How to develop and enhance the effectiveness of external flow of knowledge and information to improve invention and performance of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) has becomes crucial to both researchers and managers. This study was designed to purposely examine empirically the influence of the absorptive capacity on the relationship of organizational learning capability and SMEs performance. A total of 206 valid questionnaires obtained from personal administration of the survey instrument on SMEs manager in Kano state Nigeria. Partial Least Square Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM). The result of the study indicates that learning capability significantly and positively relates to SMEs firms performance, equally learning capability positively relates with absorptive capacity. The study further established significant positive relationship between absorptive capacity and SMEs performance. Similarly, absorptive capacity mediates the relationship between learning capability and SMEs performance. The study conclude that experimentation, risk taking, external interaction, dialogue and participatory decision making influences SMEs knowledge acquisition, assimilation, transformation and application for better performance.

This study examines the moderating role of youth empowerment on the relationship between Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) in Niger State, Nigeria. The main objective of the study is to delve into whether SMEs has substantial impact on the reduction of poverty in Niger State, Nigeria. A survey technique was employed and questionnaire was used to collect data from 432 SMEs owners in 8 selected Local Government Areas of Niger State, Nigeria. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences was used for descriptive analysis and Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) is used for testing for hypotheses. The results showed that there are positive changes in the socio-economic status of the people due to their involvement in SMEs activities of employment, innovation, human capital development and income; the results showed that the moderating effect of youth empowerment has positive influence on the relationship between SMEs and MPI. The results imply that SMEs owners should be empowered to enable them have access to resources to finance their businesses; and greater effort should be accorded to the empowerment of youth so as to further reduce poverty in Nigeria.

The contribution of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to economic growth makes the performance of SMEs need to be improved, but in creating the optimal performance it needs a competitive advantage that must be owned by every SME. The competitive advantage can be influenced by several factors. This research was conducted with the aim to analyze the influence of entrepreneurial leadership and innovation capacity toward competitive advantage on SMEs of the Trade Service Department of Surabaya City. This study uses a quantitative approach. Data collection was done by distributing questionnaires. Data analysis technique used is analysis of The Structural Equation Model (SEM) with Partial Least Square (PLS) program. This study examines the moderating effect of firm size on the relationship between innovation and firm performance of small and medium enterprises in 29 countries in Eastern European and Central Asia. The study also investigates whether the impact of innovation in products and processes on firm performance is affected by financial capital. The method applied is partial least square structural equation modelling. The findings indicate that firm size and the financial capital both moderate and mediate the impact of innovation on firm performance, positively or negatively. The findings have implications for decision makers by highlighting the significance of firm size and financial sources when planning to introduce innovations to enhance firm performance.

This study aimed to examine the influence of related party transactions (RPT) on tax aggressiveness by using earning management as an intervening variable. This study was performed based on the perception that RPT is a positive practice and it is predicted to decrease tax aggressiveness. Besides aiming to find empirical evidence of positive role of RPT in the field of taxation, this study also aimed to test the positive role of earning management in reducing tax aggressiveness. The population of this study was 47 of manufacturing company registered on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period of 2014-2016 having transactions with related party (RPT). The analysis method of this study was structural equation model using Partial Least Square (PLS) software. This findings supported the hypothesis that RPT and earning management negatively affects tax aggressiveness. The results of the study also showed that earning management mediate the relationship between RPT and tax aggressiveness.Keywords: RPT, tax aggressiveness, earning management

The importance of Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) towards economic development and growth is considerable. Some SMEs are facing difficulties to their development due to the lack of financial resources and management experience. The objective of this study is to check the relationships of financial management practices on profitability of small and medium enterprises and also to check the impact of agency cost on this relationship. This study consists of data analysis of two hundred SMEs from Faisalabad Pakistan. The study used primary data predominantly. SPSS 23 is used for descriptive analysis and Structural Equation Model (SEM) through Partial Least Square (PLS) 3 for hypothesis testing. The findings of this study indicate the presence of positive relationship between financial management practices and SMEs profitability but agency cost as a moderator has no effect on this relationship. The study strongly recommends higher adherence to financial management practices. Policy makers, developments partners, owners, and managers of SMEs may use these findings for sustainability of their business in Pakistan.

