The study attempted to design reading materials for Medical Science at one of Vocational High Schools Medical Science in Serang. To produce satisfactory teaching materials, the researchers did the following steps: doing needs analysis, reviewing the principles of materials design and reading in a foreign language, designing course framework, designing syllabus, designing the reading materials, and implementing the sample lessons. The researchers employed qualitative methods in gathering the data. The instruments used were questionnaire and interview. The questionnaire was addressed to students, alumni, teachers and institution. The interview was collected from the companies or users that have ever recruited the graduated students. The needs analysis was carried out by distributing questionnaires. The results were then analyzed. The result of needs analysis, became the basis for the researchers to design course framework. The course framework was then developed into a syllabus. Finally the syllabus became the basis for designing reading materials. The reading materials for Vocational High School Husada Pratama applied a topical syllabus. Each lesson or unit had different topics, greeting and introduction. Introduction about nurse, health, dioalogue conversation nurse and patient, eat healthy food, profile a nurse, tools, disease, nutrition, the healthy diet pyramid. Each lesson also adopted various reading skills or strategies. They were skimming, scanning, and guessing meaning from context. When the materials had been designed, the researchers implemented six out of ten lessons of the coursebook. The results were satisfactory. Most students mentioned that the coursebook was related to their field of study. The majority of the students also said that the materials were understandable and interesting. This study dealt with the development of English Reading Materials of vocational school, Al-WashliyahTeladan Medan, majoring Software Engineering. The objectives of this study were to: 1) find out language skill and materials are needed by the students of Software Engineering, 2) develop the English materials for the majoring in software engineering students at the vocational high school grade XII. This study was conducted by Educational Research and Development R&D (Borg & Gall, 1989). The data of this research were from existing documents and the result of interview with teacher and student. The results of the research conveyed that the existing reading materials were mostly irrelevant because the title and content of the material was not appropriate and was not required for the students majoring in software engineering. The new English reading materials and syllabus were developed based on the students need related to the workplace. The materials and syllabus were developed from the existing materials from teacher. The developing materials were validated by two experts.

This study investigated the students’ speaking anxiety in the first grade of vocational high school. It emphasized on the level, the causal factors and the strategy to reduce the anxiety. It applied descriptive qualitative to answer the research questions. The data were obtained through questionnaire and interview. The Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS) questionnaires and interview were administered to 30 students. It was revealed that [a1] the factors that make students feel anxious in speaking in English were lack of preparation, afraid of left behind in understanding the material or what the teacher talks about, afraid of making mistakes, afraid of being laughed by his/her friends, unconfident to spell, pronounce and select the words in English. It was also found that there were eight students in level Relaxed, twelve students in level Mildly Anxious, and ten students in level Anxious. Last, the strategies that students should do to reduce their anxiety are do more preparation before speaking, try to be more confident in saying English words, and pronunciation practice. Keywords:   Speaking, Speaking anxiety, EFL Classroom. [a1]It was revealed that

Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan  (SMK) Negeri 1 Bumijawa yang merupakan salah satu sekolah menengah kejuruan di kabupaten Tegal yang terletak dikaki gunung Slamet dengan jarak  ± 50 dari kampus politeknik Harapan Bersama. Di Sekolah tersebut sistem jaringan komputer sudah sangat memadai, hal ini dibuktikan tersedia nya labortorium yang memadai. Selain itu disekolah tersebut terdapat berbagai jurusan, salah satunya adalah jurusan teknik komputer jaringan. Guna meningkatkan pengetahuan softskill dan hardskill siswa pada dunia industri nantinya, salah satunya adalah pengetahuan dalam pemanafaatan Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi  (TIK) khususnya pada pemahaman pembuatan web sederhana. Maka dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) tersebut dengan memberikan teori pengetahuan dan praktek pendampingan secara langsung kepada siswa-siswa selama 3 hari yakni dalam pembuatan web. Peningkatan pemahaman dalam pembuatan web tersebut dimaksudkan guna meningkatkan keterampilan hard skill kepada peserta. Kegiatan tersebut dimaksudkan untuk dapat menambah pengalaman pengetahuan tentang web sederhana dan memotivasi siswa untuk mengetahui lebih dalam tentang pembuatan web khususnya web sederhana. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa peserta sangat antusias mengikuti, peserta dapat mengenal, membuat, menggunakan serta mengelola web dinamis berupa blog dan peserta pelatihan telah memiliki web dinamis berupa blog. Kata kunci: Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri 1 Bumijawa, Web sederhana, Blog. Abstract  Vocational High School (SMK) 1 Bumijawa which is one of the vocational high schools in Tegal regency located at the foot of Mount Slamet with a distance of ± 50 from the Harapan Bersama polytechnic campus. At the school the computer network system was very adequate, this proved to be an adequate laboratory. In addition there are various departments in the school, one of which is a computer network engineering department. Vocational education is part of the education system that prepares graduates to have enough stock to be able to work in companies and master the experience of one field of work from many other occupations. In order to increase students' soft skills and hard skills knowledge in the industrial world later, one of them is knowledge in the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), especially in the understanding of making simple web. For this reason, understanding on the simple web can later be applied in the world of work or after graduating from vocational school. Then carried out community service activities at the Vocational High School (SMK) by providing knowledge theory and practice of mentoring directly to students for 3 days namely in making the web. Increased understanding in making the web is intended to improve the hard skills of the participants. The activity is intended to be able to add to the experience of knowledge about the simple web and motivate students to find out more about making web specifically the simple web. The results showed that the participants were very enthusiastic to follow, participants could recognize, create, use and manage dynamic web in the form of blogs and the trainees already had a dynamic web in the form of blogs. Keywords: Vocational High School, Simple Web, Blog.

