In order to eliminate the voltage imbalance among battery cells when they are connected in series, the paper proposes a double-layer E-structure (DLE) equalizer based on bidirectional buck–boost converters, which has the advantage of quick equalization speed and can be applied to arbitrary number batteries. Furthermore, a novel two-stage equalization control strategy is proposed for the DLE equalizer to decrease maximum voltage gap between the maximum and minimum voltage cells. The paper analyses the working principle of proposed equalizer in detail and describes the detailed design of the control strategy and implement process. Simulation and experiment results show that the proposed equalizer can improve equalization performance of battery cells compared with adjacent cell-to-cell (AC2C) equalizer.

A number of multi-phase motors can be series-connected and driven by a single inverter via the appropriate phase transformation rules, and all motors in series-connected can be independently controlled . In this paper, the working principle of two six-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor series-connected system is proposed, the vector control strategy of id=0 and the carrier-wave modulation PWM technology are adopted to make the decoupled running of the two motors. Simulation of the two motors series system is obtained based on Matlab/simulink. The feasibility of the series system is proved by analysis the independently operating of one motor when the speed of the other motor is changed.

This paper proposes an equalizer for serially connected Lithium-ion battery cells. The battery cell with the lowest state of charge (SOC) is charged by the equalizer during the process of charging and discharging, and the balancing current is constant and controllable. Three unbalanced lithium-ion battery cells in series are selected as the experimental object by this paper. The discharging current under a certain UDDS and 20A charging current are used to complete respectively one time balancing experiment of discharging and charging to the three lithium-ion battery cells. The validity of the balancing strategy is confirmed in this paper according to the experimental results.

Cell inconsistency can lead to poor performance and safety hazards. Therefore, cell equalizer is essentially required to prevent the series-connected cells from overcharging, undercharging, and overdischarging. Among current equalization schemes, passive equalizer has a continuously wasting energy with low equalization efficiency, and active equalizer has high cost with complex circuit structure. In this study, a novel composite equalizer based on an additional cell with low complexity is presented. This method combines a passive equalizer and an active equalizer. Firstly, the configuration and circuit of our proposed composite equalizer are introduced, and the equalization principle is analyzed. On this basis, the control strategy and algorithm of the composite equalizer are further proposed. Finally, the composite equalizer is verified through simulation and experiment in various cases. The study results show that this method improves both the consistency level and the available capacity of the battery pack. Moreover, our proposed equalizer can overcome the shortcomings of commonly used equalizer and combining the advantages of different equalizer to maximize the equalization efficiency with a simpler equalizer structure.

This article proposes a topology of the secondary reconfigurable inverter and the corresponding fault-tolerant control strategy. When the secondary reconfigurable inverter is operating normally, its topology structure is the TPSS circuit. When the power semiconductor devices in the inverter are faulty, the inverter circuit needs to be reconfigured. After removing the faulty power semiconductor devices, the remaining power semiconductor devices and the DC side powers are reconstructed as the TPFS structure to keep the system running normally. This article also proposes a switch-pulse-resetting algorithm. This paper adopts the control strategy connecting the constant-voltage, constant-frequency control method with the switch pulse resetting algorithm. It need not change the control algorithm when the proposed reconfigurable inverter is transformed from the normal running state into the faulty running state. The inverter dependability is greatly improved. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed second reconfigurable inverter topology and control strategy are verified by simulation and experiment.

This paper put forward a kind of vehicle anti-collision warning system and put the emphasis on the research of active control. It introduced the function and composition of the system and expounded its working principle. First the safety distance model was studied based on the vehicle kinetic theory. This model contained longitudinal and lateral safety distance model. And the longitudinal safety distance model can be further divided into Safety Critical distance, Lock-in Target distance, Danger Critical distance and Limited Critical distance. Then the dangerous targets were identified and classified based on safety distance model .Finally, according to different targets, the corresponding evasion control strategy and the control flow chart were established.

The maximum-torque-per-ampere (MTPA) scheme is widely used in the interior permanent magnet synchronous machine (IPMSM) drive system to reduce copper losses. However, MTPA trajectory is complicated to solve analytically. In order to realize online MTPA trajectory tracking, this paper proposes a novel torque control strategy. The torque control is designed to be closed form. Considering the machine reluctance torque as the torque feedback, when this is compared with the torque reference, then the excitation torque reference can be obtained. Since the excitation torque is proportional to the q-axis current, the q-axis current reference can be fed by the excitation torque reference through a proportional regulator. Once the q-axis current reference is given, the d-axis current reference can be calculated based on the per-unit model, which aims to simplify the calculation and make the control strategy independent of machine parameters. In this paper, the stability of the control system is demonstrated. Meanwhile, simulation and experiment results show this torque control strategy can realize MTPA trajectory tracking online and have success in transients.

A novel method of disturbance observer-based integral backstepping control is proposed for the two-tank liquid level system with external disturbances. The problem of external disturbances can be settled in this paper. Firstly, the mathematical model of the two-tank liquid level system is established based on fluid mechanics and principle of mass conservation. Secondly, an integral backstepping control strategy is designed in order to ensure liquid level tracking performance by making the tracking errors converge to zero in finite time. Thirdly, a disturbance observer is designed for the two-tank liquid level system with external disturbances. Finally, the validity of the proposed method is verified by simulation and experiment. By doing so, the simulation and experimental results prove that the scheme of disturbance observer-based integral backstepping control strategy can suppress external disturbances more effective than the disturbance observer-based sliding mode control method and has better dynamic and steady performance of the two-tank liquid level system.

A novel single-phase nine-level boost inverter is proposed in this paper. The proposed inverter has an output voltage which is higher than the input voltage by switching capacitors in series and in parallel. The maximum output voltage of the proposed inverter is determined by using the boost converter circuit, which has been integrated into the circuit. The proposed topology is able to invert the multilevel voltage with the high step-up output voltage, simple structure and fewer power switches. In this paper, the circuit configuration, the operating principle, and the output voltage expression have been derived. The proposed converter has been verified by simulation and experiment with the help of PSIM software and a laboratory prototype. The experimental results match the theoretical calculation and the simulation results.
