Every country's vehicular traffic is increasing, growing, and there is terrible traffic congestion at intersections. In the current case, most traffic lights have a fixed light sequence, so green light sequence is to determine with-out taking priority vehicles into account. As a result, priority crews such as police cars, ambulances, fire engines are still unable to perform, get stuck in traffic and come in late, which can result in the loss of valuable property and life, which does happen on occasion. The green light sequence is evaluated given the current state of traffic, without taking into account the existence of emergency vehicles. Our aim to this paper is to present a mechanism for scheduling emergency vehicles. It is provided to important such as access control protocol to convey emergency vehicle information to the Traffic Management Center (TMC) with time delay and to all alerts while using GPS techniques for acquiring emergency vehicle information. Only then is the emergency vehicle quickly dispatched, and the destination is reached on time. It would be helpful in the future for the prominence of casual vehicles.

Traffic lights play such important role in traffic management to control the traffic on the road. Situation at traffic light area is getting worse especially in the event of emergency cases. During traffic congestion, it is difficult for emergency vehicle to cross the road which involves many junctions. This situation leads to unsafe conditions which may cause accident. An Automatic Traffic Light Controller for Emergency Vehicle is designed and developed to help emergency vehicle crossing the road at traffic light junction during emergency situation. This project used Peripheral Interface Controller (PIC) to program a priority-based traffic light controller for emergency vehicle. During emergency cases, emergency vehicle like ambulance can trigger the traffic light signal to change from red to green in order to make clearance for its path automatically. Using Radio Frequency (RF) the traffic light operation will turn back to normal when the ambulance finishes crossing the road. Result showed the design is capable to response within the range of 55 meters. This project was successfully designed, implemented and tested.

Traffic signals play an important role in controlling and coordinating the traffic movement in cities especially in urban areas. As the traffic is exponentially increasing in cities and the pre-timed traffic light control is insufficient in effective timing of the traffic lights, it leads to poor traffic clearance and ultimately to heavy traffic congestion at intersections. Even the Emergency vehicles like Ambulance and Fire brigade are struck at such intersections and experience a prolonged waiting time. An adaptive and intelligent approach in design of traffic light signals is desirable and this paper contributes in applying fuzzy logic to control traffic signal of single four-way intersection giving priority to the Emergency vehicle clearance. The proposed control system is composed of two parallel controllers to select the appropriate lane for green signal and also to decide the appropriate green light time as per the real time traffic condition. Performance of the proposed system is evaluated by using simulations and comparing with pre-timed control system in changing traffic flow condition. Simulation results show significant improvement over the pre-timed control in terms of traffic clearance and lowering of Emergency vehicle wait time at the intersection especially when traffic intensity is high.

The traffic congestion is one of the major problems in crowded cities, which causes people to spend hours on the road. In traffic congestion situations, finding alternate routes for emergency vehicles, which provides shortest travel time to nearby hospital is critically life-saving issue. In this paper, we propose a traffic management system and an algorithm for routing of an emergency vehicle. The algorithm uses distance between source and destination, maximum vehicle count, maximum speed, average speed, traffic light conditions on the roads, which are assumed to support vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication in 5G IoT network. Simulations are performed on CupCarbon IoT simulator platform for various test scenarios. The performance of the proposed emergency vehicle routing algorithm is compared against well known Link State algorithm. And, the results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Intelligent Transport System (ITS) is blooming worldwide. The Traditional Traffic management system is a tedious process and it requires huge man power, to overcome this we have proposed an automatic Traffic monitoring system that has effective fleet management. The current transportation system at intersections and junctions has Traffic Lights with Fixed durations which increase the unnecessary staying time which intern harms the environment. An Adaptive traffic light control is implemented using SUMO simulator, that changes the duration of Green and Red light according to the traffic flow. This is an effective and efficient way to reduce the Traffic congestion. The traffic congestion is determined by taking the object count using deep learning approach (Convolutional Neural Network).

