Increasing incidence of Placenta accrete syndrome has become a worrisome issue due to its associated life-threatening complications for both the mother and the fetus. The ideal management for PAS disorder remains the matter of debate still. The critical step in its effective management being its suspicion knowing the underlying risk factors and its diagnosis in antenatal period. Still, cesarean hysterectomy remains the gold standard procedure with many newer conservative approaches under evaluation. Our basic aim behind writing this review is to highlight the recent changes in classifying and diagnosing PAS owing to the ever-increasing incidence of this catastrophic entity. Also, it will emphasize the well-established role of radical over conservative management and also all modalities used in conservative management so far.

Background: Acute appendicitis is the most common acute surgical condition of the abdomen, which if complicated by perforation or peritonitis has high morbidity and mortality. Aim: The aim of this study is to analyze the presentation, diagnosis and management of acute appendicitis along with the role of conservative management in uncomplicated cases. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted in Govt. Medical College Jammu over a period of one year w.e.f September 2017 to August 2018 and included 120 patients. Diagnosis in the suspected patients was based on history, clinical examination coupled with laboratory investigations and imaging modalities like ultrasound/ CT Scan wherever required. Results: 120 patients of acute appendicitis were treated over the period of one year at our center. Abdominal pain was the most common and constant presentation seen in 112 patients followed by vomiting (82), history of fever (60), history of constipation and distension (20) and another 12 had history of diarrhoea. Six patients (5%) responded favorably to conservative management. Conclusion: Acute appendicitis is a common surgical emergency requiring detailed history and meticulous examination coupled with X-ray and ultrasonography for diagnosis. Appendectomy is the standard procedure of choice and wherever feasible laparoscopic appendectomy offers the advantage of less pain, short hospital stay, earlier return to work and overall cost. Keywords: Acute Appendicitis, Appendectomy, Alvarado Score, Phlegmon, Abscess.

Background: Placenta accrete occurs when there is abnormal attachment of the placenta to the uterine wall either partially or totally. Placenta accreta had many complications mainly intraoperative and postpartum including injury to local organs (e.g. bowel, bladder, ureters) and neurovascular structures in the retroperitoneum. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the uterine cavity after conservative management of placenta accreta by using hysteroscope. Materials and Methods: This is prospective study was carried on 40 pregnant at Tanta University Hospital with age >35 years, to detect Presence or absence of intra uterine changes after conservative management of placenta accrete by hysteroscopy, easiness of performing diagnostic hysteroscopy and Correlation between intrauterine changes and operative data. Results: Hysteroscopic examination of the participants showed that 30.0% with incidences of Cervical stenosis, 15.0% with uterine cavity irregularity, 15.0% with intrauterine adhesions, 10.0% with endometrial fibrosis, 5.0% with scar dehiscence and 5.0% with Remnant. There was a statistically significant positive correlation between development of cervical stenosis and endometrial thickness by US (correlation coefficient r = 0.323 with p value 0.042) .There was a statistically significant negative correlation between Endometrial fibrosis and scar thickness (correlation coefficient r = -0.538 with p value <0.001). There was a statistically significant negative correlation between Intra uterine adhesions and scar thickness (correlation coefficient r = -0.470 with p value 0.002). There was a statistically significant negative correlation between uterine cavity irregularity and duration of CS  (correlation coefficient r = -0.320 with p value 0.044). Conclusion: The frequency of abnormal hysteroscopic findings after conservative management of placenta accreta is high, for at least several months after the procedure. The most frequently found abnormalities, associated with conservative treatment, are cervical stenosis, uterine cavity irregularity and Intrauterine adhesions.

This article proposes a model of individual violent radicalisation leading to acts of terrorism. After reviewing the role of group regression and the creation of group psychic apparatus, the article will examine how violent radicalisation, by the reversal of the importance of the superego and the ideal ego, serves to compensate the narcissistic identity suffering by “lone wolf” terrorists.

