. Introduction. The paper considers the efficiency of significant technical and tactical elements of the game (catching and passing the ball) in a competitive environment. The purpose of the study is to examine the performance of catching and passing by qualified handball teams using the HandballTraning computer program. Review of the literature. The coaches do not sufficiently focus on catching and passing techniques during training and competition. As a result, there are few scientific and methodological publications related to these elements. The paper reviews scientific publications by V.Ya. Ignatieva, V.V. Ampleeva, O.V. Romenskaya, I.Yu. Bliznova, Nguen Khyu Chung, and M.V. Zhiiyar. Material and methods. The study involved analyzing the games of the Belarusian Handball Championship among the women’s Top League teams. Seven teams participating in the Championship were analyzed, and 28 games were considered. The results of the study. Analysis of the games has indicated that the teams at the bottom of the championship table make a large number of errors in the considered game elements. It is also worth noting that more mistakes are made during important and crucial games, which determine the team tournament standings. Besides, outside and half-right and left players showed a low level of catching and passing the ball. Conclusion. The technique of catching and passing the ball makes a significant contribution to the victory of the team. This technique should be given more attention during the training of teams of different ages and levels of skills. Moreover, the level of general, special, and technical training of a player affects the performance and efficiency of catching and passing the ball, which is also worth paying attention to in the training process. In this article, an analysis of the existing literature is carried out. It focused on the netiquette (country, date, objectives, methodological design, main variables, sample details, and measurement methods) included in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. This systematic review of the literature has been developed entirely according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews (PRISMA). The initial search yielded 53 results, of which 18 exceeded the inclusion criteria and were analyzed in detail. These results show that this is a poorly defined line of research, both in theory and in practice. There is a need to update the theoretical framework and an analysis of the empirical proposals, whose samples are supported by students or similar. Knowing, understanding, and analyzing netiquette is a necessity in a society in which information and communication technologies (ICT) have changed the way of socializing and communicating. A new reality in which there is cyber-bullying, digital scams, fake news, and haters on social networks.

SummaryBackground: Based on today‘s information and communication technologies the open access paradigm has become an important approach for adequately communicating new scientific knowledge.Objectives: Summarizing the present situa -tion for journal transformation. Presenting criteria for adequate transformation as well as a specific approach for it. Describing our exemplary implementation of such a journal transformation.Methods: Studying the respective literature as well as discussing this topic in various discussion groups and meetings (primarily of editors and publishers, but also of authors and readers), with long term experience as editors and /or publishers of scientific publications as prerequisite.Results: There is a clear will, particularly of political and funding organizations, towards open access publishing. In spite of this, there is still a large amount of scientific knowl edge, being communicated through subscription-based journals. For successfully transforming such journals into open access, sixteen criteria for a goal-oriented, stepwise, sustainable, and fair transformation are suggested. The Tandem Model as transformation approach is introduced. Our exemplary implementation is done in the Trans-O-MIM project. It is exploring strategies, models and evaluation metrics for journal transforma tion. As instance the journal Methods of Information in Medicine will apply the Tandem Model from 2017 onwards.Conclusions: Within Trans-O-MIM we will reach at least nine of the sixteen criteria for adequate transformation. It was positive to implement Trans-O-MIM as international research project. After first steps for transforming Methods have successfully been made, challenges will remain, among others, in identifying appropriate incentives for open access publishing in order to support its transformation.

La deserción estudiantil es un problema que los programas de educación superior deben atender con prioridad, dado que provocan inconvenientes a la hora de la acreditación universitaria, son fuente de frustración para los estudiantes y constituyen una pérdida de recursos económicos. El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar si el uso de tecnologías de la informática y comunicación, en su sentido más amplio, permite disminuir la deserción estudiantil en la maestría de Manejo de Recursos Naturales de la Universidad Estatal a Distancia UNED (Costa Rica) y aumenta su calidad y vinculación con las necesidades de la sociedad. Realizamos un análisis comparativo de indicadores de dicha maestría antes del establecimiento de dos medidas y después de ellas. Las medidas de la informática y la comunicación que se aplicaron son: 1) creación de un laboratorio de investigación y 2) generación de bases de datos de seguimiento del avance de los proyectos de investigación de estudiantes. Los periodos analizados van del 2002 hasta finales del 2007 y los acumulados del 2002 hasta finales del 2011. Los indicadores analizados se relacionan con la actividad académica de estudiantes y docentes, y con la proyección hacia la sociedad (medida por las tesis y publicaciones científicas producidas durante esos periodos). Se encontró que en el primer periodo el 61% de los egresados estabaninactivos; mientras que el segundo la inactividad descendió a 17%. La investigación realizada por los profesores pasó de cero a 36%. La proyección a la sociedad pasó de solo tres a 18 tesis, y de cero a 44 publicaciones divulgativas y 18 artículos científicos. Se concluye que las dos medidas de uso de tecnología de la informática y comunicación si apoyan los procesos de enseñanza, ya que disminuye la deserción de egresados y favorece la vinculación del programa con la sociedad.ABSTRACTComputer and communication technologies (ICT) help to reduce attrition in distance graduate education programs. Higher education dropout is a priority problem for university accreditation. It is also a frustration source for students and economic waste. The objective of this study was to determine whether the use of Information and Communication Technologies, in its broadest sense, can: reduce student dropout in the Master Program of Natural Resources Management at the Open University of Costa Rica, UNED, and increases its quality and linkage with society. We performed a comparative analysis of indicators before and after establishing two Information and Communication Technologies’ Innovations: 1) creation of a research laboratory and 2)generation student research project progress monitoring databases. Analyzed periods are: a) 2002 to late 2007 and b) 2002 to late 2011. Analyzed indicators are related to students and professors academic activities and society impact (theses, informative and scientific publications amount). We found that in the first period 61% of graduates were inactive, while in the second period inactivity decreased to 17%. Professors conducting research changed from zero to 36%. Society impact increased from three to 18 theses, and from zero to 44 informative publications and 18 scientific papers. We conclude that the two Information and Communication Technologies’ innovations applied, do support teaching, since attrition decreased and bonding with society increased.

