The aim of the workis to investigate memeticity as a defining characteristic of modern communicative practices unfolding in the digital environment of the Internet. The research methodology consists in the application of analytical, semiotic, discursive, culturological methods in the study of memetics and memes as fundamental polymodal and interdiscursive objects of digital culture, acting as means of communication capable of forming social narratives and discourses through the prism of social semiotics. her identity. The scientific novelty of the work is that for the first time modern communicative practices of the digital environment are analyzed in terms of prevalence in their structure ofmemeticity and memetic communication; Memes, in turn, are considered not only as units of cultural information and entertainment content, but also as digital polysemes that have the ability to serve as a universal means of communication, explanation of reality, commenting on current events, promoting important norms and values. Conclusions. Over the last decade, memes have become a complex phenomenon of Internet communication and modern communication practices in general, which are characterized by memetics as an integral attribute. From the point of view of the development of modern digital information space, memes are understood as cultural information that is transmitted from person to person, but, at the same time, grows into a social phenomenon that shapes the thinking, behavior and actions of communities. Memes combine forms of intertextuality with elements of popular culture, emphasizing the dynamics of the real and virtual world and becoming an online discourse tool that gives users a sense of commitment to creating and participating in it and even influencing others. Given the discursive potential, polysemy, realized in memes, it is possible to understand the ability of these artifacts of digital culture to form new meanings and values, evaluative judgments. Memetics is a part of public communication that defines memes as texts created, disseminated and collectively transformed by various participants in participatory digital culture, enhancing socio-cultural integration in society, allowing co-thinkers to co-opt into a single symbolic space built on new precedents or precedents.

The purpose of the work is to investigate the formation of information culture as a defining characteristic of modern communicative practices and socio-cultural existence of man in the digital environment. The research methodology consists in the application of analytical, semiotic, systemic, culturological methods in the study of information as a fundamental factor in the formation of information culture and in general the digital environment of the information society. Information is a subsystem capable of transforming all spheres of society, while forming the needs and skills in obtaining, processing and transmitting information. Oversaturation and rapid circulation of information encourages the introduction of the concept of information culture, which can become a cognitive filter in the selection of information. The scientific novelty of the work is to expand information on the impact of information on the deepening of socio-cultural competencies, the level of socialization and education of the individual due to the information factor, as well as the ability to resist the negative effects of information on society in various forms. Information culture should become the core of the modern digital environment not only as an indicator of literacy and competence, but also as a general worldview vector that can influence the explanation of reality, commenting on current events, promoting important norms and values. Conclusions. In recent decades, information culture has become increasingly relevant as a phenomenon generated by the information society, mediated by Internet communication and modern communication practices in general. The development of modern digital information space generates a huge amount of information that is transmitted from person to person, but, at the same time, grows into a social phenomenon that shapes the thinking, behavior and actions of communities. The information culture of society becomes tangential and affects various spheres of life, which can no longer be understood and defined outside the information context, while serving as an effective factor in human perception of the surrounding reality, the world at large. Information culture is directly related to the social nature of the individual, due to the relevant values ​​and worldviews. Modern information culture is inextricably linked with technological progress and means of communication, which are the determining factors of social development that can influence the way of social life and worldview. Thus, the formation of information culture of society becomes an important and continuous process, mediated by the influence of information of human existence. The article examines the stratification of human capital as a categorical unit of a research in the digital information space. The necessity of cognition of the properties and living conditions of generations arising from the nature of functioning in new categories of social and economic interaction is revealed. The authors substantiate the thesis that the study of the complex structure of human capital, prospects and dynamics of interaction is one of the most urgent tasks in the information space. Scientific research in this area can provide an invaluable contribution to improving the system of public administration and management of human capital in modern Russia. The article proposes the use of a cenological approach to the study and assessment of human capital as a theoretical and methodological basis for modeling and managing social systems. The goal is to develop approaches to the creation of a targeted structure of human capital, allowing the construction of a key social image in the information and digital environment.

The purpose of copyright is to encourage the creation and mass dissemination of a wide variety of works. Until recently, most means of mass dissemination required a significant capital investment. The lion's share of the economic proceeds of copyrights were therefore channeled to publishers and distributors, and the law was designed to facilitate that. Digital distribution invites us to reconsider all of the assumptions underlying that model. We are still in the early history of the networked digital environment, but already we've seen experiments with both direct and consumer-to-consumer distribution of works of authorship. One remarkable example of the difference consumer-to-consumer dissemination can make is seen in the astonishing information space that has grown up on the world wide web. The Internet has transformed information and the way we interact with it by creating an easily accessible, dynamic, shared information space. Its success derives from the fact that information sharing on the Web is almost frictionless; individuals are free to post information they learned from others without having to secure their permissions. This paper proposes that we look for some of the answers to the vexing problem of unauthorized exchange of music files on the Internet in the wisdom intellectual property law has accumulated about the protection and distribution of factual information. In particular, it analyzes the digital information resource that has developed on the Internet, and suggests that what we should be trying to achieve is an online musical smorgasbord of comparable breadth and variety. It proposes that we adopt a legal architecture that encourages but does not compel copyright owners to make their works available for widespread sharing over digital networks, and that we incorporate into that architecture a payment mechanism, based on a blanket or collective license, designed to compensate creators and to bypass unnecessary intermediaries.

