Bitcoin, as the first decentralized cryptocurrency, pioneers the cryptocurrency markets, both in terms of market capitalization and scientific interest. In this paper, we performed a comprehensive bibliometric study of the Bitcoin-related literature. Using the Scopus database, we created a sample that comprises 4495 documents written in the 2011–2020 period. Furthermore, we provided insights about dimensions such as the change in the number of publications over the course of years, the main research areas, types of published documents, most important platforms and sources of Bitcoin publications, highly cited studies, productive authors, author’s countries, and finally main funders of Bitcoin-related research. Lastly, our bibliometric study manifests the current state and future path of Bitcoin literature from distinct perspectives.

Blockchain is a path-breaking paradigm, and cryptocurrencies are one of the main application areas of Blockchain technology. Bitcoin leads the cryptocurrency markets, both in terms of market capitalization and in scientific interest. “Open Innovation” activities are of crucial importance in the Research and Development (RD) department, especially for survival among enterprises in the competitive nature. There has been an increasing interest in “Open Innovation”. However, the rate of interest has yet to be measured by publications trends. This study aims to demonstrate the trends of “Open Innovation” from 2012 to 2017 and highlight the key-phrases for the selected topic. In this bibliometric study, a total of 3,567 publications were investigated in the SCOPUS database using SciVal platform. The concept of “Open Innovation” has received considerable attentions since 2003, and the highly cited paper was published by Chesbrough. The top 50 key-phrases by relevancy indicated the importance of “Open Innovation” and other emerging research areas, giving a guideline for future research.

Nowadays, enterprises have to be good for society, to take care of the environment, and to achieve profit at the same time. And the closed-loop supply chain helps them being so. However, there is a lack of bibliometric and visualization research in the area of “Closed-Loop Supply Chain”. Thus, this research aims to present a bibliometric overview to define the current state of scientific production regarding “Closed-Loop Supply Chain”. The review of 807 publications from the Scopus database (1995–2020) was conducted. Two combinations of words with the logical operator (“supply chain” AND “reverse logistics”) were used. The “title, abstract, keywords” field of search in the Scopus database was done. The visualization of the results was made using VOSviewer program to graphically map the material. The study used the co-occurrence of keywords and co-authorship (country) analyses. As a result, the most productive authors and journals were defined. The most cited studies were determined. Country clusters and keywords (co-occurrence) clusters were represented. The obtained results of the analysis and graphical presentations are relevant, and they form the basis for a better understanding of the concept of Closed-Loop Supply Chain.

Background: In recent years, due to its complexity and relevance, academic performance has become a controversial research topic within the health and educational field. The main purposes of this study were to analyze the links between publications and authors via citation networks, to identify the different research areas and to determine the most cited publications. Methods: The publication search was performed through the Web of Science database, using the term “Academic Performance” for a time interval from 1952 to 2019. The software used to analyze the publications was the Citation Network Explorer. Results: We found a total of 16,157 publications with 35,213 citations generated in the network, and 2018 had the highest number of publications of any year. The most cited publication was published in 2012 by Richardson et al. with a citation index score of 352. By using the clustering function, we found nine groups related to different areas of research in this field: health, psychology, psychosociology, demography, physical activity, sleep patterns, vision, economy, and delinquency. Conclusions: The citation network showed the main publications dealing with the different factors that affect academic performance, and it was determined that psychological and psychosocial factors were the most relevant.