Traffic congestion is a common occurrence in Indonesia. Traffic congestion is increasing from year to year, causing many things to happen, such as longer travel time, increased transportation costs, serious disruptions to transporting products, decreasing levels of work productivity, and wasteful use of labor energy. Congestion is also caused by a traffic light control system that is made with a fixed time so it can not detect the density of certain paths. Traffic lights in Indonesia, frequent damage that makes the density and the flow of his road vehicles can not be controlled. From these problems, conducted research to reduce the density of vehicles using infrared sensors and see the waiting time of the vehicle when the red light. The traffic light control system will use Fuzzy Logic Mamdani method. In Mamdani method by applying fuzzy into each variable and will be done matching between rule with condition which fulfilled to determine contents of output to be executed by prototype. This congestion detection will help the system in controlling the green light time by looking at stable, medium, and traffic jams. When the bottleneck starts to detect, the prototype will add a green light time according to the condition that is 0 seconds, 5 seconds, 10 seconds, and 15 seconds. However, when the streets are not detected by traffic jams, the green light will be back to normal at 15 seconds without additional time

Traffic congestion may impede the power of emergency vehicles to arrive at the site of a traffic incident or other catastrophe in a fast and true way. Id's may not be a short one, but it is the optimal path that leads to the scene without passing in con-gested streets. Streets may be congestion for a long time and lead to not reach emergency vehicles to the destination place while other emergency vehicles can reach to the same destination place in fast which is far from the destination with uncrowded streets. This makes the emergency vehicle to reach the destination in fast. In this paper, The proposed module rep-resented in a map to show the algorithm for more than one source nodes to the destination node. In addition, a case study of a real city in Baghdad has been used to evaluate the proposed module. The results show the proposed module ability to find the optimal path with 27 to 204 seconds to give a clear recommendation for which vehicle must be moved to the destination node.

Every now and then traffic congestion has always been a hindrance in everyone’s normal life routine. This traffic congestion hindrance is very much problematic in case of high priority emergency vehicles namely ambulances, VIP vehicles, fire engines etc. So, traffic control has to be made proficient to provide smooth flow of vehicles. However, efficient synchronization of traffic at multiple junctions is complex. Conventional control systems do not handle the dynamic flow of traffic which results in chaos. In this project, implementation of an emergency vehicle detection system is done. The main objective is to provide a traffic-free route to the vehicles in order to save life. In this paper two cases are considered, in the initial case, the lane density at the junction will be calculated using ultrasonic sensors by Raspberry pi (Rpi) and the lane with minimal density route will be directed to the emergency vehicle NodeMcu in this case. Considering the assumption that hospital is present near to every lane. And in the second case, the conflict arises when two emergency vehicles are encountered at the same time at a junction, so this conflict is resolved in thispaper.

Increasing road congestion, travel time, number of accidents, carbon dioxide emissions, and fuel consumption are some of the consequences of growth in the vehicle population. Therefore, intelligent traffic controllers are required to solve road traffic congestion problems. The results of prevalent methods, including preset cycle time controller and vehicle-actuated controller, indicated that they do not effectively perform at traffic peak moments. Therefore, due to the deficiency of common methods, fuzzy logic based traffic signal controllers have attracted a lot of attention among researchers. In this article, a fuzzy logic based algorithm for 4-way intersections is proposed and it consists of two main stages for sorting the phase and determining the green light duration. The proposed system is simulated in the MATLAB programming environment and the performance of the designed controller and a conventional controller is compared for some of the presumed conditions. The results of applying the proposed system indicate that this algorithm has a better performance in different traffic conditions in contrast to a preset cycle time controller and it can reduce the number of vehicles behind traffic lights at intersections and the waiting time of passengers.

The urban traffic congestion is being increased day by day due to large number of vehicles are used by dense people in cities. In the current model of the Traffic Control System, the time delay of each signal light is static which leads to lot of waiting time and was tage of fuel. To overcome this problem, intelligent traffic management system of controlling the traffic lights using the ARM 7 controller and camera sensor is proposed. The camera which is installed along the pavement captures the real time video of the road. The video is then processed indifferent stages to find the number of vehicles in that particular lane using Convex hull technique and accordingly the time delay of the traffic signals has been changed dynamically. Incase, if an emergency vehicle like ambulance is detected by RF434 in a particular lane then automatically this lane will be given the highest priority to clear the traffic. Another feature is if any vehicle violates the traffic line that can also be identified by the RFID reader and automatically and an alert message will be sent to registered mobile number through GSM module which is interfaced with LPC2148.
