The existing problem of low profitability of passenger transportation, which is common for all public transport utilities, also has some common reasons that gave rise to them. The economic and management problems of the industry multiplied by the unsatisfactory level of transport services quality determine its low competitiveness. The article considers the groups of indicators determining the economic condition of the enterprises under consideration. These include: the state of the rolling stock inventory, the age of tram cars on the balance sheet of enterprises, the state of the tram infrastructure, as well as financial indicators. The article describes in detail the volume of passenger traffic over the past 10 years and changes in the balance of income and expenses of tram enterprises in the country. For the first time, the analysis of indicators of the efficiency of financial and operational activities of tram enterprises in the country has been made. Both the technical and economic level of a component of urban public transport – tram enterprises, and economic and technical factors influencing their crisis state has been determined. It is concluded that for the complete, timely and high-quality satisfaction of the people’s need for transportation, tram enterprises need to focus on improving their own technical and economic indicators taking into consideration the quality of the services provided and the safety of passenger transportation. Despite some positive shifts (extensive modernization of used tram cars, good prospects for establishing the production of domestic trams, repair and reconstruction of tram tracks and energy facilities, and others), the industry is still in a deep crisis, and only an integrated approach to solving urgent problems will allow the industry to reach a break-even level in the future. A comprehensive solution to the problems of improving the technical and economic indicators of tram enterprises functioning is an important component of improving the quality, safety and reliability of transport services for the residents of our cities, will make cities and towns of Ukraine safer places from the environmental point of view.

The intensification of public transport in urban areas due to increased mobility at the regional and state levels, discrepancies between urban areas with the same population and the lack of statistics related to the efficiency and quality of public transport services are the main factors of our work. It is necessary to draw boundaries between the quality of services and the performance indicators of the public transport system. The quality of services is the subjective result of many intangible variables. The quality of service can be approached from four sides: from the point of view of the passenger, the performance of the vehicle, the specialized passenger transportation company, and the Government. Accessibility, comfort and convenience-these are the main indicators that should be evaluated by the population as having high ratings for the good quality of urban transport services. The tool used to collect the data is the preference survey. Keywords: service quality, public transport, evaluation, efficiency, methods, passenger, survey

The paper seeks to examine customer’s perception about the state of public transport in Ghana; assess the extent to which customers are satisfied with Metro Mass Transport’s(MMT)public bus service delivery; and further establish the relationship (if any) among service quality, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty. A quantitative approach, using questionnaires, was adopted to survey 377 regular students from the University of Cape Coast, who mostly patronize public transport services, especially on vacations, public holidays and school reopening seasons. Data were analyzed, using descriptive statistics and Pearson’s product-moment correlation technique. The findings indicate that the respondents’ strongest perception of the state of public transportation was its importance to society. Majority of the respondents were generally dissatisfied with MMTsservice delivery; and empirically, there was a weak, negative correlation between customer satisfaction in terms of service quality and customer loyalty. It is recommended that Metro Mass Transit Limitedmanagement focuses on some quality variables such as safety-comfort-cleanliness; information-communication; accessibility; terminal and stop points performance; and online performance, in order to improve and sustain customer loyalty.

The growth and concentration of motor vehicles in developing cities has led to increased demand for urban mobility. Renewed commitments of Asian cities are required in order to achieve the SDG target on urban mobility as well as to enhance overall sustainability of urban transport systems and services. Cities and countries need to track the progress in improving urban mobility. With a view to support evidence based decision, the paper introduces the Sustainable Urban Transport Index (SUTI) of urban transport services, to help summarize, track and compare the state of urban mobility in Asian cities, as model for developing cities in the world. It also presents the results of pilot application of SUTI in four Asian cities: Greater Jakarta; Kathmandu; Hanoi; and Colombo. The four pilot cities were able to collect data, analyzed and assess the state of urban mobility in their city using SUTI. The assessment result supported policy makers to identify policy gaps, prioritize additional measures and investment strategies required to improve urban transport systems and services in each city. The visual output display in spider diagram was useful to comprehend state of all 10 key indicators in a glace. The pilot study demonstrated the usefulness of SUTI tool and the pilot cities were already using the results of SUTI analysis. In Kathmandu additional efforts are required to improve pedestrian infrastructure and facilities, Colombo needed to improve quality and reliability of public transport system, while Hanoi and Greater Jakarta need to put additional efforts to increase mode share of public transport system.

Oil flax grows in many countries of the world. Fibre production on its basis can significantly increase the profitability of flax-growing farms. At the present stage, taking into account the real possibilities of the national economy, for its effective development it is necessary to introduce advanced technologies. Cur-rently, processing enterprises may choose among different technological equipment lines to process oil flax into fibre and thus get additional profit. (Research purpose) The determination of a technologically and economical-ly effective line for oil flax processing. (Materials and methods) The main materials for calculation were represent-ed by the indicators of production capacity, the average annual value of fixed as-sets, the amount of money spent on salaries and wages, etc. The main research method is the balance method that allows making a plan in the form of a balance sheet that takes into account the sources of inputs and the requirements for these inputs. (Results and discussions) The authors have considered low-cost lines for oil flax processing into short fibre on the basis of disintegrators of various brands (from domestic and foreign producers), offered characteristics of the fibre obtained in the lines, and analyzed technical and economic indicators of various technologi-cal lines under different conditions, and the payback period of capital expenditures for different oil flax acreages. (Conclusions) The authors have determined that the most effective is the pro-cessing of oil flax from an area of at least 1000 hectares, with a throughput capaci-ty of raw materials of at least 1000 kg/h and a distance of the transportation of straw rolls to a processing site of 50 km. They have also obtained technological and economic data that can be used in the organization of oil flax processing into marketable fibre.

