In today’s business environment, different factors make product return and product recovery increasingly more important in order to recover value and increase the company’s profitability. In such an environment, where sustainability concerns and awareness of environmental responsibility in industrial production has considerably grown, reverse logistics (RL) becomes more relevant and, thus, its correct management using suitable information systems (IS) is fundamental. Nevertheless, today’s IS in general, and in Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) in particular, are developed based on conventional logistic processes that do not contemplate the specific characteristics of RL. The main objective of this work is to analyze the functional requirements of an IS to manage product recovery processes that serve as a guide to develop a suitable ERP for RL. The research methodology has been conducted with a qualitative approach, through which the main specific requirements that an IS must meet to manage RL have been stablished, and a data model for the development of solutions to the requirements identified in an ERP system has been proposed. For the development in the ERP it is recommended to start with the requirement of RBOM (Reverse Bill Of Materials) management, since it is the most complex development and has a greater relationship with the rest.

The conventional way of using the Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) applications is inadequate for the highly dynamic, complex and demanding business environment. The efficient use of the ERP system relies heavily on the know-how, experience and quality of the users. Since the knowledge of operating ERP system is difficult to be acquired, shared and diffused among the users, it takes time and money to train well-experienced users. As a result, this paper presents a framework of Knowledge-based Simulation System for Enterprise Resources Planning named KBSimERP. The KBSimERP provides an integrated learning environment for achieving three perspectives, which includes the knowledge acquisition, knowledge diffusion and performance measurement perspectives respectively. Hence, a prototype of the KBSimERP is built for production planning and control, and the performance of the system is preliminarily evaluated. Satisfactory results are obtained.

The definitions of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) vary from country to country and industry to industry, each country or region has their own definition which depends on who defines it and where is utilized. SMEs play an essential role in most economies, particularly in developing countries. Many large enterprises depend on SMEs (Startups) for their supply chain; thus, SMEs need to adopt Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) systems more and more. Since ERP system adoption is a challenging project in SMEs, the main purpose of this article is to propose an ERP implementation roadmap for SMEs. This work proposes a road map for ERP implementation in SMEs. It consists of three major stages and eight phases. Titis Sempurna is a company engaged in oil and gas, which has implemented an ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning) system. website-based which means the system can be used where I am and anytime, but website-based ERP systems have weaknesses, the possibility of the system being hacked by hackers because everyone can find out the address of the ERP system in PT.Titis Sempurna. This certainly can lead to concerns of users of ERP systems that include parts of accounting, purchase, warehouse, and human resource development (HRD), because the system cannot be guaranteed security. other than that the ERP system is also too complex and difficult for users to understand as in the purchase user often experiences constraints when the user wants to import PO data. This happens because the use, implementation and integration of the ERP system is difficult to apply in a company and therefore the need for usability testing to measure the quality of the ERP system is done so that the level of usability or usability of the system is expected and later the results of this research are expected later can provide usability or system usability which includes Learnability, Efficiency, Memorability, Errors, and Satisfaction ERP systems for the future.

The purpose of this paper is to identify the critical soft factors affecting the successful implementation of enterprise resources planning (ERP) in Egyptian manufacturing companies. The data analysed in this paper were collected from a questionnaire mailed to 100 manufacturing companies that implement ERP system in Egypt. The manufacturing companies are coming from three different industries: Automotive, Leather and Chemical industries. The questionnaire was directed to production, human resources, and maintenance managers. The findings of this study indicate that Training and User support has a weak impact on the successful implementation of ERP in Egyptian manufacturing companies because training programmes are not efficient for ERP systems. Additionally team support has a negative impact on the successful implementation of ERP teams decrease performance of people and they have weak relationships. Finally, avenues for future research are recommended, such as the applicability of the proposed scale which will require further on different countries and types of industry.
