Reading is one of the important skills that the students have to master. However, many students have difficulties in comprehending the reading text. To solve this condition, the researcher used schema activation strategy to help students understand reading comprehension. The purpose of this research was to investigate whether the use of schema activation strategy is effective or not in teaching reading comprehension at the second-grade students of MTs Tarbiyatul Mustafid in academic year 2017/2018. This study was quasi-experimental design using two classes were VIII B class was taken as an experimental class, and VII-A was taken as control class. The population of this research involved 60 students from the second grade in MTs Tarbiyatul Mustafid Batu Simpang. By using purposive sampling, the researcher took the students as a sample. In collecting the data, this study used pre-test, treatment, and post-test as the data collection procedure then followed by analyzing the data by using the t-test formula. Then the result of statistical analysis of t-test in this research was 2.85. It was higher than critical values for t- table in the degree of freedom (df) of 58 is 2.021(0.05%) and 2.704(0.01%). The researcher concludes that mean score before and after teaching by using schema activation strategy has a difference. It means the alternative hypothesis (ha) was accepted. The use of schema activation strategy in teaching reading comprehension at the second-grade students of MTs Tarbiyatul Mustafid Batu Rimpang is effective.

This research was aimed to find out the effect of Collaborative Learning Approach towards students’ reading comprehension at MA Darunnajah Al-Falah Telagawaru in academic year 2018/2019. This research was pre experimental research with one group pre-test and post-test design. The sample was taken from all population of the second grade students of MA Darunnajah Al-Falah Telagawaru which consisted of 23 students. The students were treated by using Collaborative Learning Approach. The instrument of collecting the data used reading test that consisted of 25 items in form multiple choice. The result of technique of data analysis showed that the value of sig two tailed was 0.000. It meant that, the value of t-test was lower than the significance level (0.000 < 0.05), indicated that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis was rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that Collaborative Learning Approach is an appropriate and effective approach for teaching reading because, it has a significant effect towards students’ reading comprehension at MA Darunnajah Al-Falah Telagawaru in Academic Year 2018/2019.

This research is aimed at finding out whether or not Running Dictation technique effective towards students’ reading comprehension at the second grade students of SMPN 4 Batukliang Utara in academic year 2018/2019. The research was quasi experimental design with non-equivalent control group design. The instrument used was multiple choice test (narrative text) which consisted of 25 questions and to collect the data used for pre-test and post-test. The population of the study was the second grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Batukliang Utara, which consisted of two classes with the total number of the students were 40 students. The researcher taken the sample by using total population sampling technique. The data was analysis using statistical formula of t-test. The statistical of the data gathered has been already counted. In this term, the result of the value, it is needed consult t-table by using N-1 as the degree freedom (df). The df is N-1 = 20-1= 19, having known the value of df, the researcher needed to cheeked up the t-table of df19. Theresearcher found that the value t-table was 2.093 for confidence level of 0.05 (95%) and the value t-test was 2.168. t-test was higher than t-table (2.168 > 2.093). In which t-test value was significant. Therefore, it can be concluded that Running Dictation technique is effective towards students’ reading comprehension at the second grade students of SMPN 4 Batukliang Utara in academic year 2018/2019.

The population in this research was the second grade students of MA Al-Wasilah Lemo. The sample was consisted of 30 students which were taken by total sampling technique. There were 15 students in class Agama II 1 as experimental class and 15 students in Agama I as controlled class. This research was quasi experimental with the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The data was analyzed statistically after the result of the test was gained. The research findings showed that the twelve grades students of MA Al-Wasilah Lemo obtained score on pre-test with the mean score 44.00 which classified as poor. After giving treatment the students obtained improvement, they gained score with the mean score 65.00 as fair classification. The result of the data analysis indicated that there was a significant improvement in the students reading analytical exposition text after being taught using fix-up strategy. It was proved by the result of the statistical analysis of the level significance 0.05 with degree of freedom (df) 14 indicated t-test values of the students’ reading analytical exposition text (5.209) was higher than t-table value (2.145). Based on the result of analysis, the researcher concludes that fix-up strategy was effective to improve students in reading comprehension at the twelve grade of MA Al-wasilah Lemo.

The students’ reading comprehension of SMA Negeri 2 Tumijajar is still low especially in reading personal recount text. To solve the problem, the researcher applied Buzz Group. The objective of this research is to know whether there is a significant influence of using buzz group towards students’ reading comprehension on personal recount text at the eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 2 Tumijajar in the academic 2018/2019. The research methodology was quasi experimental design. In this research, the population was the eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 2 Tumijajar. The sample of this research was two classes consisting of 33 students for experimental class and 33 students for control class. In the experimental class, the researcher used buzz group and in the control class the teacher used think pair share. The treatments were held in 3 meetings in which 2 x 45 minutes for each class. In collecting data, the researcher used instrument in the form of multiple choice questions which had been tried out prior to the treatments. The instrument was given in pre-test and post-test. The researcher analyzed the data using SPSS to compute independent sample t-test. From the data analysis computed by SPSS, it was obtained that Sig. = 0.002 and α = 0.05. It means Ha is accepted because Sig. < α = 0.002 < 0.05. Therefore, there is a significant influence of using buzz group towards students’ reading comprehension on personal recount text at the eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 2 Tumijajar in the academic year 2018/2019.
