One of the way to increase rubber  productivity and its production, is by focusing to recommended tapping techniques. In East Tanjung Jabung Regency although the recommended rubber tapping technique (i.e. spiral tapping technique) had been socialized, but there were still many rubber farmers who done a non-spiral tapping techniques. This will certainly affect the amount of latex production and the rubber plants life duration. The low amount of rubber production will lead to a low number of sales, so it will have an impact on the low revenue of rubber farmers. The purpose of this study was to find out the impact of the application of spiral tapping techniques on rubber crops toward farmer. The results showed that simultaneously the independent variables had a Significant effect on the Farmer revenues. Partially, rubber production and rubber prices had showed  a significant   effect on farmer’s revenues, while the age of crops and tapping techniques, had no significant   effect on the farmer’s revenues. Although the variables of tapping techniques did not significantly effect to the farmer revenue but it gave  the higher revenue than the other tapping techniques.

Content published in social media (SM) can be motivating. It can induce action, stimulate demand, and shape opinions. On the other hand, it can demotivate, cause helplessness, or overwhelm with information. Still, the impact of SM is not always the same. The paper aims to analyse the relations between sex, personality, and the way social media is used and motivation to take specific actions. The conclusions are founded on a survey (n = 462). The data were analysed with statistical methods. The study revealed that the use of SM has a significant impact on the motivation to act. Browsing through descriptions and photographs of various achievements posted by others in SM increased the intrinsic motivation of the respondents. Positive comments and emojis had a similar effect. Moreover, women and extraverts noted a significantly greater impact of SM on their intrinsic motivation concerning health and beauty effort, travel, hobby, and public expression of opinions than men and introverts. The results can be useful to recruiters. Extravert women that are open to cooperation, thorough, and well-organised are more likely to be active in SM.

Abstract. Damiri N, Rofiqi R, Mulawarnam, Rahim SE, Febyanti TP. 2021. Effect of three composts with active ingredients of Pseudomonas fluorescens on the development of white root disease and production of rubber plants. Biodiversitas 22: 3237-3242. White root disease (WRD) caused by Rigidoporus lignosus is a very dangerous disease and a scourge for rubber farmers because it can result in decreased production and kill rubber plants. This research was conducted to observe the impact of compost enriched with the biological agent Pseudomonas fluorescens on the development of white root disease and production in rubber plants. The results showed that the application of compost with active ingredient of P. fluorescens isolates A and B reduced the severity of white root disease in plants with mild, moderate and severe infections, 34.12%, 29.31% and 57.21% respectively. Application of compost with P. fluorescens isolates A and B, either singly or in combination, can increase latex production. The treatment of giving compost enriched with P. fluorescens isolates AR and ABR on rubber plants infected with mild WRD resulted in the highest latex production of 406 gm and 402.74 gm per plant, respectively. These two treatments did not differ from each other but were significantly different from the other treatments and controls.

Chapter 5 considers the impact of the death of two of Gregory’s siblings, Basil and Macrina, on his ascetical theology. It begins with an analysis of the much-disputed question of the restoration of human genitalia in Gregory’s account of the general resurrection. The author argues that there are two rival anthropologies at play (one based on Genesis 1:27a–b, the other on Genesis 2), which offer different perspectives on the eschatological finality of sexual differentiation. Looking at Gregory’s writings diachronically reveals why these two anthropologies came into contact with each other during the middle phase of his literary career and why they do not reach a point of resolution or synthesis in his theorization on the restoration of human genitalia. These discussions of embodied difference prepare the way for a consideration of their spiritual and moral associations. By drawing attention to the neglected figure of Naucratius, one of Gregory’s brothers, who “overcame” his “manhood” to make advancements in the moral life, the author argues that male virility, for Gregory, needs to be renounced in the moral life just as much as female passion. Both male and female characteristics, which are deeply embedded in the fallen state of humanity, need to be chastened and transformed through the bodily disciplines of the ascetic life.

Marketing is a significant point in agriculture. Without marketing, products that have been resulted may be difficult to sale. Marketing is not just a method to sell products as many as possible for benefits, but it is also the way to keep the existence of produced products on the market. The company also needs to communicate the product and the company itself to the customers, especially in the situation of fierce competition. One of the marketing successes is influenced by the promotions. Many products are not successful in the market because of the promotions failure although in terms of quality are well-established if compared with the other products (simamora, 2003: 284). Promotion program that currently favored by business is by using social media as a way to promote their products especially in companies with low budget. One of companies that uses social media to promote the products is Royal Sandwich. Royal Sandwich is one of the UKM (small and medium enterprises) in the field of convenience food. The aims of this study are: 1) Recognizing various promotion conducted by the Royal Sandwich. 2) Analyzing the effectiveness of promotion media of the fried sandwich product by Royal Sandwich based on the impact of communication. 3) Analyzing the effectiveness of promotion media of the fried sandwich product by Royal Sandwich based on the impact of sale.

