Introduction: Marital infidelity is considered a shocking issue for couples and families and common phenomenon for counselors and therapists. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of an integrated model of emotionally-focused therapy (EFT) and Gottmanchr('39')s model in internal cohesion and reduction of controlling behaviors in couples faced with spousal betrayal. Materials and Methods: This quasi-experimental study was carried out on two experimental groups and one control group with a pretest-posttest design. The statistical population of the study included all the women referring to one of the counseling centers in Tehran, Iran, during 2018-2019 due to marital conflicts, problems related to satisfaction, and need for the improvement of marital relationships. The study population was chosen based on purposive sampling after the random screening. The data were collected by the Internal Cohesion Questionnaire and Controlling Behaviors Questionnaire. Descriptive and inferential statistical methods and multivariate analysis of covariance were used to eliminate the effect of pretest using SPSS software (version 22). Results: The obtained results showed that the integrated model of EFT and Gottmanchr('39')s model had a greater effect on the comprehensibility of the experimental groups than that of the control group. Moreover, the findings demonstrated that EFT and Gottmanchr('39')s model had a significant effect on the reduction of controlling behaviors (P<0.001). The results also revealed that the integrated model of EFT and Gottmanchr('39')s model had a significant effect on internal cohesion and controlling behaviors, and this effect was lasting at follow-up (P<0.001). Conclusion: It can be concluded that the combination of EFT and Gottmanchr('39')s therapy is an effective pattern in couples affected by infidelity and can be used as one of the therapeutic or educational methods in couple therapy programs.

Background: Marital conflict results from the disharmony of husband and wife needs and the way to meet them, egocentrism, difference in requests and irresponsible behavioral schemas for marital relationship and marriage. The goal of the current study is to compare the effectiveness of structural couple therapy and re-decision couple therapy on the reduction of marital conflicts in infertile couples of Sanandaj. Materials and Methods: to do this goal semi experimental pre and post test method using to control and experimental groups was applied. Statistical population of this research was infertile couples referring to infertility center of Besat Hospital in Sanandaj in 2018 who were selected by convenient sampling method and replaced randomly on 3 groups of 12 persons. To collecting data, marital conflicts questionnaire was used. Data were analyzed using statistical tests of multivariate analysis of covariance and spss-22 software. Results: The results showed that cooperation component (F=14.17, P<0.001), decreased sex (F=28.53, P<0.009), increasing emotional reactions (F=16.99, P<0.001), increasing personal relationship with onechr('39')s relatives (F=24.02, P<0.001), decreasing family relationship with spousechr('39')s friends and relatives (F=21.81, P<0.001), separating financial affairs from each other (F=18.70, P<0.001), decreasing effective relationship (F=28.53, P<0.001), but there is no significant difference between three groups of experimental and control in increasing childrenchr('39')schr('39') support component (F=0.091, P<0.05). There is a significant difference between the effectiveness of the Minuchin structural couple therapy and the re-decision couple therapy and control group in decreasing marital conflict (P<0.001). Conclusion: the results showed the importance of couple-therapy Interventions through re-decision on decreasing marital conflicts in infertile couples. Generally, the results indicated that Minuchin structural couple therapy is more effective than re-decision couple therapy on decreasing marital conflicts in infertile couples.

Aim: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of emotion focused couple therapy on mental well-being and performance of maladapted couple referred to counselling centers. Methods: the present study had a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest, and a control group. The statistical population of the study consisted of all incompatible couples (n=30 couples) who had referred to counseling centers in shiraz in 1397, which were selected through available sampling method. Out of these 30 couples, 15 couples were randomly substituted as experimental group and 15 couples as control groups; and individuals in both groups were evaluated using questionnaires before performing the intervention in the experimental group. Data collection tools included the Great Oral and Magyar-Moe Welfare Family Performance Scale, the experimental group received ten 90-minute sessions of emotional treatment, while the control group did not receive any treatments. Data were analyzed by one–way analysis of covariance. Findings: The results of one-way analysis of covariance on the mean scores of post-test of mental well-being and family dysfunction of experimental and control groups with pre- test control, respectively (p<0.0001, F=40.77) and (p<0.0001, F=172.59), which indicates the significance of the effect of emotion-focused couple therapy. Conclusion: The analysis showed the effectiveness of emotion-focused couple therapy in increasing mental well-being and performance of conflicted couples.