SARS-COV2 virus causes Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and represents the causative agent of a potentially fatal disease that is of great global public health concern. The novel coronavirus (2019) was discovered in 2019 in Wuhan, the market of the wet animal, China with viral pneumonia cases and is life-threatening. Today, WHO announces COVID-19 outbreak as a pandemic. COVID-19 is likely to be zoonotic. It is transmitted from bats as intermediary animals to human. Also, the virus is transmitted from human to human who is in close contact with others. The computerized tomographic chest scan is usually abnormal even in those with no symptoms or mild disease. Treatment is nearly supportive; the role of antiviral agents is yet to be established. The SARS-COV2 virus spreads faster than its two ancestors, the SARS-CoV and Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV), but has lower fatality. In this article, we aimed to summarize the transmission, symptoms, pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment, and vaccine to control the spread of this fatal disease.

The ideology of state-ibuism has always been interwoven with how the New Order regime until nowadays government constructing the “ideal” role of women in the family and community through the PKK (Pembinaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga) organization. However, in Cangkring Village, Indramayu, the ideology of ibuism works not because of the massive government regulating the role of women through the PKK organization, but it is possible because of the structure of the kampung community itself. Through involved observations and in-depth interviews about a kindergarten in the village, a group of housewives who dedicated themselves to teaching in kindergarten were met without getting paid high. From these socio-cultural phenomenons, this paper will describe descriptively and analytically that housewives in the Cangkring village are willing to become kindergarten teachers because of their moral burden as part of the warga kampung and also from community pressure from people who want their children to be able to read and write.

: Melanoma is the most life-threatening and aggressive class of skin malignancies. The incidence of melanoma has steadily increased. Metastatic melanoma is greatly resistant to standard anti-melanomatreatments such as chemotherapy, and 5-year survival rate of cases with melanoma who have metastatic form of disease is less than 10%. The contributing role of apoptosis, angiogenesis and autophagy in the pathophysiology of melanoma has been previously demonstrated. Thus, it is extremely urgent to search for complementary therapeutic approachesthat couldenhance the quality of life of subjects and reduce treatment resistance and adverse effects. Resveratrol, known as a polyphenol component present in grapes and some plants, has anti-cancer properties due to its function as an apoptosis inducer in tumor cells, and anti-angiogenic agent to prevent metastasis. However, more clinical trials should be conducted to prove resveratrol efficacy. : Herein, for first time, we summarize current knowledge of anti-cancerous activities of resveratrol in melanoma.

Chapter 1 introduces the background of the Umbrella Movement, a protest movement that took hold in Hong Kong in 2014, and outlines the theoretical principles underlying the analysis of the role of media and communication in the occupation campaign. It explicates how the Umbrella Movement is similar to but also different from the ideal-typical networked social movement and crowd-enabled connective action. It explains why the Umbrella Movement should be seen as a case in which the logic of connective action intervenes into a planned collective action. It also introduces the notion of conditioned contingencies and the conceptualization of an integrated media system.

Due to the promising effects of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in the treatment of various diseases, this commentary aimed to focus on the auxiliary role of MSCs to reduce inflammatory processes of acute respiratory infections caused by the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Since early in 2020, COVID-19, a consequence of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has rapidly affected millions of people world-wide. The SARS-CoV-2 infection in children appears to be an unusual event. Despite the high number of affected adult and elderly, children and adolescents remained low in amounts, and marginally touched. Based on the promising role of cell therapy and regenerative medicine approaches in the treatment of several life-threatening diseases, it seems that applying MSCs cell-based approaches can also be a hopeful strategy for improving subjects with severe acute respiratory infections caused by COVID-19.

AbstractAllogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (alloSCT) carries the promise of cure for many malignant and non-malignant diseases of the lympho-hematopoietic system. Although outcome has improved considerably since the pioneering Seattle achievements more than 5 decades ago, non-relapse mortality (NRM) remains a major burden of alloSCT. There is increasing evidence that endothelial dysfunction is involved in many of the life-threatening complications of alloSCT, such as sinusoidal obstruction syndrome/venoocclusive disease, transplant-associated thrombotic microangiopathy, and refractory acute graft-versus host disease. This review delineates the role of the endothelium in severe complications after alloSCT and describes the current status of search for biomarkers predicting endothelial complications, including markers of endothelial vulnerability and markers of endothelial injury. Finally, implications of our current understanding of transplant-associated endothelial pathology for prevention and management of complications after alloSCT are discussed.
