Owing to the convenience, reliability and contact-free feature of Mobile payment (M-payment), it has been diffusely adopted in China during the COVID-19 pandemic to reduce the direct and indirect contacts in transactions, allowing social distancing to be maintained and facilitating stabilization of the social economy. This paper aims to comprehensively investigate the technological and mental factors affecting users’ adoption intentions of M-payment under the COVID-19 pandemic, to expand the domain of technology adoption under the emergency situation. This study integrated Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) with perceived benefits from Mental Accounting Theory (MAT), and two additional variables (perceived security and trust) to investigate 739 smartphone users’ adoption intentions of M-payment during the COVID-19 pandemic in China. The empirical results showed that users’ technological and mental perceptions conjointly influence their adoption intentions of M-payment during the COVID-19 pandemic, wherein perceived benefits are significantly determined by social influence and trust, corresponding with the situation of pandemic. This study initially integrated UTAUT with MAT to develop the theoretical framework for investigating users’ adoption intentions. Meanwhile, this study originally investigated the antecedents of M-payment adoption under the pandemic situation and indicated that users’ perceptions will be positively influenced when technology’s specific characteristics can benefit a particular situation.

The objective of this research is to analyze the antecedents of Behavioral Intention to use mobile payment platform. Specifically, the researchers expanded on UTAUT2 (Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology) by incorporating Perceived Security and Trust to better explain the endogenous variable. The sample of this study was limited to the users of mobile payment platforms in the Greater Jakarta area, and the data were collected using online questionnaires (n=144). The data in this study were examined using quantitative research by utilizing the SEM-PLS analysis. This research found that Social Influence, Hedonic Motivation, and Trust directly and significantly affected Behavioral Intention, while Effort Expectancy, Perceived Security, and Performance Expectancy had an indirect relationship with Behavioral Intention. Finally, the adjusted R2 of Behavioral Intention in this study is 71.6%. The results of this study contributed to the ongoing discussion on mobile payment adoption as the next digital disruptor by incorporating two important user privacy constructs.

A growing interest in Socially Assistive Robotics in Physical Rehabilitation is currently observed; some of the benefits highlight the capability of a social robot to support and assist rehabilitation procedures. This paper presents a perception study that aimed to evaluate clinicians’ and patients’ perception of a social robot that will be integrated as part of Lokomat therapy. A total of 88 participants were surveyed, employing an online questionnaire based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). The participants belong to two health care institutions located in different countries (Colombia and Spain). The results showed an overall positive perception of the social robot (>60% of participants have a positive acceptance). Furthermore, a difference depending on the nature of the user (clinician vs. patient) was found.

Purpose: This study aims to examine the factors affecting caregivers’ acceptance of the use of wearable devices by patients with dementia by extending the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model with 2 additional constructs: resistance to change (RC) and technology anxiety (TA). Methods: A structured online questionnaire was developed and distributed to caregivers who have either dealt previously with or were currently taking care of patients with dementia in sub-Saharan Africa. The selection of countries for the study was purely based on the availability of caregivers of patients with dementia and their readiness to take part in the survey. Questionnaire data from 350 respondents were analyzed and the hypothesis tested using partial least squares based on structural equation modeling. Result: The results of the extended model show that social influence, effort expectancy, facilitating conditions, and behavioral intention (BI) all had P < .05, thus were statistically significant in explaining the perceived BI and actual use of health-care wearable devices among patients with dementia as reported by caregivers. However, P value for RC and TA was greater than .05, hence were insignificant.

Peer-to-Peer (P2P) lending platform is relatively new to Indonesian market and it managed to dominate Financial Technology in Indonesia by 2019. This fast growth is influenced by simple borrowing and lending activity regulation compared to more traditional markets like banks. Most of previous studies had been focusing on borrowers’ side whereas the lender's side was minimally highlighted. Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2) is used to analyze key factors that affect the usage of P2P Lending with addition of trust and risk. This research used SmartPLS to calculate the effect of each variable and found that effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating condition, trust, and risk have positive effects on lenders intention to use the P2P lending platform

This article analyzed the existing relationships between the variables present in the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology - UTAUT, in the context of using the social network Facebook as a technology to support studies among students of the Undergraduate Course in Business Administration at the Federal Institute of Espírito Santo IFES - Guarapari Campus. To achieve its purpose, after collecting quantitative data, structural equation modeling was used as an analysis tool using the method of Partial Least Squares - PLS-SEM. The results obtained demonstrated that there is an intention of use behavior by the students around 63%, where the constructs Anxiety, Attitudes and Performance Expectations were described as acceptable in the adapted UTAUT model.

ABSTRACT With the total quantity of data doubling every two years, the low price of computing and data storage, make Big Data analytics (BDA) adoption desirable for companies, as a tool to get competitive advantage. Given the availability of free software, why have some companies failed to adopt these techniques? To answer this question, we extend the unified theory of technology adoption and use of technology model (UTAUT) adapted for the BDA context, adding two variables: resistance to use and perceived risk. We used the level of implementation of these techniques to divide companies into users and non-users of BDA. The structural models were evaluated by partial least squares (PLS). The results show the importance of good infrastructure exceeds the difficulties companies face in implementing it. While companies planning to use Big Data expect strong results, current users are more skeptical about its performance.

Abstract Background Hospital electronic information management systems (HEIMS) are widely used in Ghana, and hence its performance must be carefully assessed. Nurses as clinical health personnel are the largest cluster of hospital staff and are the pillar of healthcare delivery. Therefore, they play a crucial role in the adoption and assessment of HEIMSs in Ghana. This report sought to assess the “Social Influence” (SI) and “Facilitating Conditions” (FC) that support Nurses’ Acceptance of HEIMS in Ghana using the “Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology” (UTAUT) model. Methods This study applied a non-experimental survey design. An electronic platform questionnaire on smartphones was used to collect data on 660 nurses. Statistically, AMOS Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) version 22.0 was employed to examine the research model. Results “Behavioral Intention” (BI) to HEIMS use was significantly predicted by SI and FC (p < 0.001). Notably, both SI and FC had an influence on nurses’ use behavior (UB) with behavioral intention (BI) as the mediator, which explains a total of 42.1% variance in the intention of nurses to use HEIMS. Likewise, UB of HEIMS was also significantly predicted by SI (R2 = 43.2) and BI (R2 = 0.39.6) with both constructs explaining a total of 51.7% of the variance in nurses’ acceptance to use HEIMS. Conclusion Nurses’ adoption of HEIMS in terms of the UB was influenced by SI and BI, whiles SI and FC had the strongest influence on BI (serving as mediator) of UB to adopt and use HEIMS among the nurses in Ghanaian hospitals.
