Higher education dropout has been considered a major concern for several researchers in the field of education around the World. Although different studies were carried out to deal with the topic, they all faced common limitations. This paper explores the twofold research conducted to investigate higher education dropout in Education studies at two of the main Catalan public universities. First, a review of the different theoretical perspectives that tackled dropout was carried out to combine the direct and indirect dropout predictors. Second, some research was conducted in the faculties of Education in the selected two Catalan public universities to investigate the antecedents of higher education dropout. The utilized instrument discussed in this paper is the survey. In the first part, the predictors of higher education dropout were combined in a 5-layer model called the ¨Dimensions of Academic Dropout” wheel (Naaman, 2018). In the second part, the results of the survey analyzed quantitively revealed that dissatisfaction from the program and academic failure are the most important antecedents of higher education dropout in education studies in Catalonia.

Higher education training, once an option, is now a requirement to qualify for entry-level jobs. In much of the world, accessible and affordable education needed to qualify for work is not available. Countries with limited economies cannot afford to build campuses and train the teachers. International campuses have been tried, but they are expensive and of limited value. Borderless online degrees are an affordable solution to quickly deliver this training anywhere in the world. In contrast to start of online learning, which was which was dominated by a few large universities, borderless online degrees will be democratic. Community colleges, technical colleges, public universities, private universities, and the for-profits will participate, and providers will be from all countries. Borderless online degrees will present challenges, require innovative synchronous online pedagogy, and necessitate enhanced student services.

Increasing financial resources has been regarded as one of the particular importance of the current higher education development in Vietnam, notably public universities. These groups of higher education institutions are facing challenges as their main sources of funding - state allocation - are declining gradually. In this study, the authors examine the mechanisms employed in other countries across the world to improve financial resources for their higher education institutions. Thus, some implications are withdrawn for public higher education institutions in Vietnam.

The huge development in the websites and continuous exchange of the information led to more consideration of the websites accessibility. There are many accessibility-based on studies conducted throughout the world. However, the existing literature lacks a study on the assessment of accessibility to the Iraqi universities websites. Accordingly, this study measured the accessibility to websites of 36 Iraqi public universities listed in the official webpage of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education. Furthermore, it explored the relationships among three free web accessibility tools, namely Web Accessibility Versatile Evaluator, EIII Page Checker and Access Monitor, to test their agreement in terms of the accessibility results. These three free tools were used to evaluate the accessibility of the Iraqi universities websites. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences was used to analyze the results. The results of the three tools showed that the issue of accessibility is ignored by the webmasters of websites under the study. In addition, this study presented agreement among the three tools in terms of results.   http://dx.doi.org/10.25130/tjps.24.2019.060

The COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to all the health, psychological, economic and other consequences it left, directly affected all levels of the education system in the world, including Bosnia and Herzegovina. Unlike other studies and courses studied at higher education institutions, the specificity of literature teaching is that in addition to textbooks on theoretical aspects of literature, students have a mandatory reading list. The paper aims to present ways of adapting to online children’s literature teaching and the challenges faced by teachers and students of pedagogical faculties at two public universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In terms of the analysis of the results of online teaching, Kirkpatrick 's evaluation model was applied, which is also the basic method of this paper. Keywords: children; COVID-19; literature; online teaching; Kirkpatrick’s model

AbstractThis text analyzes what has and what has not happened in Mexican higher education during the last 10 years, particularly what has happened in the public universities (the illustrative case of the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla). For that purpose, we propose a different way of analyzing organizational change, by focusing on the changes in the perspective of a changing environment and the response of the organization to said environment. That analytical focus offers guidelines not only to describe the changes but also to be able to make comparisons with other institutions and countries, or to be able to judge the quality or the direction of the change, as well as to be able to know whether a change was an innovation or a step backward. Thus, we see vaguely that in the face of the changes in the world, and in Mexico , the public national universities have been reluctant to change; and when change has occurred, it has done so inopportunely and incongruently with the changes in other regions.

This book discusses the local effects of globalisation, especially in the context of social work, health and practical theology, as well as the challenges of higher education in a troubled world. The more globalised the world becomes, the more important local identities are. The global becomes effective in the local sphere. This phenomenon, called ‘glocalisation’ since the 1990s, poses many challenges to people and to the social structures in which they operate.

Education has been considered as an indispensable asset of every individual, community and nation today. Indias higher education system is the third largest in the world, after China and the United States (World Bank). Tamil Nadu occupies the first place in terms of possession of higher educational institutions in the private sector in the country with over 46 percent(27) universities, 94 percent(464) professional colleges and 65 percent(383) arts and science colleges(2011). Studies to understand the profile of the entrepreneurs providing higher education either in India or Tamil Nadu were hardly available. This paper attempts to map the demographic profile of the entrepreneurs providing higher education in Arts and Science colleges in Tamil Nadu through an empirical analysis, carried out among 25 entrepreneurs spread across the state. This paper presents a summary of major inferences of the analysis.
