The blood oxygen level is a measure of amount of oxygen circulation in the blood. The blood oxygen level test also known as ‘blood gas analysis’ estimates the proper working of the lungs and it performs different measurements. Pulse oximeter, a noninvasive device that helps to detect or estimate the level of carbon dioxide and oxygen saturation in the blood. Normal pulse oximeter reading has a range of 95 to 100 percent. 200 individuals were selected and asked about the fear of cats and their peripheral oxygen saturation was estimated using pulse oximeter device. The results calculated from M Stat software and student’s t-test revealed that there is a significant impact of cat phobia on peripheral oxygen saturation. The calculated p-value was significant depicting the correlation between blood oxygen level and ailurophobia.

The objective of present study was the assessment of role played by blood oxygen level in skin type. The basic purpose of my project was to investigate relation between blood oxygen level and skin texture. Blood oxygen level can also be termed as Peripheral oxygen saturation (SpO2 ) or Oxygen Saturation Level. Peripheral Oxygen saturation is defined as the proportion of oxygen-concentrated hemoglobin corresponds to the total hemoglobin (concentrated + non-concentrated) in the blood. The human body needs and maintains a very proportionate and peculiar balance of oxygen in the blood. 95–100 percent is considered as normal blood oxygen levels in humans Hypoxemia is a condition which occurs when blood oxygen level becomes less than 90 percent. Skin type also known as skin texture, refers to the surface of skin which is either regular or irregular. There are many significant types of skin. Dry skin texture appears to be rough but smooth. Oily skin type is shiny. Normal skin type is healthy and fresh skin and it appears to be very consistent. It was found from results that blood oxygen level plays an important role in determining the skin texture of body. It has become clear that when need of tissues is fulfilled by oxygen, there will be no pigmentation and skin will be fresh, young and healthy.

Blood oxygen saturation meter is a tool used to monitor the state of oxygen saturation in the blood and also the patient's heart rate (BPM) and to assist in the physical assessment of the patient without going through blood gas analysis. Oxygen saturation measuring devices usually use the difference in the wavelengths of red and infrared led light that will be captured by the photodiode. The purpose of this research is to make a pulse oximeter equipped with a display of SPO2, BPM values and an additional SP02 signal. The design of this measuring instrument uses the MAX30100 sensor, the minimum system circuit of Arduino ATmega328p and OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode). Data from the MAX30100 sensor enters the I2C pin on the minimum Arduino system, then the microcontroller is processed to produce the percentage of SPO2 value, BPM value, and SPO2 signal which is then displayed on the OLED. The test is done by comparing the module with standard measuring instruments which produces the largest % error of 0.81% for Spo2 and 0.87% for BPM. The error presentation is obtained from factor measurements, if there is finger movement it will cause a large error. From the results obtained, the tool is still feasible to use because in the "Guidelines for Testing and Calibrating Medical Devices" Ministry of Health RI 2001, the maximum limit in the pulse oximeter error tolerance is for Spo2 1% and BPM 5%.

Surfactant deficiency, poor development of the lung structure and fibrosis as a result of inflammation are thought to play an important role in the development of respiratory distress syndrome in premature calves. Nebulised steroid (fluticasone), bronchodilator (salbutamol) and diuretics (furosemide) can be used in combination alongside standard treatment procedures for premature calves, and might improve viability as observed in infants, foals and horses with pulmonary disorders. Twenty-five premature calves with respiratory distress syndrome were used in this study. Oxygen and supportive treatment were administered to all groups. The first group was used as a control group (Group 1). The nebulised drug combinations were as follows: Group 2: fluticasone + salbutamol, Group 3: salbutamol + furosemide, Group 4: fluticasone + furosemide and Group 5: fluticasone + salbutamol + furosemide. During the 72-h time period of the study, fluticasone (15 µg/kg/12 h), salbutamol (0.025 mg/kg/6 h) and furosemide (1 mg/kg/12h) were applied for 5 min. Arterial blood samples were collected from the auricular artery at 0 h and at 1, 24, 48 and 72 h for blood gas analysis. Significant (P < 0.05) increases in arterial partial oxygen, oxygen saturation and peripheral oxygen saturation and decreases in arterial partial carbon dioxide, lactate and respiration rate were observed in all the nebulised treatment groups, while a statistical difference was observed only for arterial partial carbon dioxide in control group. When comparing the treated groups with the control, it may be concluded that nebulised drugs are highly effective in the therapy of premature calves with respiratory distress syndrome, while the different nebulised groups exhibited similar efficacies.

