As the use of live-stream marketing by corporations to sell products is increasing, the sustainability of this marketing model has been a controversial topic in recent years. In this study, we propose that live-stream marketing can be used as a sustainable strategy to improve the relationship between customers and the companies endorsed by broadcasters. Based on signal theory and the framework of “affordance--psychological outcome--consumer behavior”, this study answers the question from the perspective of virtual gift visibility, and finds that social presence and self-esteem serve as mediators, and self-monitoring personality as a moderator, of the relationship between online visibility of virtual gifts and green purchasing. Our research model was tested using structural equation model analysis. Data were collected from 552 users of Chinese live streaming platforms in China, and it was found that online gift visibility of live-stream marketing can be used as a sustainable strategy to stimulate customers’ purchase intention. Social presence is a full mediator of the relationship between the online visibility of virtual gifts and green purchases. Furthermore, self-monitoring personality moderates the relationships among the online visibility of virtual gifts, social presence, and green purchase intention. Our research not only extends the understanding of online gifts as a link between consumers and broadcasters, but also clarifies the process of how online gifts lead to green purchase intention.

Hong Kong has been known as a shopping paradise that attracts tourists from all over the world. However, in recent years, the retailing industry in Hong Kong has fallen into dire straits and it will be facing more challenges in the future. Therefore this research aims to study the determinants affecting consumers’ purchase intention in the retailing industry in Hong Kong. There are five variables proposed. The independent variables include value-driven motive of CSR and perceived CSR. The dependent variable is purchase intentions. Corporate reputation and consumer trust are both independent and dependent variables. Quantitative research method was used. Data was collected in Hong Kong with convenience sampling method in collecting responses from all adults. Online questionnaires using a 5-point Likert scale are distributed through social media. The questionnaire encompassing 22 items in measuring the five constructs in this research model, eventually, there are 249 effective responses applied in this research. Partial least squares structural equation model (PLS-SEM) shows that five out of six hypotheses are found to be supported except the hypothesis concerning the relationship between value-driven motive and purchase intention. The research reveals that there is a positive relationship between perceived CSR, corporate reputation, consumer trust with purchase intention. At the same time, perceived CSR is positively related to corporate reputation, and corporate reputation is positively related to consumer trust. The research gives a good theoretical framework to further research especially in CSR. For managerial issues, retail managers are recommended to identify and promote CSR activities that best reflect their particular product or service. This will ultimately benefit Hong Kong's retailing industry as a whole.

Purpose: This paper tries to find out the effect of single vs. multiple possession and usage of frequent flyer programme by frequent passengers on their re-purchase intention behavior in India.  Design/methodology/approach: This paper tested the hypotheses, whether the variations in possession level of frequent flyer programme influences the relationship among the selected antecedent variables such as passengers’ satisfaction with the loyalty programme, passengers’ level of trust in the airline and the perceived brand image on the re-purchase intention behavior of frequent passengers. A structural equation model depicting the re-purchase behavior of frequent flyers were developed and tested. Findings:  There exists an overall statistical validity of the model build-up by using structural equation modeling.  Significant differences are observed in brand and trust variables in influencing re-purchase intention behavior of frequent passengers. This finding was further verified in correspondence to the variations in loyalty programme status and possession levels of loyalty programme memberships.Practical implications: Re-purchase behavior of passengers holding single and multiple loyalty programme memberships were compared and drawn implications for the airlines to guesstimate re-purchase intentions of regular passengers. Originality/value: The empirical findings of this study proves that there is a tendency to shift from single to multiple possessions of airline loyalty memberships while the frequent passengers progress on their travel needs.  This study proclaimed that passengers possessing single loyalty programme are more influenced by brand image of the airline where as passengers using multiple loyalty programmes are by and large accustomed by means of the trust in the airline services than its brand image.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of online service quality of e-commerce websites on customer satisfaction and purchase intention. The study identifies the dimensions of e-service quality on the basis of the literature review, which are website design, reliability, responsiveness, trust, and personalization. A survey of 278 avid users of three popular websites was taken to validate the model. The reliability and validity of the questionnaire were checked through the measurement model and the structural equation model was used to confirm the relationship among the dimensions. The result shows that trust is the only e-service quality dimension that significantly influences overall service quality. The relationship between overall e-service quality and customer satisfaction as well as customer satisfaction and purchase intention was found statistically significant.

As a citizen of a country, there is a need to support any local industry that will enhance the country’s economic situation. The execution of the country’s first national project by Perusahaan AutomobilNasionalBerhad (PROTON) in 1985 and Perusahaan AutomobilKedua (Perodua) was an important step towards the improvement of the motor vehicle industry in Malaysia. However, local car manufacturers are struggling to sustain its sales and profit and the need to compete with the foreign made cars. Thus, this study aims to find out how Marketing Activities (i.e. Trendiness, Interaction, and Entertainment) could affect customers’ Purchase Intention and also Brand Trust. A survey was employed to collect data from 253 respondents who owned local made cars or have intention to purchase local made cars around Klang Valley. Majority of the respondents were from Petaling Jaya and Shah Alam area where judgmental sampling was used. A questionnaire which was developed and adapted from previous studies was used to collect data from the respondents using self-administered and online survey method. Data was developed and analysed using structural equation model where results of this study showed that Marketing Activities and Brand Trust does affect Purchase Intention. The analysis also confirms that Brand Trust partially mediates the relationship between Entertainment and Interaction toward Purchase Intention, whereas Brand Trust fully mediates the relationship between Trendiness and Purchase Intention.

This study aims to extend the stream of country image research through an empirical test primarily focusing on the relationship between the green country image of Korea, as well as the green trust and purchase intention of Korean products considering Vietnamese Generation Z (hereafter Gen Z) consumers. Data were collected in November 2019 through an online survey, and 440 data samples were identified and used for conducting the data analysis. The sample was divided into Vietnamese consumers residing in Korea and Vietnam. Firstly, an examination of the variance revealed that Vietnamese Gen Z consumers residing in Vietnam (VZV) displayed less positive perceptions of the constructs measured compared to Vietnamese Gen Z consumers residing in Korea (VZK), including cognitive green country image (CGCoI), affective green country image (AGCoI) of Korea, and also green trust (GT) and purchase intention (PI) of Korean products. Second, results from the structural equation model of VZV showed that CGCoI had a significant impact on the PI, while AGCoI had a significant impact on GT. Conversely, for VZK, it was found that CGCoI had a significant impact on PI, and that AGCoI had a significant impact on both GT and PI. Thirdly, the results of comparing the path coefficient between VZV and VZK showed that the impact of CGCoI and AGCoI on PI were stronger for VZK, whereas the impact of AGCoI on GT was stronger for VZV. Based on these findings, the study discusses practical and theoretical implications for future green marketing practices in Vietnam.

This paper aims to examine the impact of consumer behavior factors on Hallyu consumption in Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, and Mexico. In particular, the paper explores the relationships between cultural, social, and psychological factors and consumer intention (and attachment) in the context of Hallyu attractiveness. To reach our research goal, we conducted a survey and measured each of the factors that impact consumer behavior, the degree of attachment toward Hallyu, and consumer or purchase intention. We then analyzed our hypotheses using the structural equation model. The main findings of the study indicate that social influence, motivation, perception, and attitude are strongly associated with attachment and consumption intention not only directly but also when the relationship is mediated by the characteristics of Hallyu attractiveness. We also found that the local culture’s orientation is weakly associated with attachment and consumption intention.