In modern conditions of overall informatization, the majorities of children of older pre-school age actively use gadgets and have access to the Internet. However, just one-fourth of parents demonstrate concerns about digital security. That is why the issues associated with cybersecurity training in preschool education, legislative regulation in ensuring the security and development of children in a digital environment are relevant for present-day pre-school education. The study was based on the activities carried out by teachers and psychologists of the methodology association of the Leninsky district of Yekaterinburg. The methods used in the study involved observations, the analysis of information obtained through counseling and psychological checks, interviews, surveys of instructors and specialists dealing with parents in kindergarten. As a result, we revealed the problems with digital competence among all the participants of the process of upbringing and education and defined the impact of parents on the formation of digital literacy. Of special interest is a new position when the modern parent is given a “relief” from a child with the help of gadgets, which calls for family psychological support on pre-schoolers’ secure use of digital technologies. The main task of working with parents is to shape perceptions of the problems associated with free contacts of the child with information technologies and the necessity to control digital information received by the child.

Artists have long engaged with digital and networked technologies in critical and creative ways to explore both new art forms and novel ways of disseminating artworks. Net-based artworks are often created with the intent to circulate outside traditional institutional spaces, and many are shared via artist-run platforms that involve curatorial practices distinct from those of museums or commercial galleries. This article focuses on a particular artist-run platform called Paper-Thin, characterizing the activities involved in managing the platform as digital curation in a polysemous sense – as both the curation of digital artworks and the stewardship of digital information in a complex technological ecosystem. While scholars and cultural heritage professionals have developed innovative preservation strategies for digital and new media artworks housed in institutional collections, the ongoing care of artworks shared through networked alternative spaces is largely carried out co-operatively by the artists and curators of these platforms. Drawing on Howard Becker’s sociological theory of art worlds as networks of co-operative actors, this article describes the patterns of co-operative work involved in creating, exhibiting, and then caring for Net-based art. The article outlines the importance, for cultural heritage professionals, of understanding the digital-curation practices of artists, as these artist-run networked platforms demonstrate emergent approaches to the stewardship of digital culture that move beyond a custodial paradigm.

This paper examines the user-aware of institutional repositories in Jadavpur University. The main objective of this study is to investigate the awareness of Institutional Repository (IR) in an academic institution and different aspects associated with it, such as, software, sources for user’s awareness, motivators for developing a repository, demand of the users in changing paradigms from traditional to digital environment, etc. In the present days, libraries are also adopting the latest technologies to provide best possible services in user friendly form. This paper also describes the potential role of institutional repositories and its easiness and simplicity of use are attracting more patrons in the use of institutional repositories. Only a wide range of user awareness is needed for proper usage of its beauty. Entirely this paper is based on a critical study, which measures the utility of institutional repositories in users’ point of view.

This chapter aims to clarify the role of social networking sites (SNSs) such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn in building the reputation of enterprises. SNSs have a vast potential in the digital environment to build reputation and thus a long-term competitive advantage for companies. The chapter opts for a literature review with which to discuss the difficulties and possibilities companies have in building reputation through SNSs. The SNSs used in companies are marketing-centered. Engagement is promoted only with customers, and is short-term and centered on results instead of being long-term and centered on competitive advantage and promoting engagement with different stakeholders. This issue is not dependent on the size of the company. Instead, it is dependent on understanding the concept of reputation from a strategic point of view, with companies adapting their management to their own particularities and to the different possibilities offered by SNSs.

The composition of the battle of Til-Tuba from Sennacherib's palace at Nineveh is usually described as a relief depicting a recorded historical event. It is considered a good and solid example of the Assyrian concern with history and the Assyrian propensity for propagandistic depictions of current events. The scene, which is surely saturated in the ideology of empire, has already been discussed from that point of view. Is it true to the historical event? Is it an exaggeration? Did the Assyrians really do these things? How close or how distant is this depiction of the battle from the real historical event of war?The Assyrian method of representation is generally one that is attentive to minute details and concerned with ethnographic accuracy, even when the composition is hierarchical and representations of the body are stylised into abstract patterns. Realism is certainly a distinctive aspect of Assyrian narrative art and accurate details of dress and landscape were used to create what Roland Barthes would have called the effect of the real.