Purpose – This paper examines the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation, innovation capacity, and firm performance in the creative industries context. Design/methodology/approach – The developed conceptual model is tested using partial least square ( PLS ) using a sample of 30 creative industries small medium enterprises owners. Findings – The result of the PLS model shows that both EO and IC act as a basis for improved business performance among small and medium enterprises. Based on the research findings, it can be argued that both EO and EO fully unlock their value-creating potential among small and medium enterprises. Originality/value – In addition to providing initial insight on the relationship between entrepreneurial action, innovative capacity, and performance with the creative industries, the paper also is one of the first on the creative industries to focus on firm-level strategy.Tujuan dari makalah ini adalah membahas hubungan antara orientasi kewirausahaan, kapasitas inovasi, dan kinerja perusahaan dalam konteks industri kreatif. Desain / metodologi / pendekatan - Model konseptual yang dikembangkan diuji menggunakan partial least square (PLS) menggunakan sampel 30 pemilik UKM industri kreatif. Temuan - Hasil model PLS menunjukkan bahwa baik EO dan IC bertindak sebagai dasar untuk meningkatkan kesuksesan proyek di antara usaha kecil dan menengah. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian, dapat dikatakan bahwa EO dan IC sepenuhnya membuka kunci potensi penciptaan nilai mereka di antara perusahaan kecil dan menengah. Orisinalitas / nilai – Dalam studi ini selain memberikan wawasan awal antar tindakan kewirausahaan, kapasitas inovaif dan kinerja dalam indsutri kreatif. Makalah ini juga merupakan salah satu yang pertama di industri kreatif untuk fokus pada tingkat perusahaan. <p>The increasing Muslim population in recent years has resulted in an increased demand for halal food. This study aims to determine the effect of religiosity, awareness of halal food, and attitude towards halal food on purchase intention by millennial generations. This research is quantitative research with survey analysis method. The data used in this study is primary data using a questionnaire as a research instrument. The researchers surveyed 230 Muslim respondents of millennial age at President University. The sampling technique used in this study is judgment sampling method. Data analysis was performed using Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) software, namely SmartPLS version 3.2.8. The hypotheses were tested through path coefficient, t-Significance, p-Value, and determination coefficient (R²). Based on the results of this study, it is found that: 1) halal awareness has a significant effect on attitude towards halal food, 2) religiosity, halal awareness and attitude towards halal food each has a significant effect on purchase intention of halal food and finally, 3) halal awareness as mediated by attitude towards halal food has an effect on purchase intention of halal food. Whereas the relationship between religiosity and attitude towards halal food and the relationship between religiosity and purchase intention of halal food as mediated by attitude towards halal food cannot be supported. The result of this research is useful to predict the future of the halal industry in Muslim-majority countries. It is recommended that food marketers should consider these elements when producing and preparing marketing campaigns for halal foods.</p><p><em><strong>Bahasa Indonesia Abstrak</strong>: Meningkatnya populasi Muslim akhir-akhir ini berakibat pada meningkatnya permintaan terhadap makanan halal. Studi ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui pengaruh religiositas, kesadaran terhadap makanan halal, dan sikap terhadap makanan halal, terhadap intensi membeli makanan halal di kalangan generasi milenial. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yang menggunakan metode survai. Data yang digunakan merupakan data primer yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan kuesioner sebagai instrumen penelitian. Sampel penelitian adalah 230 orang Muslim dari generasi milenial di President University. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah judgment sampling method. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) software, yaitu SmartPLS version 3.2.8. Hipotesa penelitian diuji dengan melihat nilai koefisien jalur, nilai t, nilai p, dan koefisien determinsasi (R²). Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, ditemukan bahwa: 1) kesadaran halal mempengaruhi sikap terhadap makanan halal secara signifikan, 2) religiositas, kesadaran halal, dan sikap terhadap makanan halal, masing-masing memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap intensi membeli makanan halal, 3) sikap terhadap makanan halal memediasi pengaruh kesadaran halal terhadap intensi membeli makanan halal. Hasil penelitian juga memperlihatkan bahwa pengaruh religiositas atas sikap terhadap makanan halal tidak didukung data, demikian pula sikap terhadap makanan halal tidak memediasi pengaruh religiositas terhadap intensi membeli makanan halal. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan bermanfaat untuk memperkirakan masa depan industri Halal di negara yang berpenduduk mayoritas Muslim. Para pemasar makanan perlu </em><em>mempertimbangkan variabel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ketika menghasilkan dan mempersiapkan kampanye pemasaran untuk makanan halal.</em></p>

The entrepreneurial orientation that affects the performance of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Jember is a research objective. The study population was 172 micro, small and medium enterprises in Jember. This research uses 100 respondents with simple random sampling technique. The research respondents were the owners of the MSME as informants. Collecting data by distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents. The collected data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) Partial Least Square (PLS) software. The results showed that the autonomous dimension had a significant effect on the performance of MSMEs, while the other dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation: innovation, proactivity and risk had no significant effect.

This research aims to examine the effect of customer satisfaction on customer trust, the effect of security perception on customer satisfaction and customer trust, the influence of privacy on customer satisfaction and customer trust, the influence of brand awareness on customer satisfaction and customer trust, as well as the influence of customer satisfaction mediation on the relationship between perception security, privacy and brand awareness with customer trust. This research focuses observations on 100 people in Surabaya who have made transactions on online shopping sites. Private students and employees dominate the number of respondents in this research. To test the research hypothesis, this research adopted the Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) technique using SmartPLS. This research proves that brand awareness has a significant effect on customer trust and customer satisfaction, security perceptions have a significant effect on customer trust and customer satisfaction, privacy has a significant effect on customer trust and not on customer satisfaction, and customer satisfaction on customer trust

Covid-19 penetrates into Indonesia to have an impact on Business, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). One of the MSMEs affected by the Covid-19 pandemic is the Cibaduyut Shoe Industry Center. This has an impact on business, marketing, information and the competitiveness of MSME players in Cibaduyut. So the research objective is to find and determine the effect of entrepreneurial orientation, marketing performance, and ICT capabilities on competitive advantage. The research method used is quantitative with the research sample being SMEs in Cibaduyut and analysis using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square. While the results of the study provide results for the greatest influence on the ICT capability variable of 44.9%. The conclusion in this study is that the entrepreneurial orientation variable and marketing performance do not have a significant effect on competitive advantage, while the ICT capability variable has a significant effect.
