The results of experimental researches were received on a gas-electric installation with a rated power of 30 kW at 1500 rpm. The spark-ignited petrol drive engine (8-cylinder, 100 mm cylinder diameter, 88 mm stroke) was converted to a pure gas one. The compression ratio of 8.5 did not change. The gas fuel supply system consists of a supply line and an emergency shut-off circuit. The natural gas supply line was connected to the domestic main line through a special gas distributor. On the basis of HEINZMANN components, a system for dosing mixed gas fuel was developed, which, through a microprocessor control unit and an actuator, acted on the throttle valve of the gas mixer. In experimental researches, the composite fuel was a model gas – a mixture of natural and carbon dioxide gases, which was prepared in a zero pressure reducer before the gas mixer. With an increase in the volume fraction of carbon dioxide in the model gas by more than 34 %, a deterioration of the combustion process was observed in the steady state. In the article, based on the analysis of the experimental results of the operation of a piston gas engine on a model gas, an algorithm for the use of associated automatic control of biogas and methane feeds is substantiated. The transition from quantitative to qualitative regulation of the gas-air mixture has been substantiated. To do this, it is necessary to create two automatic control loops for the supply of air and a mixture of natural gas, which are interconnected through an external load. With the developed algorithm, as the load increases, the supply of natural gas increases, and the supply of biogas decreases. With an increase in the load of 75 % or more, a more intensive enrichment of the fuel mixture with natural gas occurs than at low and medium loads. The proposed algorithm for regulating the fuel mixture can be implemented using electromagnetic gas injectors for dosing the components of the composite fuel. Signals from sensors for oxygen and methane content in exhaust gases were selected as corrective links for the coupled control algorithm. Recommendations on the choice of tuning modes for oxygen and methane sensors have been developed.

This paper presents the experimental researches regarding the corrosion of some steel materials in field waters attending natural gas. The corrosion rates of tested steels are determined and the results are discussed. It is found that the dynamics process is described by an exponential kinetic equation.

The article develops and analyzes a method of the comprehensive evaluation of the quality of natural gas as an energy source. The method is based on establishing the calorific value of natural gas as a determinative index of its quality, taking into account all gas properties: both those that positively affect the gas calorific value and its energy content, and those that adversely affect. The generalized definition of natural gas quality as the degree to which the set of the own gas characteristics (component composition and physical properties) meet the requirements concerning energy content, safety, ecology, and other factors is given. The results of experimental researches on natural gas quality according to the developed procedure are also presented.

The state-of-the art the problem concerning reduction the NOx formation by humidification the combustion air is briefly consideredan, alized and discussed. The proper technologies of combustion the wet inflammable mixtures are considered for the cases of using the water vapour pump (WVP), Maisotsenko cycle (M-cycle) and suitable facilities along with the cases of operation the combined systems with heat recovery due transfer the water vapour energy to working medium (combustion products). Both environmental and power advantages of the systems of «wet combustion» have been demonstrated accordingly data collected in some earlier researches. The results of experimental researches of burning process under conditions of input the water vapour into the gas–air mixture to be supplied for combustion are presented in the paper in frame of consideration the results of own authors’ tests. Given information concerning the investigation of environmental consequences of impact the water vapour within the inflammable mixture on nitrogen oxides NOx value in combustion products ([NOx] concentration) has been generalized. The techniques of experimental researches, the design of firing rig and instrumentation, used in the tests have been described. The distinction of ignition the natural gas-air mixture and of stable flame maintenance for case of free vertical flame operation have been evaluated in dependence on inflammable mixture’s composition along with studying of impact a moisture content — H2O concentration in initial gas-air mixture. Comparative evaluations of NO value within an open flame in dependence on temperature and on composition of initial natural gas — air mixture (ratio «air : gas») have been carried out. An opportunity of two-times reduction of maximum NOmax concentration within a flame by initial gas-air mixture enrichment with water vapour has been proven. Bibl. 23, Fig.10, Tab.1.

The paper presents a series of experimental researches performed using the design of experiments method RSD (Response Surface Design) for modeling and optimizing the welding process of PE 100 pipelines, used in natural gas distribution. In this sense, the aim was to analyze the influence of controllable factors such as pressure, temperature and time on the objective functions, aiming to obtain certain characteristics of the welded joint. By modeling the welding process, based on the results obtained, an optimal welding procedure was established and validated to meet the conditions imposed on the objective functions.

In this paper, the experimental researches on replacement of CH4 in the hydrate by use of CO2 reported by researchers both at home and abroad are summarized and analyzed, and the advantages and disadvantages of this method on natural gas production from hydrate is discussed. The latest progresses of CH4 replacement experiment with gaseous CO2, liquid CO2 and CO2 emulsion are present, and the superiority of CO2 emulsion on replacement of CH4 is emphasized. Moreover, the latest experimental research on preparation of CO2 emulsion is introduced, and the key technologies on the replacement of CH4 hydrate with different states of CO2 are indicated.
