This study aims to know about the difference of unfair score based on item response theory referred to the model of students answers scoring of Junior High Schools throughout the city of Palangka Raya. The samples were taken from 17 state and private Junior High Schools throughout the city of Palangka Raya. Furthermore, the students answers were corrected by using scoring models, namely punishment score and correct score. Before doing the test to take the data, the data had to be validated first, both in the content and the empirical data. From the 40 test items, they have obtained 30 valid items. To obtain the proportion of fair score, it was used the estimation using BILOG-MG program. Furthermore, the data were analyzed with the different proportions (Z) of the two groups. The results of the data analysis showed that Zcount is -2.806, while Ztable is -1.65 so Zcount rank outside the receipt area of H0. It shows that the students with the scoring models of punishment score encompass the score that more than the scoring models of the correct score with a significant difference in the proportion. It can be concluded that the students who were corrected by using scoring models of punishment score have a fair index better than the fair index of the students were corrected by using scoring models of correct score.

The purpose of this study was investigated the relationship between information education of energy attitude and energy instructional strategy of science and technology teacher in junior high schools in Taiwan. With the questionnaires and statistic analysis of 618 teachers, we found the energy attitude of teachers is positive and they made good use of energy instructional strategies. The energy safe attitude of teachers whose age are 41-50 years old were better than those below 28 years old and 29-33. The energy safe attitude of teachers who worked for 16-25 years were better than those below 5 years and 6-15 years. And the saving energy attitude of teachers who taught in school above 49 classes were better than those below 12 classes. At the same time we found the infusing question strategy and cognitive-oriented strategy of teachers whose age were 41-50 years old made better use of than those age were 29-33 years old. The energy attitude could forecast the using situation of energy instructional strategy especially in infusing question strategy, cognitive-oriented strategy and total energy instructional strategies.

Given the importance of public disaster education, efforts have been made to integrate disaster risk reduction in the school system. Studies focusing on the effects of school disaster programs on actual preparedness and factors influencing preparedness behaviour, however, have been limited. The present study assesses the effectiveness of disaster risk education (DRR) in schools by comparing students in two junior high schools regarding action taken in earthquake preparedness and major factors of disaster preparedness such as risk knowledge, risk perception, critical awareness and attitude. Data on earthquake preparedness and other variables were collected from two junior high schools in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Participants were 124 students froma school adopting disaster risk reduction education and 115 students from a school not adopting it. Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) revealed that there was a significant difference in investigated variables among students although their level of actual preparedness was quite low. This study provided evidence that having a school adopting disaster risk reduction issues effectively enhanced knowledge, risk perception, critical awareness and attitude but limited in preparedness behaviour. Efforts should be taken by policy makers, teachers, and other stakeholders to develop public education in schools focusing on changes in preparedness behaviour.

This research paper was written against the background that the implementation of literacy activities at Payakumbuh City has not been running effectively and efficiently. Several technical and practical problems faced by school principals. The habit of reading 15 minutes at school has not been implemented well, because there is no literacy management model. For this reason, the authors have developed a creativity-based literacy management model as a solution to existing problems. This research and development design uses the Borg and Gall model which consists of ten stages which are constructed into four steps, i.e; preliminary studies, development, field testing and dissemination. The research subjects were the principal of junior high schools, Indonesian language teachers and library managers in Payakumbuh City. Data were collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and validation sheets. Quantitative data were processed using SPSS 20 and reduced qualitative data as suggested by Mattew and Huberman. The model validity obtained a mean of 4.53 with a very valid interpretation. The practicality level of the product was obtained by an average of 4.13 with 83.09%, which means that the literacy management model developed is practically used. Meanwhile, the effectiveness test reached 85.19 which means effective. Furthermore, the difference between the pre-test and post-test results obtained 32.13 points, this means that there is an increase in the principal's ability to manage management.

This study aims to develop a pattern of planning for educational facilities in the education management system in Jambi Province based on the projection of population growth in Jambi Province in 2023. The method used in this study is the quantitative method. The data collection method was carried out by literature study, and secondary data study from the Central Statistics Agency of Jambi Province. The results showed that the projected population growth in 2023 experienced different trends in each district and city. Population growth projections provide a real picture of school needs for junior high school & senior high school. This trend indicates a strong direction of management functionalization in planning aspects for local governments to meet the needs of educational facilities junior high school & senior high school which are relatively balanced with the population. Analysis of the results of the calculation of the number of school availability with the population in each region is relatively less balanced. This happens because one of the main factors, namely planning for school needs, is not based on information and projected data for calculating population growth in the area. The results showed that the areas that did not need to add junior high schools until 2023 were Kerinci, Merangin, Sarolangun, Batanghari, Muaro Jambi, East Tanjung Jabung, West Tanjung Jabung, Tebo, Bungo districts. On the other hand, the areas that require an additional number of junior high schools are the City of Jambi as many as 32 and the City of Sungai Penuh with 3 schools. For the senior high school, all districts in Jambi Province require additional schools. Therefore, it is suggested to the Government and Regional Governments to develop plans based on population growth projections so that there is an even distribution of educational facilities so that inequality between regions can be minimized..Key words: population growth projections, educational facilities, management, planning

Learning methods tend to vary according to the subject or theme at hand, but when it comes to subjects like mathematics or physics there are certain facts that cannot be challenged. There is a significant difference between simply memorising the facts and actually understanding them. Dr Masamitsu Ohyama, Shiga University, Japan, is passionate about the need for students and teachers to recognise the difference between memorising and understanding. According to a national survey on university students conducted by his team, many students do not understand the basic contents of physics taught in elementary and junior high schools and are weak in using logical thinking to utilise what they learned. His experience has shown that many students incorrectly believe that memorisation means understanding. Ohyama and his team are seeking to address the fact that there are people who cannot distinguish between memorisation and understanding. They are working on the development of teaching and education methods that foster scientific understanding and logical thinking. A key focus for Ohyama is astronomy and the spatial cognition that is required for scientific understanding of astronomy taught in elementary and junior high schools. Many students and schoolteachers are not good at thinking using spatial cognition and simply memorise astronomy without understanding its contents. The team is using cognitive psychology to determine the types of mistakes astronomy students make. This research involves identifying an educational method that is effective for people who are not especially good at astronomy. Ohyama and his team believe it is important to educate not only children and students but also teachers and university students at the same time to ensure that concepts can be correctly understood and taught. The researchers hope this work will positively impact science teaching and cognitive psychology.