Introduction: Extramarital affairs or marital infidelity can be considered one of the most complex and traumatic emotional problems between couples. Objectives: This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of emotion-focused couple therapy in burnout, marital forgiveness, and communication styles of couples affected by extramarital relationships. Materials and Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted based on an applied research method and pretest-posttest design with a control group. The statistical population included all people referred to counseling centers in Sari, Iran, with extramarital affairs between April and June 2020. The study sample consisted of 30 individuals selected by convenient sampling method and randomly divided into an experimental (emotion-focused couple therapy; n=15) and a control group (n=15). The data were collected using the Couple Burnout Measure (CBM), Forgiveness Questionnaire, and Communication Styles Questionnaire. Subsequently, the obtained data were analyzed in SPSS software (version 22) through univariate analysis of covariance. Results: The findings showed that emotion-focused couple therapy had a statistically significant effect on the subjects regarding the Mutual Constructive Communication (F=7.64; P<0.001), Expectant Male/Female Sidetaker (F=74.18; P<0.001), Expectant Female/Male Sidetaker (F=47.11; P<0.001), Mutual Avoidance Communication (F=59.97; P<0.001), Forgiveness (F=80.15; P<0.001) and Marital Boredom (F=347.92; P<0.001). Conclusion: It can be concluded that emotion-focused couple therapy was effective in burnout, marital forgiveness, and communication styles of couples affected by extramarital relationships.

Introduction: The aim of current paper was to compare the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment group therapy (ACT) and group cognitive therapy (GCT) on Alexithymia and marital boredom (MB) among women affected by marital infidelity in Mashhad. Method: This clinical trial was a double- blind study with a pretest-posttest design in which two intervention groups and one control group were investigated. The study performed on women who realized their spouse infidelity and referred to Azad University Counseling Center in Mashhad in 2018. The sample consisted of 30 women who were selected by purposive sampling and were randomly assigned to two intervention groups and a control group (n=10 per group). The intervention groups were put under ACT training (twelve 90-minute sessions) and GCT training (twelve 90-minute sessions), but the control group did not receive any intervention. Data was obtained by the Toronto Alexithymia Scale-20 and Pines Marital Boredom Scale and was analyzed by multivariate analysis of covariance with SPSS (version 22) software. Results: The results showed a significant reduction in the mean score of MB in the ACT group, also there was a significant reduction in the mean score of Alexithymia in the GCT group (P <0.05). So comparing both therapies, ACT was more influential on reducing marital boredom whereas GCT was more effective on reducing alexithymia. Conclusion: Although both intervention methods were effective on Alexithymia and Marital Boredom in women affected by marital infidelity, it was demonstrated that ACT and GCT have more effect on Marital Boredom and Alexithymia, respectively.

Objective: The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of emotionally-focused couple therapy (EFCT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) in the quality of interpersonal relationships among couples with marital conflicts. Materials and Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest design and delayed follow-up. The study population consisted of 39 couples with marital conflicts referring to Behzisti counseling centers in Tayebad, Iran, within the second half of 2018 and first half of 2019. The participants, including 13 couples receiving EFCT, 13 couples receiving ACT, and 13 couples as the control group, were selected using convenience sampling. For the experimental groups, nine EFCT sessions and eight ACT sessions were held, and the control group was not subjected to any intervention. The research tools were Sanaeichr('39')s Marital Conflicts Questionnaire and Pierce’s Quality of Interpersonal Relationships Questionnaire that the couples of the three groups completed in three stages, namely pretest, posttest, and follow-up. Repeated measures analysis of variance, Bonferroni test, and SPSS statistical software (version 23) were used to analyze the data. Results: Repeated measures analysis of variance showed that ACT was more effective in the quality of interpersonal relationships among couples with marital conflicts than EFCT (P<0.001). Conclusion: The obtained results of the present study revealed that ACT was more effective than EFCT in the improvement of the quality of interpersonal relationships among couples with marital conflicts.