Background: The aim of the research was to acquire knowledge as to how the development of scientific publications looks, while also to specify the scope of research on the area of ski tourism. The research process is concentrated on the following research questions: In what way has the scientific output developed in the field of research on ski tourism? Who is the principal participant (countries, universities, authors, titles of sources) in the accumulation of research in a particular field? Method: In the process of selecting the test sample as a source of bibliometric data the Scopus database was applied. The test sample (N=1500) consisted of publications that contained such phrases in their works as “ski tourism”, “ski hotels”, “ski resorts” in their titles or key words. A general profiling of publications was conducted in order to assess the trends in scientific output and the acknowledgement of the leading co-workers in the field of research. MS Excel was applied for the purpose of supporting the process of analysis and the visualization of results. Results: The analysis indicates that research on ski tourism is one of the aspects of great tradition. This has gained increasingly great interest among academic environments, which led to the breakthrough growth in the number of publications in 2006 indexed in the Scopus database. This publication output encompasses 26 research areas. Conclusions: The principal areas yielding the largest number of publications with regard to ski tourism are to be found in social sciences and science on the environment. The main authors and co-authors in this field are as follows: representatives from the EU and the USA, while the most productive research institution is Universität Innsbruck. The author of the greatest number of publications is Prof. Daniel Scott (University of Waterloo, Canada). The EU is one of the main sponsors.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to analyze the bibliometric characteristics of articles on innovation systems published in Scopus-indexed journals by authors with Indonesian affiliations from 1998 to 2019, in comparison with those published by authors from Singapore and Malaysia.Methods: We conducted a bibliometric and content analysis of publications in the Scopus database. A total of 138 articles from Indonesia, 209 articles from Singapore, and 309 articles from Malaysia were analyzed. They were classified by publication year, authors, co-authors’ country, affiliation, keywords, and journal title.Results: Authors with affiliations from Malaysia were more productive than authors from Singapore and Indonesia during 1998 to 2019. In terms of the quality of papers, Singapore had more productive authors than Malaysia and Indonesia based on the citation frequency.Conclusion: Although fewer articles on innovation systems were published by authors from Indonesia than by those from Malaysia and Singapore, the recent increase in the number of publications by Indonesian authors suggests that number of articles from Indonesia will soon surpass those from the other two countries. International collaboration will help accelerate the number of publications.

This article reviews the past-to-present academic literature on artificial intelligence (AI) in journalism. Over the past years, these technologies have attracted the sufficient attention of researchers from various fields of scientific study producing a large number of publications. We have reviewed academic articles published between 2015 and 2021 to provide understanding of the current state of the research on AI in various research areas including journalism. The corpus was gathered by searching publications in two international databases, Scopus and the Web of Science (WoS). 70 empirical studies were selected on the basis of applying AI to journalism. Each article was categorized according to the type of database, period of time, the country of publication, the field of study and the frequency of citations. The applied method of quantitative research allows tracking the development of research within six years in the field of automated journalism. Finally, we put forward several proposals for further research in this field.

Halal tourism has grown in popularity due to the rise of the Muslim population; howbeit it is still a relatively new field. This study aimed to evaluate halal tourism’s publication trends, research areas, prolific sources, most cited documents, co-authorship concerning authors, institutions and countries, and keywords co-occurrence. Using the Scopus database, 118 halal tourism publications were disseminated between 2010 and 2020. This study found an increase in halal tourism in 2018, and the rate increased to 42 in 2020. It can be construed that halal tourism draws in a variety of research areas. Indonesian scholars have been contributed to 26.42% of the overall publications, which leading 34 other countries. Authors’ keywords of ‘Islamic tourism’, ‘Muslim tourists’, ‘halal hospitality’, ‘customer satisfaction’, ‘halal certification’ and ‘religiosity’ have substantially impacted the online search for information. This bibliometric study offers a comprehensive and in-depth glance at halal tourism, which could aid industry and academia.

Historically, telemedicine research is predominantly published in discipline-specific telemedicine journals. However, in recent times the number of publications on telemedicine in clinical journals has increased. Acceptance of telemedicine research by clinical journals indicates a maturing of the telemedicine field. This bibliometric study reviewed telemedicine-related literature published in clinical journals from 2008 to 2018. A search was conducted in PubMed using two types of clinical outlets. (1) Top 20 journals with highest Impact Factor in the field of Medicine. (2) Top five journals with highest Impact Factor in most common Medical Specialty Areas. Analysis showed that there is a steady growth of literature relating to research and non-research publications appearing in clinical journals. Top five journals in the field of Medicine – BMJ, JAMA, Cochrane database, Medical Journal of Australia and Lancet have published 64% ( n = 270) of telemedicine-related articles for the study period. Disease areas associated with telemedicine publications are consistent with global disease priorities. The review demonstrated that the most significant increase in telemedicine research published in clinical journals was focused on patient care.