High school in Indonesia has two types, specifically senior high schools and vocational schools (SMK). Vocational high schools in Indonesia have a lot of education focus which aims to provide education to their students so they can work immediately. One of the vocational schools in Indonesia is the Tangerang 4 Vocational High School which focuses on education in engineering. One of the engineering scopes at SMK Negeri 4 Tangerang is "Drawing Technique for Building" (Teknik Gambar Bangunan). "Drawing Technique for Building" is a vocational class that specializes in learning how to draw techniques for houses and buildings. As vocational students of "Building Drawing Technique", each student must learn how to draw techniques according to ISO standards complete with various etiquettes in manually, after proficient in drawing manually, students must learn AutoCAD, an software for drawing because this becomes the main competency as students "Building Drawing Techniques". To increase the capacity and capabilities of its students at SMK 4 Tangerang, the Budi Luhur University Architecture Study Program introduces one of the software related to building drawing The software introduced in Revit Architecture version 2013. Revit Architecture 2013 is a software that aims to create building construction designs for architects and supports the concept of BIM (Building Information Modeling). The output of this socialization is that students of SMK Negeri 4 Tangerang understanding about software for drawing techniques other than AutoCAD and various conveniences when drawing with Revit Architecture 2013 software

This study aimed to measure the validity and reliability of the questionnaire in the context of scientific research on the cooperation of vocational high schools and industry for example in the field of Hotel management. Participants (n=20) were teachers of Vocational High Schools and Trainers of Hotels. This is a quantitative study. The validity test was conducted through items content validity using Pearson Correlation Product Moment. The Cronbach Alpha value was applied to determine the reliability of the questionnaire. The result showed that questionnaire is valid with 35 questions and the values of Cronbach Alpha are Variable 1= 0,94 (perfect), Variable 2=0,84 (high), Variable 3= 0,53 (average), Variable 4=0,92 (perfect). Based on the results, it can be stated that the questionnaire is valid and reliable. Therefore, it can be used as an instrument for a study

Data from the City Blitar City Police Unit in 2016, as many as 1,799 or 15.9% of students committed traffic violations, from January to March 2017 as many as 438 or 11.3% of students committed  traffic violations. In addition to violations, 25 or 15.1% of traffic accidents involving students occurred. The accident caused 68 students to become victims. In 2017 January to March as many as 6 or 12.5% students were involved in traffic accidents. The accident caused 21 students to become victims. According to the data, it can be seen that the number of traffic violations in Blitar City is dominated by students, both students of junior high schools, senior high schools or vocational high schools. Then the Save Our Student (SOS) program was implemented to reduce the number of traffic offenses for students. The Save Our Student (SOS) Program is a Satlantas Polres Blitar Kota program in collaboration with schools, both Middle School (SMP), Senior High School (SMA) or Vocational High School (SMK) in Blitar City. The Save Our Student (SOS) Program is a program based on Law Number 22 Year 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transport and the Safety riding program. The Save Our Student (SOS) program is not just a momentary program, but an ongoing program in an effort to reduce the number of traffic violations on students in the City of Blitar. The Blitar City Police Traffic Unit Police in implementing the Save Our Student (SOS) Program needs a communication strategy, where the success rate of a goal will be achieved along with how the communication strategy is carried out in implementing the Save Our Student (SOS) Program. The purpose of the program, which is to reduce the number of traffic violations among students and prevent traffic accidents with fatality fatalities will be achieved.