The relevance of the problem is due to the lack of a method and indicators for assessing the level of transport mobility of cities. The purpose of the article is to develop a method for assessing the level of transport mobility. Currently, there are no science - based criteria for assessing the level of mobility in terms of the convenience of passengers using various types of public transport for travel. The use of the transport mobility index will contribute not only to improving the quality of passenger transport, but also to improving the level of transport services in General. The developed method for assessing the level of transport mobility will allow you to study the dynamics of changes in indicators and plan measures to improve the quality of transport services. The implementation of the proposed method will allow analyzing routes, as well as planning measures to increase the level of transport mobility and the attractiveness of public transport for passenger transportation.

The paper considers methods of improving technical and economic indicators of direct current electric rolling stock. The authors propose a scheme of electric drive with pulse converters that are controlled by instantaneous values of armature and exciting currents. The scheme provides the realization of regenerative and resistance braking on almost the entire speed range. The paper also presents frequency characteristics of converters at speed from 5 to 100 km/h and proposes a scheme of direct current electric locomotive with pulse regulation of voltage on three connections of traction motors. Moreover, the authors discuss a structure of autonomous voltage inverter with group switching and reduced number of fully controlled semiconductor devices and present methods to prevent wheelspin through changing their load on rails and excitement of traction motors.

Within the framework of the public administration system effectiveness in the provision of services to the population, the authors consider topical issues of improving the quality of the work of such a social sector as public transport. It is noted that the state reform of public transport demonstrates high efficiency in implementing a set of tasks (development of digitalization of the industry, renovation of transport parks, etc.). However, in the field of transport services, there are still open meta related to the need to optimize their practical activities. An important point in the study is the analysis of the features in assessing the degree of satisfaction with transport services consumers. These features are largely due to the quality of the driver himself, who is the subject of providing services to vehicle users, and the key role of passengers who are able to objectively assess the work of social services. The article discusses various methods of increasing efficiency, including in the field of transport management. The Kazakhstani experience of research and application of these and other approaches to improving the efficiency of public transport management is considered. Having considered this practice, it is proposed to introduce an assessment of the satisfaction of public transport passengers; to implement the research objectives, the authors proposed a methodology based on the results of a survey of the population in an online format. In the presence of an integrated mobile application, this methodology will make it possible to introduce an estimated indicator of passenger satisfaction with completed trips. The result of these measures should be an improvement in the quality of services provided by public transport, which, in turn, will stimulate the abandonment of private vehicles in favor of public ones, significantly improve the environmental situation in the city, and also be able to relieve the traffic of city streets during almost all working hours. In the context of the state program for the implementation of the "smart" urban transport project, the maximum optimization of the existing system and the achievement of the ultimate goal of ensuring comfortable and safe travel by public transport is possible. Keywords: public administration, efficiency, key performance indicators, KPI system, KPI system algorithm, customer satisfaction, efficiency assessment, quality of services to the population, social work.

This article is devoted to the formation of theoretical foundations and methodological approaches of scientific coverage of economic and statistical problems of the functioning of urban passenger transport systems. The problematic is considered on the example of the city of Kharkiv. Public transport in Kharkiv is represented by almost the maximum number of types city trams, trolleybuses and metro, as well as private road carriers. The concept of consistency is based on the territorial principle and intermodality. The general indicator of the level of development of the territorial transport system is its balance. Unfortunately, the territorial transport systems of Ukraine are insufficient for the passage of existing traffic flows, and transport infrastructure facilities and rolling stock do not ensure the safe and comfortable movement of individual vehicles, public transport passengers, cyclists and pedestrians. Public transport does not provide all citizens with financially affordable and technically qualitative services and cannot be an alternative to individual cars. Traffic is not sufficiently regulated by existing traffic control means. Operated vehicles have a negative impact on the environment and create traffic jams. As follows from the study, this unsatisfactory state is due to the lack of independence and dependence of communal transport enterprises on subsidies from the city budget, unbalanced state policy in the field of tariff setting, insufficient rates of renewal of rolling stock and transport infrastructure, insufficient rates of introduction of non-cash payment for travel, imperfection of methods and ways to manage enterprises as a single intermodal system. Solving the described problems requires an integrated approach. First of all, this is the creation of a systemic management mechanism to create a balanced territorial transport system. This is what shows the relevance of the chosen topic and determined the choice of the direction of research in scientific and practical aspects. The research results will be used to improve the efficiency of the municipal transport.