The coronavirus has the greatest effect on the lungs. That is why the lungs of patients with COVID-19 need constant medical monitoring. The paper considers the biomedical cyber-physical system for round-the-clock monitoring of lung functions in patients with COVID-19, which allows physicians to continuously monitor the main organ of patients affected by the coronavirus - the lungs. It is designed to monitor the patient's condition around the clock and regardless of the patient's location. Therefore, the created means allow the doctor to see the level of oxygen in the patient's blood continuously at a distance (say, from his office). Key words: hypoxia, COVID-19, pulse oximeter, blood oxygen level, mobile application, remote patients monitoring.

Background & Method: This study was carried out at Index Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Indore, when baby come to scnu, SPO2 is measured by pulse oximeter (ChoiceMMed MD300C2.). Fit the pulse oximeter on the foot, the light part of the sensor should be placed over soft tissue supported by a bony area. If the foot is cold or blue the pulse oximeter can be attached at the wrist. If the signal is poor re-position the probe. In a resuscitation situation the pulse oximeter should be attached to the right arm to read pre-ductal saturations. Result: In this study, 28.46% newborns oxygen saturation was less than 85% and 71.53% newborns oxygen saturation was more than 85%. In this study, 67.81% newborns having oxygen saturation less than 85% and 1.9% newborns having oxygen saturation more than 85% died during first 48 hrs of admission. Chi square test was applied and p value was <0.05 and was significant. Conclusion: Most of neonatal transports are self transport without any pre-treatment stabilization or care during transport These new born thus transported can become cold, blue and hypoglycaemic. This can have serious clinical implications. As it is seen in this study that all those babies who were given proper care during transportation were less affected & more over survival was also better among these babies. Abstract Reflective Photoplethysmography (PPG) sensors are less obtrusive than transmissive sensors, but they present patient-dependent variations in the so-called “Ratio of Modulation” (R). Thus, the conventionally employed calibration curves for determining peripheral oxygen saturation ( SpO2) may report inaccurate values. In this paper, we study the possibility of overcoming these limitations through Machine Learning (ML). For that, we show the results of applying several algorithms and feature combinations to PPG data from a human hypoxia study. The study was performed on ten healthy subjects. Their target oxygen saturation was reduced in five steps from 98- 100% to 70-77% through an oral mask. Blood Gas Analysis (BGA) was performed five times for each saturation level to measure the arterial oxygen saturation. PPG data were acquired from a reflective pulse oximeter placed in the subjects’ ear canals. PPG signals were pre-processed, and several features in the frequency and temporal domain were calculated. For the ML algorithms’ input, we explored different combinations of the features. We trained and validated the algorithms with the data from seven patients, and we tested them on three. Finally, we performed leaveone- out cross-validation to ensure the universality of the methods. The results show a good agreement of the predictions with the BGA values for Linear Regression, k- Nearest Neighbors, Stochastic Gradient Descent, and Neural Network for all input feature combinations with an average RMSE in the range of 3%. However, the performance of the Linear Regression was not beaten by the Neural Network, even for overfitting with 2000 hidden layers. The combination of R calculated with a Fast-Fourier Transform and ACRMS.red/ACRMS.irsignificantly improved the results, reducing the RMSE by 25%. This work demonstrates that a straight-forward Linear Regression is capable of determining SpO2with reflective PPG independently of the subject if the ratio ACRMS.red/ACRMS.ir is considered simultaneously with the Ratio of Modulation.
