Population agglomeration and real estate development encroach on public green spaces, threatening human settlement equity and perceptual experience. Perceived greenery is a vital interface for residents to interact with the urban eco-environment. Nevertheless, the economic premiums and spatial scale of such greenery have not been fully studied because a comprehensive quantitative framework is difficult to obtain. Here, taking advantage of big geodata and deep learning to quantify public perceived greenery, we integrate a multiscale GWR (MGWR) and a hedonic price model (HPM) and propose an analytic framework to explore the premium of perceived greenery and its spatial pattern at the neighborhood scale. Our empirical study in Beijing demonstrated that (1) MGWR-based HPM can lead to good performance and increase understanding of the spatial premium effect of perceived greenery; (2) for every 1% increase in neighborhood-level perceived greenery, economic premiums increase by 4.1% (115,862 RMB) on average; and (3) the premium of perceived greenery is spatially imbalanced and linearly decreases with location, which is caused by Beijing’s monocentric development pattern. Our framework provides analytical tools for measuring and mapping the capitalization of perceived greenery. Furthermore, the empirical results can provide positive implications for establishing equitable housing policies and livable neighborhoods.

Since the impoundment of the Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR) in June 2003, the fluctuation of the reservoir water level coupled with rainfall has resulted in more than 2500 landslides in this region. Among these instability problems, most colluvial landslides exhibit slow-moving patterns and pose a significant threat to local people and channel navigation. Advanced monitoring techniques are therefore implemented to investigate landslide deformation and provide insights for the subsequent countermeasures. In this study, the development pattern of a large colluvial landslide, locally named the Ganjingzi landslide, is analyzed on the basis of long-term monitoring. To understand the kinematic characteristics of the landslide, an integrated analysis based on real-time and multi-source monitoring, including the global navigation satellite system (GNSS), crackmeters, inclinometers, and piezometers, was conducted. The results indicate that the Ganjingzi landslide exhibits a time-variable response to the reservoir water fluctuation and rainfall. According to the supplement of community-based monitoring, the evolution of the landslide consists of three stages, namely the stable stage before reservoir impoundment, the initial movement stage of retrogressive failure, and the shallow movement stage with stepwise acceleration. The latter two stages are sensitive to the drawdown of reservoir water level and rainfall infiltration, respectively. All of the monitoring approaches used in this study are significant for understanding the time-variable pattern of colluvial landslides and are essential for landslide mechanism analysis and early warning for risk mitigation.

The elements which determine a peripheral area’s level of tourist attractiveness, such as tourist infrastructure and tourist values, should be developed in urban–rural communes in peripheral areas, where tourism may be one of the forces capable of stimulating sustainable development. This study covered urban–rural communes of the province of Warmia and Mazury in Poland. Urban–rural communes are specific areas where urban–rural linkages are often important. The research was carried out in accordance with Hellwig’s taxonomic development pattern method. The study found no complementary relationship between tourism values and tourism infrastructure with regards to creating tourism attractiveness. Tourism attractiveness was found to be more affected by tourism infrastructure. However, in units with larger urban centers, tourist values were found to significantly contribute to tourist attractiveness. The presented results provide a good basis for further research on the impact of global trends on regional development. At the same time, the analyzed framework provides guidance for ensuring the development of local tourism, and the study’s suggested priorities and measures could lead to the development of tourism in peripheral regions, which should in turn attract new investments, create new jobs, and thus develop the economy and the welfare of the population.

This study investigated the technological developments in the shale petroleum industry by analyzing patent data using a network of technological indices. The technological developments were promoted by the beginning of the shale industry, and after the first five years, it showed a more complex development pattern with the convergence of critical technologies. This paper described progress in the shale petroleum technologies as changes in relatedness networks of technological components. The relatedness represents degree of convergence between technological components, and betweenness centrality of network represents priority of technological components. In the results, the progress of the critical technologies such as directional drilling, increasing permeability, and smart systems, were actively carried out from 2012 to 2016. Especially, unconverged technology of increasing permeability and the converged technology of directional drilling and smart system has been intensively developed. Some technological components of the critical technologies are more significant in the form of converged technology.

Abstract The study proposes an analytical method for calculating the productivity of horizontal wells in a line-drive development pattern in fields with oil rims. The paper presents an analysis of existing techniques and compares them with the results of detailed numerical experiments. It also shows the limited applicability of existing techniques. On the basis of the obtained solution of a single-phase flow equation for a line-drive pattern of horizontal wells, an analytical formula was obtained which more accurately describes the productivity of wells beyond the limits of applicability of existing methods. The resulting formula is in good agreement with the results of a detailed numerical experiment.
