management Rating Scale (PIMRS), Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQ-I), Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire – Short Form (TEIQue-S), Emotional Spiritual Quotient (ESQ), Emotional Intelligence Scale (EIS), NEO Five-Factor Inventory (NEO FFI) dan prestasi kerja oleh Iran Herman dan Fatimah Wati Halim. Data kajian dianalisis menggunakan perisian Statistical Packages For Social Sciences. Ujian Korelasi Pearson bagi ketiga-tiga variabel menunjukkan wujud hubungan signifikan secara positif dengan prestasi kerja guru. Analisis regresi menunjukkan ketiga-tiga variabel turut memberi pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap prestasi kerja guru. Berdasarkan data empirikal yang dibincangkan, kajian ini boleh dijadikan panduan oleh semua pihak yang terlibat secara langsung atau tidak langsung dalam bidang pendidikan dan penyelidikan dalam meningkatkan prestasi kerja guru di sekolah rendah. Abstract This study aimed to identify the relationship and effects of instructional leadership, emotional intelligence and headmaster’s personality towards primary schools teachers’ job performance in Sabah. A number of 419 respondents from 50 primary schools in Sabah were chosen randomly using Stratified Random Sampling method. The results gained using closed questionnaire that contained 88 items which was modified from Principal of Instructional Management Rating Scale (PIMRS), Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQ-I), Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire – Short Form (TEIQue-S), Emotional Spiritual Quotient (ESQ), Emotional Intelligence Scale (EIS), NEO Five-Factor Inventory (NEO FFI) and job performance by Iran Herman and Fatimah Wati Halim. The data was analysed using Statistical Packages For Social Sciences. Thus, Pearson Correlation Test for the variables showed that there are significant positive connection with teacher’s job performance. The regression analysis also showed that all the variables has significantly affect the teacher’s job performance. In regard of the empirical data as discussed, this study could be used as a guide by party of interest in the field of educations or studies to improve teacher’s job performance in primary school.

<p>The purpose of this study is to translate “Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Scale” (WLEIS; Wong & Law, 2002) into Urdu and also to determine the psychometric properties of this scale. The final (Urdu) version of the scale is checked on a sample of 315 managers of the top four private commercial banks of Pakistan after the translation process. The validity and reliability of the WLEIS were evaluated by analyzing the “Cronbach alpha”, composite reliability, rho-A, and average variance extracted. The following hypotheses were formulated after detailed literature review (a) the Urdu version of WLEIS scores were positively correlated to three dimensions of job performance (JP) (b) Work engagement (WE) mediates the association between Urdu translated dimensions of WLEIS and dimensions of JP. Reliability of the four-dimensional Urdu variant of WLEIS estimated by Cronbach's Alpha which is 0.67, 0.74, 0.77 and 0.75; rho A is 0.69, 0.76, 0.79 and 0.76 and composite reliability is .0.80, 0.84, 0.85 and 0.84 and AVE is 0.51, 0.56, 0.59 and 0.57 respectively. In addition, WLEIS-U dimensions have a statistically substantial positive association with three dimensions of JP and WE is proved to be mediator between WLEIS-U dimensions and dimensions of job performance. It has been found that the Urdu version of WLEIS in Pakistan is reliable.</p>

Objectives: To study the effect of emotional intelligence on the job performance of high school principals in the municipality of Shendi, River Nile State, Sudan. Methods: This study was conducted using Dalip Singh's model of emotional intelligence in the managerial environment. The levels of emotional intelligence of managers have been studied in terms of the three components of the model (emotional sensitivity, emotional maturity, and emotional competence) and their impact on managers' ability to lead (work teams, relationship management, and the ability to motivate workers morally), as well as their ability to manage and resolve conflict. Methods: The researcher adopted the descriptive and analytical approach that relies on collecting data on the phenomenon and its interpretation using the SPSS statistical program for data analysis (2018-2020). questionnaire was used to obtain the opinions of the study sample consisting of (20) secondary education managers, using the comprehensive survey method. Findings: The most important finding, emotional sensitivity comes in the first place in terms of influencing job performance effectiveness (leadership, relationship management, ability to motivate, as well as conflict management and resolution); Moreover, 91% of the respondents considered to have a very high level of emotional sensitivity. Improvements/ Applications: The study concluded that managers have the ability to manage the current environment, work in harmony with others and achieve interest in them: the reason for this is that they have this advantage. Value: This is one of the first studies to be conducted in this region to analyze the impact of emotional intelligence on education managers.

