The possibility of modernization of boilers TVH-8M, TVH-8 and NYYSTU-5, operated in Ukraine, with the increasing of their technical and economic indicators to the modern European level is shown. Projects of modernization of boilers have been developed, which consist in redesign of heating surfaces in convective shafts of existing boilers without increasing their overall dimensions with using convective part of pipes diameter 32 x 3 mm and replacement of burner devices by developed new type MPIG-3. It is shown that the results of industrial implementations achieved efficiency of boilers type TVH-8M (TVH-8) 94-96% in the operating range of their load and obtained the calculated efficiency for boilers NYYSTU-5 92-94%. It is experimentally proven that when installing special calibrated nozzle, instead of drilled holes in the collectors of gas burners, it is possible to keep the nozzle geometry (natural gas burner consumption depending on pressure) unchanged throughout the service life. The technical possibility of combustion of biogas and mixtures of natural gas and hydrogen in the slot bottom diffusion burners of the MPIG-3 type, when replacing only the nozzle apparatus is shown. In 2019, according to the technological assignment of the Iron and Steel Institute (ISI), the reconstruction of the blast furnace (BF) No. 3 of PJSC «AZOVSTAL IRON & STEEL WORKS» was carried out for the long-term energy-efficient production of pig iron with using pulverized coal (PCI) up to 180 kg/t with a change in the profile according to the technological task of ISI. The design of the BF No. 3 profile corresponds to the best world solutions for furnaces efficiently working with pulverized coal, and the furnace was equipped with five mathematical models of ISI («Horn», «Mine», «Heat losses», «Loading», «Slag»). Specialists of ISI developed recommendations and carried out technological support for the operation of BF No.3, which made it possible to increase the removal of pig iron from the design 2.1 t/m3 to 2.27 t/m3 and achieved the best indicators in the blast furnace workshop in terms of coke and equivalent fuel consumption by increasing the productivity of the burden system, using a rational burden loading matrix, using a rational pressure drop in the furnace, which allows the maximum use of the power of the blower machine, forcing the furnace with technical oxygen and other measures. Using the heat power model of I.D. Semikin was made a comparative analysis of the best for six months indicators of thermal performance and technical and economic indicators of BF №3 of PJSC «AZOVSTAL IRON & STEEL WORKS», with a volume of 1800 m3 before (work with natural gas) and after major repairs (work with pulverized coal and with natural gas). Using the exergy method of analysis based on the results of calculating heat and power balances, a comparative analysis of changes in the energy efficiency and environmental indicators of BF No. 3 before and after its major repairs was carried out. It shown the expediency of integrated mastering of operating modes and modernization of the blast furnace for long-term and energy-efficient operation with pulverized coal. It disclosed the mechanism for improving the technical and economic indicators of work after major repairs by changing the heat and power conditions of the blast furnace. Its shown Improvement of exergy efficiency factor and environmental performance of BF No. 3 after major repairs.

Because ordinary hydraulic system exists multiple fault, power waste and hard controlling in actuators due to the complexity of actuators and variability of load. A new hydraulic system based on the load sensing technology is designed for the new type steel arch installing machine. The results of the simulation for forearm loop based on AMESim show that the designed hydraulic system is energy-efficient and load sensing function is effectively achieved, the actuator control performance is well.

Abstract A new type of integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) with chemical-looping combustion and saturation for air is proposed and investigated. Chemical-looping combustion may be carried out in two successive reactions between two reactors, a reduction reactor (coal gas with metal oxides) and an oxidation reactor (the reduced metal with oxygen in air). The study on the new system has revealed that the thermal efficiency of this new-generation power plant will be increased by approximately 10–15 percentage points compared to the conventional IGCC with CO2 recovery. Furthermore, to develop the chemical-looping combustor, we have experimentally examined the kinetic behavior between solid looping materials and coal gas in a high-pressure fixed bed reactor. We have identified that the coal gas chemical-looping combustor has much better reactivity, compared to the natural gas one. This finding is completely different from the direct combustion in which combustion with natural gas is much easier than that with other fuels. Hence, this new type of coal gas combustion will make breakthrough in clean coal technology by simultaneously resolving energy and environment problems.

As a new type of gear transmission, the gear transmission with meshed medium belt has advantages of reducing vibration noise and friction damage on the gear surface. During the process of the gear transmission with meshed medium belt, the friction and wear is mainly occurred on the medium belt, so the service life of the medium belt has a direct effect on the performance and efficiency of the transmission system. The friction and wear mechanism of the medium belt is researched and effective ways to prolong the service life of the medium belt are given in this paper.

Energy efficient management of gas pipelines is one of the priority areas for optimizing gas costs.

Aimed at solving the problems of radial fluid pressure imbalance, bigger flow ripple and shorter service life that exists in traditional gear pumps, a new type of gear pump based on the principle of harmonic gear drive is put forth, where the function for pumping fluid is achieved by mutual engagement between flexible gear and rigid gear. The structural composition, principle and features of the new gear pump are described in this article. The new pump has two higher pressure cavities arranged symmetrically, which counteracts the fluid pressure and the pump could work longer. Its displacement is two times that of the conventional gear pump and the total discharge is bigger. Flow pulsation, vibration and noise in the new pump are evidently diminished, which make the operation smooth. The new gear pump has superiority in performance and could guide the development in gear pump technology.

This paper will put forward a device installed into the fuel system, which can use the sliding electric arc to electrolyze the natural gas to make hydrogen and then blend them in the fuel pipe for final combustion. This device can help to make a new type of HCNG engine fuel system, which electrolyses the single fuel (natural gas) partly to make appropriate-rate hydrogen for combustion. And in this paper, this new fuel system will be described in detail. The picture of sliding electric arc is shown in the end of this paper.
