The diffusion of digital technologies into industrial working relations results in new developments in professional qualifications as well as an altered health situation of workers. We assume that current tendencies in the organization of employment and work - flexibilization, rationalization and precarization - are being continued and further intensified. Our findings show that technology-driven performance pressures and a growing scope for action of employees do not coincide with a healthy improvement of worker activities and advances in professional qualifications.

Introduction. We examined the results of scientific activity of the department of orthopedic denticity of Donetsk National Medical University on invention and digital technologies for 2020, as well as the possibility of their implementation in the educational process and industrial practice. All developments relate to the field of orthopedic dentistry and are intended for dental prosthetics. Aim. To analyze the possibility of using the inventive activity results in the work of the department of orthopedic dentistry in teaching the discipline «Clinical orthopedic dentistry». Materials and methods. We proposed several developments, the main purpose of which was the use of digital technologies in dental prosthetics with removable dentures. Results. Scientific developments were introduced into the educational process of the department in field of teaching the discipline «Clinical orthopedic dentistry». Certain techniques are also tested in dental facilities of various forms of ownership. Conclusion. We noted that the consideration and analysis of new developments in the relevant classes, the comparison of their effectiveness with existing analogues arouses interest among students, and in result, stimulates students to rationalization and inventive activity. The results of such work can be realized both during the educational process and during practical training.

This essay explores the ways in which new developments in digital research infrastructure change our expectations of archival research and offer opportunities for a newly energized feminist approach to the archive. A specific platform, the Humanities Networked Infrastructure, is explored as an example of how digital technologies enable the coproduction of the archive and at the same time extend the possibilities for serendipitous discovery.

The authors consider foreign practical experience (primarily on the example of the PRC) in the application of digital technologies and artificial intelligence to solve practical tasks dictated, among other things, by the need to control the spread of COVID-19. A comparison of the methods used to combat the coronavirus in China and European countries demonstrates an emphasis on the heteropolar possibilities for digital development and their difference in the effectiveness of the fight against the disease and in terms of individual rights and freedoms. Attention is also paid to the specifics of collecting the information for Big Data, as well as the reality and prospects of implementing innovative digital technologies and artificial intelligence in the Russian Federation. The introduction of the latest digital technologies and artificial intelligence systems requires a balance between legislation adapted to new developments, and efforts aimed at ensuring the security of citizens ‘ private lives as a result of the increasing digitalization in all state systems. It emphasizes the importance of digital illiteracyin all areas: both the practical use of applications, and the security and functioning of technologies in order to create a comfortable digital environment for citizens of all generations.

Heterogeneous catalysts can be of varying complexity ranging from single or double phase systems to complicated mixtures of metals and oxides with additives to help promote chemical reactions, extend the life of the catalysts, prevent poisoning etc. Although catalysis occurs on the surface of most systems, detailed descriptions of the microstructure and chemistry of catalysts can be helpful for developing an understanding of the mechanism by which a catalyst facilitates a reaction. Recent years have seen continued development and improvement of various TEM, STEM and AEM techniques for yielding information on the structure and chemistry of catalysts on the nanometer scale. Here we review some quantitative approaches to catalyst characterization that have resulted from new developments in instrumentation.HREM has been used to examine structural features of catalysts often by employing profile imaging techniques to study atomic details on the surface. Digital recording techniques employing slow-scan CCD cameras have facilitated the use of low-dose imaging in zeolite structure analysis and electron crystallography. Fig. la shows a low-dose image from SSZ-33 zeolite revealing the presence of a stacking fault.

Despite advances in surgical management, it is estimated that 20–30% of children with repaired cleft palate will continue to have hypernasal speech and require a second surgery to create normal velopharyngeal function (Bricknell, McFadden, & Curran, 2002; Härtel, Karsten, & Gundlach, 1994; McWilliams, 1990). A qualitative perceptual assessment by a speech-language pathologist is considered the most important step of the evaluation for children with resonance disorders (Peterson-Falzone, Hardin-Jones, & Karnell, 2010). Direct and indirect instrumental analyses should be used to confirm or validate the perceptual evaluation of an experienced speech-language pathologist (Paal, Reulbach, Strobel-Schwarthoff, Nkenke, & Schuster, 2005). The purpose of this article is to provide an overview of current instrumental assessment methods used in cleft palate care. Both direct and indirect instrumental procedures will be reviewed with descriptions of the advantages and disadvantages of each. Lastly, new developments for evaluating velopharyngeal structures and function will be provided.

This paper points to new developments in the context of entertainment theory. Starting from a background of well-established theories that have been proposed and elaborated mainly by Zillmann and his collaborators since the 1980s, a new two-factor model of entertainment is introduced. This model encompasses “enjoyment” and “appreciation” as two independent factors. In addition, several open questions regarding cultural differences in humans’ responses to entertainment products or the usefulness of various theoretical concepts like “presence,” “identification,” or “transportation” are also discussed. Finally, the question of why media users are seeking entertainment is brought to the forefront, and a possibly relevant need such as the “search for meaningfulness” is mentioned as a possible major candidate for such an explanation.
