This paper analyzed the corrosion environment of Missan oilfields and investigated the oilfield country tubular goods used in other similar oilfields. Summarized the effect of partial pressure ratio of H2S/CO2 and Cl-to the corrosion behavior of OCTG. This paper concluded the service condition, test results and anti-corrosion mechanism of carbon steel, low-chrome steel, modified martensitic stainless steel and nickel alloy. Finally arrived at conclusion that the nickel alloy can meet the requirement of Missan oilfields, some literature reported that the modified martensitic stainless steel can apply in H2S/CO2 environment. In the condition that be easy to replace the tubular, carbon steel and low-chrome steel tubular can meet the requirement with corrosion inhibitor.

Abstract The proton pump inhibitor lansoprazole (PPIL) drug is examined as corrosion inhibitor for high carbon steel (HCS) dipped in 1.0M HCl. The study was conducted utilizing ac impedance spectroscopy (EIS), Mass loss (Ml), polarization tests, and surface checks were utilized to illustrate the importance of this PPIL extract to the prevent corrosion process for HCS. The influence of temperature and concentration of PPIL on the efficiency of inhibition were tested. The corrosion mechanism occurs, when the PPIL extract molecules block the active center in the electrode surface. The inhibition efficiency (%IF) of HCS occurs by the adsorption procedure and HCS is subject to the adsorption of Langmuir. Polarization curves showed that PPIL drug is a mixed- type inhibitor that retards the dissolution of HCS. IF % was deliberated with altering in the concentration of PPIL various temperature of the medium. From the outcome data we get that the good agreement in the all methods.

Abstract: Corrosion inhibition of mild carbon steel, CT3,  in 1.0 M HCl solution by iodide  (with different concentrations, from 0.1g/l to 5.0g/l), mix of caffeine and iodide was investigated by electrochemical methods and micro surface observations (SEM). Experiment result showed that: (1) as the concentration of iodide increases, the inhibition efficiency increases;  Iodide acts as a mix – type inhibitor but inhibits anodic reaction is predominant. (2) Mix of 1.0 g/l iodide ang caffeine acts as a typical mix – type inhibitor. the current densities of both of anodic and cathode are decline when concentration of caffeine is 1.0 g/l or more. Inhibition efficiency max is approximately 96% at concentration of 5.0 g/l caffeine, the inhibition efficiency maintained relatively stable within 5 days.

Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is the most dangerous element which exists in oil and gas reservoir. H2S acidifies water which causes pitting corrosion to carbon steel pipelines. Corrosion reaction will increase fast when it combines with oxygen and carbon dioxide (CO2). Thus, they can significantly reduce service life of transportation pipelines and processing facilities in oil and gas industries. Understanding corrosion mechanism of H2S is crucial to study since many severe deterioration of carbon steels pipelines found in oil and gas industries facilities. To investigate H2S corrosion accurately, it requires studying physical, electrical and chemical properties of the environment. This paper concentrates, especially, on carbon steel corrosion caused by H2S gas. How this gas reacts with carbon steel in oil and gas reservoir is also discussed. This paper also reviews the developments of corrosion prediction software of H2S corrosion. The corrosion mechanism of H2S combined with CO2 gas is also in focused.