The purpose of this chapter is to investigate the roles of school management teams in curriculum delivery through information and communication technologies (ICTs) in education concerning e-schools' community engagement. In terms of summarizing the content, the background is provided regarding the context of this problem and a review of the literature as per the outlined objectives of the chapter and including applicable theoretical and conceptual frameworks. The methodology, research method, paradigm, and sampling techniques used are indicated, as are data collection instruments, data analysis and interpretation, and research ethics. Finally, in dealing with the issues, controversies, problems, and challenges presented in the research questions and objectives, the findings as per the empirical study conducted are outlined with the discussions of solutions and recommendations. Future research directions are also discussed before the conclusion provides a discussion of the overall coverage of the chapter.

New technologies have helped to improve the tourism sector and to develop strategies that resulted in the so-called smart destinations, underpinned and transformed by modern information and communication technologies (ICTs). Besides, tourism is a global market that continuously seeks mechanisms to grab tourists' and visitors' attention. In view of that, in recent decades, the gamification concept has acquired new definitions from different perspectives, but always associated with the idea of leisure. In tourism, gamification is related with experiences, which by using game elements and digital game design techniques (virtual reality or augmented reality, among others) improve the tourist experience and the user's engagement. This chapter addresses gamification and its influence on tourism experience, together with some gamification applications' examples that can be effective mechanisms to promote tourism businesses or tourism destinations, raising engagement and generating trust.

This paper aims to discuss some of the specifics regardingthe use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in school life, especially in pedagogical practices and exercise management, emphasizethe need for training of school managers for the effective use of these resources, contextualised, meaningful and critically. The methodological procedure that guided the development of this study was based on the realization of a systematic literature review in Scielo databases. The choice for this type of research was due to enable the researcher to have contact with the knowledge already produced in the "Technologies and School Management" as well as the possibility of understanding and identifying the main ideas that guide the theme in question here . It conducted a survey of scientific publications, producedin Brazil in the last 10 years between 2004 to 2014, discussing the use of information and communication technologies in school, especially articulated to the school management. The descriptors used were: "Technologies in School" and "School Management". The main results obtained from this study, which does not exhaust the wealth the theme, highlights the importance of developing training processes that promote service to school managers and their teams moments of reflections in pairs and the perceived need of building a collaborative and digital culture in schools.

This chapter looks at the management of public sector records and archives in Botswana. The chapter starts with an overview of developments in the East and Southern African Regional Branch of the International Council on Archives (ESARBICA), which provides a foundation for discussion of developments in Botswana. It looks at the extent to which the Botswana National Archives and Records Services (BNARS) has fulfilled its role as the overseer of the creation, maintenance, use, disposition of public sector records, and preservation of the country's cultural heritage. It also looks at the impact of information and communication technologies and management of electronic records together with issues of staffing, training, and the challenges and prospects the country is faced with in managing records and archives as a symbol of cultural heritage. The chapter is based on an extensive review of the literature and the author's personal experience. It ends with recommendations on future directions.

This chapter aims to identify, analyze, and classify the methodologies and methods described in the literature for the usability evaluation of systems and services based on information and communication technologies. The methodology used was a systematic review of the literature. The studies included in the analysis were classified into empirical and analytical methodologies (test, inquiry, controlled experiment, or inspection). A total of 2116 studies were included, of which 1308 were classified. In terms of results, the inquiry methodology was the most frequent in this review, followed by test, inspection, and finally, the controlled experiment methodology. A combination of methodologies is relatively common, especially the combination of test and inquiry methodologies, probably because they assess different but complementary aspects of usability contributing to a more comprehensive assessment.