AbstractIntroduction. The objective of the study was a comparative analysis of the results of unified and two-tier university studies in physical education at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport in Biała Podlaska of the University of Physical Education in Warsaw. Material and methods. The study utilized 128 full-time final semester students. The study utilized a diagnostic poll and random survey method. On the basis of respondents' opinions, the following results were analyzed: respondents' expectations regarding their education and the level of their fulfilment, forms of activities undertaken during studies, professional plans and opinions regarding the course of studies in PE. Results. The analysis revealed that, when making the decision to study physical education, respondents expected to gain directional competences and knowledge and skills enabling further education. Respondents highly regarded the level of these competences gained. The majority of respondents expressed a wish to find employment in the education sector and other institutions of physical education. Conclusion. The result of the research indicated that transforming unified Master's studies into two-tier university studies did not bring about fundamental changes in the outcome of studies in physical education.


The problem of delays in returning library books is common to all categories of library users at the University of Zambia. However, little is known about what causes the delay in returning the borrowed books. To address this gap, the authors investigated circulation policies at Zambia’s leading academic library. The objective was to establish the effect of library regulations on the return of library books. Using a survey method, the study targeted 90 full-time students who were randomly selected. Quantitative data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences while qualitative data were coded and analyzed thematically. The results revealed that circulation policies have an effect on returning the borrowed books by users. These findings provide a useful contribution to the dearth of literature on this subject and offer valuable information to inform future planning.

En esta investigación se estudió la relación existente entre la inteligencia emocional (IE) y la evaluación de desempeño (ED) que se realiza la institución como parte de los procesos, comportamientos y competencia de la academia a nivel universitario, a partir de una muestra de 150 docentes, en edades comprendidas entre los 25 y 69 años, en el contexto de Milagro- Guayas, Ecuador. El objetivo del estudio fue establecer las características de inteligencia emocional presente en los docentes en correlación al nivel de desempeño laboral.  Para la recolección de la información de la primera variable, se utilizó el test Traid Meta-Mood Scale (TMMS-24), instrumento utilizado para medir el índice (IE) presente en los docentes, contiene 24 ítem divididos en tres categorías atención, claridad y reparación. Para medir el desempeño docente se consideró los datos proporcionados por el departamento de evaluación y aseguramiento de la calidad de la institución. Esta evaluación consideró cuatro parámetros; la auto evaluación, evaluación de pares, heteroevaluación y evaluación directivos. Los datos fueron analizados de forma descriptiva y correlacional. Como conclusión relevante, se estableció que, mientras mayor son los niveles de inteligencia emocional, mayor es el desempeño laboral en los docentes investigados.   Abstract In this research we studied the relationship between emotional intelligence (EI) and performance evaluation (ED) carried out by the institution as part of the processes, behaviors and competence of the academy at the university level, starting from a sample of 150 teachers, between the ages of 25 and 69, in the context of Milagro-Guayas, Ecuador. The objective of the study was to establish the characteristics of emotional intelligence present in teachers correlated to the level of work performance. For the collection of the information of the first variable, the Traid Meta-Mood Scale (TMMS-24) was used, an instrument used to measure the index (IE) present in teachers, it contains 24 items divided into three categories. Attention, clarity and repair. To measure the teaching performance, the data provided by the department of evaluation and assurance of the quality of the institution was considered. This evaluation considered four parameters; self-evaluation, peer evaluation, hetero-evaluation and management evaluation. The data was analyzed in a descriptive and correlational manner. As a relevant conclusion, it was established that, the higher the levels of emotional intelligence, the greater the job performance of the investigated teachers.

This research aims to know the relationship between emotional intelligence with Adaptive coping strategies, relationships with democratic parenting and adaptive coping strategies and the relationship between emotional intelligence and democratic parenting with Adaptive coping strategies on senior students. The population in this research is the senior students at the Faculty of psychology of the University of Medan Area. Sample research amounted to 74 students were taken with purposive sampling technique. The instruments used are emotional intelligence scale, parenting democratic scale and adaptive coping strategy scale. Results of multiple regression analysis shows amounted to 469.324 with Freg value p = 0.000 (p 0.005) it shows that there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and democratic parenting with adaptive coping strategies. Partially, there is the relationship between emotional intelligence with adaptive coping strategies with rxy = 0.00 0.936 with p , and there is a relationship between democratic parenting with adaptive coping strategies rxy = 0.920 with p 0.00. The value of R2 of 0.933 emotional intelligence means and foster democratic patterns together contributed effectively amounted to 93.3% against adaptive coping strategies.