Jargon is the specialised vocabulary of any science: it allows the creation of new terms to define concepts and it removes ambiguity from scientific communication. Yet, it may also hinder understanding for a broader audience. Given that the Journal of Limnology has jargon in its title, we here investigate the impact of the term ‘limnology’ on the way limnologists work, publish their research, and attract the interest of other scientists. We do so by comparing scientometric features of papers published from 1965 to 2020 that used the term ‘limnology’ against papers on similar topics but that used the term ‘lake ecology’ or ‘hydrobiology’, and to the marine counterpart of papers that used the term ‘oceanography’. We found that papers using the term limnology score worse than those of the other topics in terms of both publication output and scientific impact. Limnologists may need to use other terms in addition to ‘limnology’ to reach a broader scientific audience.

The aim of this paper is to investigate the relationship between the board diversity and the investments in innovation in a sample of companies listed on the Italian Stock Exchange (named Borsa Italiana) and operating in the consumer goods and in the consumer services industry. This sample covers the period from 2006 to 2010 and contains 345 observations. Drawing on the literature review, we pinpointed six hypotheses related to the impact on the investments in innovation of the following independent variables: 1. presence of outside directors; 2. average number of the other positions held by the members of the board; 3. minority shareholder representatives on the board; 4. presence of women on the board of directors; 5. number of committees; 6. frequency of board meetings. Furthermore, on the basis of the previous empirical studies, to measure the investments in innovation (the dependent variable), we chose these accounting ratios: total intangible assets divided by total assets and total R&D costs divided by total sales. From the methodology standpoint, we used both the bivariate statistic (i.e. Pearson Correlations and Anova one way) and the multivariate one (i.e. OLS regression analysis with robust standard errors calculated by the Newey-West, HAC method). Our findings confirm the previous studies and show that, also for the Italian listed companies operating in the industries mentioned earlier, the outsiders as well as the frequency of meetings held by the Strategy Committee assume a relevant role in supporting the investments in innovation. Conversely, the other independent variables concerning board diversity (i.e. women, minority shareholder representatives etc.) are not statistically significant and, as a result, do not influence the investments in innovation.

This article explores the way Basque language cinema is adapting to streaming platforms, focusing on the case of the three Basque language films that have made it to Netflix: Loreak (2014), Handia (2017) and Errementari (2018). Firstly, it explains Netflix particularities and its emphasis on diversity, among other reasons that could explain the platform’s interest in these particular films. Secondly, it describes the way these aforementioned films have landed on Netflix and the impact this exhibition has had. I base my research on in-depth interviews with directors Jon Garaño and Paul Urkijo as well as producer Xabi Berzosa to know the insights of the process. More broadly, the article discusses the impact that becoming available on Netflix and other SVOD platforms might have for Basque cinema, especially when it comes to production and transnational distribution. On the other hand, I will also point at the challenges that this new landscape poses for the Basque audiovisual industry, and non-hegemonic languages in general. The streaming revolution, of which Netflix is currently the epitome, is changing the production, distribution, exhibition and consumption model globally, and policy makers and Basque institutions should take this transformation seriously. Loreak, Handia and Errementari should not just become happy exceptions.

This paper summarizes the results of a study that explains the impact of minimarkets existence on the sales turnover of traditional shops in Ciledug Subdistrict, Cirebon Regency in 2017, West Java, Indonesia. Through a statistical method - called the difference test - the existence of minimarkets in Ciledug Subdistrict has significantly reduced the sales turnover and reduced the number of buyers of the traditional shops, on the other hand the number of working hours of traditional shops has increased. This study also uses the regression model to explain the effect of the number of buyers, traditional shops’ working hours, and the distance between traditional shops to the nearest minimarkets on the sales turnover of traditional shops. This study shows that all independent variables simultaneously significant affected on the sales turnover of traditional shops. Partially, the number of buyers and the distances between traditional shops to the nearest minimarkets significantly influence the sales turnover of traditional shops, but the working hours of the traditional shops does not has a significant effect.