Background: Divorce is one of the most stressful life events leading to increased susceptibility to diseases and mood disorders such as hypochondriasis. Objectives: The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) on hypochondriasis and psychosocial adjustment in divorced women in Tehran. Methods: The research method was quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest design and a control group. The statistical population in this study consisted of divorced women suffering from divorce-induced psychological distress who visited counseling centers in Tehran in 2018. The sample consisted of 30 divorced women selected by convenience sampling method. The participants were randomly divided into experimental and control groups (n = 15 per group), and the pretest was performed for the experimental and control groups before the intervention program. The experimental group underwent ten sessions of ACT (90-minute sessions per week), and the control group did not receive any treatment. The research instruments included the Health Anxiety Inventory (HAI) and the Psychosocial Adjustment to Illness Scale (PAIS). The Shapiro-Wilk test, Levene test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) were used to analyze the data. Results: The results indicated that the ACT-based intervention significantly reduced hypochondriasis in divorced women (P = 0.043). In addition, ACT improved the psychosocial adjustment in these women (P = 0.0001). Conclusions: This intervention decreased anxiety under difficult conditions and also improved psychosocial adjustment in divorced women. Therefore, ACT can be used as an effective approach in reducing social and interactional problems and also anxiety in divorced women.

The aim of this study was the investigation of the efficacy of the Cognitive and Exposure therapy on the treatment of obsessive- compulsive disorder. This study is experimental expanded with multiple group pre-test, post-test. The statistical population of this study are included all patients with OCD, referred to clinical centers, hospitals and private clinics and counseling centers in Saghez and Boukan citiesat the age of 40-20 years. The statistical sample of this study is included 45 patientswith Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Who were selected randomly. Cognitive therapy was administered for the first experimental group and the second experimental group receives exposure therapy while the control group received no treatment. Subscales Madsly questionnaire was usedfor data gathering for OCD. For data analysis, multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) and least significant difference test to compare scores differences between pretest - posttest variables in the experimental and control groups was used. Findings showed that Cognitive and Aversion Therapy on the control group has a significant impact on the improvement of obsession, check out, washing, slowness and obsessive doubts. The results showed that Whittal Cognitive Therapy more impact on the reduction of obsessions in comparsion with Exposure therapy.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of aesthetics based teaching on students' attitudes toward school. This is an all-experimental study of pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of sixth grade students in schools Fardis in the academic year of 1997-98 was. The sampling method was simple random and the selected students were divided into experimental and control groups. The sample size was determined using Morgan table and the number of sample people in each group was 16. Experimental science course was taught in the experimental group by aesthetic teaching method and in the control group by traditional teaching method. To assess the attitude towards school, McCoach (2003) school attitude questionnaire (SAAS-R) was used with a reliability of 0.96. The obtained data were analyzed by multivariate analysis of covariance. The results showed that the level of attitude towards school in students who took the sixth grade experimental sciences course with aesthetic methods was different from the students who learned this course with the usual teaching methods in schools. Therefore, the aesthetic method can play a role as an active and effective method in students' academic achievement in science.

Background: Cancer causes psychological problems, such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, feelings of sadness, and anger, and family problems. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of schema therapy on psychological capital and vulnerable attachment in women with breast cancer. Methods: The research method was quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest design and a control group. The statistical population included all women with breast cancer admitted to the Imam Khomeini Hospital, Tehran, Iran, from 23/07/2019 to 20/11/2019. The total number of the patients was 51, of whom 30 were purposefully selected and randomly assigned to an experimental and a control group (15 people in each group). The experimental group was exposed to schema therapy for 11 weekly 90-minute sessions, while the control group did not receive any training. The Luthans Psychological Capital Questionnaire and the Vulnerable Attachment Questionnaire were used to collect data. The collected data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance in SPSS-21 software. Results: The results of paired t-test showed a significant difference between the mean scores of the components of psychological capital and vulnerable attachment in the two experimental and control groups. Therefore, it can be stated that the effectiveness of schema therapy was associated with increased self-efficacy (P = 0.013), hope (P = 0.001), resilience (P = 0.034), optimism (P = 0.001), and decreased vulnerable attachment (P = 0.029). Conclusions: Based on the findings of this study regarding the effect of schema therapy on improving psychological capital and reducing vulnerable attachment, it can be concluded that schema therapy can be used as an effective intervention along with other therapies to reduce the problems of women with breast cancer.
