In this research, descriptive research approach is used because it is aimed to determine the problems of education in terms of teachers' perspective. The study group of the study consisted of 101 teachers, of whom 61 were female and 40 were male, working in Unye district of Ordu province in the academic year of 2018-2019. The study group was determined by means of easy-to-reach sampling from purposeful sampling methods. In the study, open-ended questions were used as data collection tools. Qualitative data collected in this study were analyzed by inductive content analysis method. In addition, while analyzing the data obtained and reporting the results, quantification (digitization) was made. The findings were discussed as teachers, schools, students, parents and management. According to the results of the research, teachers experienced many problems due to the teacher, school, student, parent and management, some of these problems were deeply rooted, some were temporary or local. It is understood that some problems that cannot be solved cause problems in time and cause problems to become chronic. As a result, the problems that disrupt the educational process should be solved by the authorities with solution-oriented approaches.

This study aims to reveal the perceptions of preservice music teachers on the concepts of “Distance Education, Home, Graduation, University and Future” through metaphors. The study group of the research consists of 80 preservice music teachers studying the final year of their undergraduate education at the Department of Music Education in Gazi University, Kastamonu University, Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, Uludağ University, Van Yüzüncüyıl University, Necmettin Erbakan University and Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University as of 2020-2021 academic year. Data of the research were collected by participants completing the sentence “The concept reminds me of….because….”. Collected data were analyzed with content analysis method. Participants developed 133 different metaphors; 26 related to distance education, 19 to home, 27 to graduation, 29 to university, and 32 to the concept of the future. While the metaphors they developed on the concept of distance education reflect a negative view, those about home and graduation are considered to be relatively positive. The metaphors developed on the concept of university express a longing rather than representing either a positive or a negative view. Future, on the other hand, was a concept on which preservice music teachers came up with the highest number of metaphors and all found ambiguous. Distribution of the metaphors developed by the participants and the sample sentences selected from the opinions are demonstrated under the relevant headings.

The purpose of this study was to reveal beliefs of prospective teachers about “science” and “science history”. The qualitative research approach was employed in the study. The study group consisted of 150 prospective teachers. A form developed by the researcher was used for data collection. The form consisted of open-ended questions. The data was analyzed using the content analysis method. As a result of the study, it was found that the prospective teachers explained science and science history mostly with the procedural understanding dimension. It was also found that the prospective teachers attributed the low number of female scientists mostly to socio-cultural factors, and success in science to cognitive factors. Lastly, the prospective teachers had positive beliefs about the contribution of science history to cognitive and affective domains, and believed that enriching courses with science history could be done by adopting a teacher-centered approach which involves the teacher’s explaining lives, works, or inventions of various scientists. It is recommended that conceptual, procedural, and contextual dimensions of science are addressed in courses related to science history, and prospective teachers should be informed about how to use science history in their classes.

Place value concept that learns especially in primary school ages is also the basis of many issues students will encounter throughout their learning lives. This research aims to developmentally determine understanding of the place value concept in early childhood. The model of research is a case study from qualitative research methods. The study group consists of 171 children (84 at the age of 7 and 87 at the age of 8) who study in three different public schools in January, in the 2020-2021 academic year in Ankara, Turkey, selected by criteria sampling from purposeful sampling methods. As a data collection tool, “place value worksheets” consisting of 25 questions developed by researchers were used. Data was collected online by classroom teachers through “EBA”. The content analysis method was used in the analysis of the data. Looking at the research results, it was observed that children gave meaning to the place value concept in seven categories. It was seen that seven years olds reached the lowest correct answer rate in the code "the ability to express the number whose resolution is given in terms of ones" in the category of "the ability to resolve". It was concluded that "the ability to write numbers between two numbers" code in "the ability to compare" category has the lowest correct response rate for eight years old children. Lower levels of seven years old student's understanding of the place value concept suggest that students' readiness levels are not sufficient at this age.

This study has been designed to examine pre-service teachers' metaphorical perceptions of physical education and sports. In this study, phenomenology, one of the qualitative research designs, was used. The study group consists of 60 pre-service teachers studying at the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching at Şırnak University during the 2020-2021 academic year. Research data were obtained from the statements of students who were asked to complete the sentence "Physical Education and sports are like … for me because ... ". Research data were analysed using the content analysis method. The analysis of the data consists of stages including classification, elimination, category development, validity and reliability tests, and interpretation of the metaphors obtained in the study, respectively. Six categories were created in this study in which the metaphorical perceptions of pre-service teachers of the concept of physical education and sports were examined. Categories created for physical education and sports were healthy/quality life, life/lifestyle, freedom/entertainment, indispensable/sine qua non, source of peace/love, and development. This study aimed at evaluating the EFL textbook ` Get Ready 1&2` used in the fourth grade of primary school from the perspectives of male and female teachers in Arar city in Saudi Arabia. The textbook was published by Macmillan, and it was specially developed for use within Saudi Arabia’s cultural environment and for both boys’ and girls’ schools. The Ministry of Education has started using this textbook in schools in the current academic year 2013/2014. This study will focus on teachers’ perspectives, and it will be a macro evaluation. The researcher designed a mixed method study by gathering both quantitative and qualitative data. The researcher distributed a close-ended questionnaire consisted of 55 items and nine categories for 30 teachers to gather quantitative data and carried out an interview with five male teachers to gather qualitative data. The study evaluated the textbook in terms of the layout and design, objectives, skills, supplementary materials, topics and content, cultural values, structure and vocabulary, activities and tasks, and teachers’ manual. In general, the findings of the study revealed that teachers were satisfied about the textbook in all of the nine categories with some demerits. The cultural values category got the highest mean score of 4.54 out of 5.00 whereas the skills category got the lowest mean score of 3.47 out of 5.00.
