This article considers the competition between the propagation of traditional product information and innovative green product information, and it proposes a hybrid model with advertisement and promotion strategies. On this basis, an innovation green product information propagation model is developed through the optimization of the advertisement strategies of the adopters of innovative green product information and the promotion strategies of the adopters of traditional product information, according to Pontryagin’s maximum principle to seek the optimal strategies for maximizing the influence of innovative green product information, and using numerical calculations to simulate the propagation state of product information. The results show that advertisement strategies play a decisive role in the propagation of innovative green product information in the market. If the promotion strategies are also considered, the propagation effect of innovative green product information will be more effective.

With the acceleration of product updates and the intensification of product competition, product market strategies become the primary consideration for the enterprises, and the advertisement and promotion strategies are considered the two important strategies implemented by enterprises. This paper considers the enterprises of similar products and substitute, their formation of a competition between traditional products and innovative products, and establishes a mixed node-level information diffusion model to describe the dynamic product diffusion process with complex network theories. We implement advertising strategies for potential buyers who have not obtained product information and implement promotional strategies for those who have obtained product information. In accordance with Pontryagin maximization principle, we seek the best strategy to maximize the impact of innovative products and use numerical calculations to simulate the diffusion state of products. We found that the advertisement strategies play a decisive role in the marketing of innovative products. If product promotion strategies are added, the spread of innovative products will be more effective and more influential.

Online social networks (OSNs) are used to connect people and propagate information around the globe. Along with information propagation, rumors also penetrate across the OSNs in a massive order. Controlling the rumor propagation is utmost important to reduce the damage it causes to society. Educating the individual participants of OSNs is one of the effective ways to control the rumor faster. To educate people in OSNs, this paper proposes a defensive rumor control approach that spreads anti-rumors by the inspiration from the immunization strategies of social insects. In this approach, a new information propagation model is defined to study the defensive nature of true information against rumors. Then, an anti-rumor propagation method with a set of influential spreaders is employed to defend against the rumor. The proposed approach is compared with the existing rumor containment approaches and the results indicate that the proposed approach works well in controlling the rumors.

This paper aims at the phenomenon of information selective propagation based on historical memory. A network model with memory strength and edge strength is established. The information propagation model with memory-clustering ability is designed with SIR model. And unsupervised learning is introduced to modify the performance. Based on the new network model, the core network and critical path that play a key role in the information propagation are found through the K-shell decomposition method. The research shows that the memory network contains an inertial channel for information propagation, it makes information propagation smooth. And information is selectively propagated in the new network, information is more inclined to propagate between nodes with powerful memory strength and close connections, in other words, people are more willing to propagate information to old friends who have been in contact for a long time instead of new friends.

This chapter introduces a preference-based recommendation procedure in a green product information retrieval system. It constructs a green information management system based on data mining technology. Green products and relevant green regulations were collected and then integrated in a content-based and collaborative filtering method to provide a preference-based query interface for green products. It is hoped that the proposed system offers consumers a green information platform when they are considering buying green products. Our proposed system recommends the best possible choices for consumers that indicate a green preference. Besides serving as a green information retrieval for the consumers, the system also assists the product designers with understanding the preference some consumers have for green products and the satisfaction they get from buying these products.

In real life, the propagation ability of the information disseminator is one of the important factors which is determined to propagate information. The influence of the node, which is altered with time, is proposed to reflect the propagation ability of the information disseminator for the significance of the information propagation in the actual situation in this paper. Therefore, the influence of the node is divided into the high-impact node and the low-impact node. Furthermore, the SSIR information propagation model is proposed and the dynamic BA scale-free network is constructed to carry out evolution of node impact based on secondary propagation experiments. The experiment results indicate three stages, including the initial stage, the rapidly rising stage and the stable stage. The propagation details of the different messages are distinct. However, the trend of propagation is similar.

Today's advanced simulators facilitate thorough studies on Vehicular Ad hoc NETworks (VANETs). However the choice of the physical layer model in such simulators is a crucial issue that impacts the results. A solution to this challenge might be found with a hybrid model. In this paper, we propose a semi-deterministic channel propagation model for VANETs called UM-CRT. It is based on CRT (Communication Ray Tracer) and SCME—UM (Spatial Channel Model Extended—Urban Micro) which are, respectively, a deterministic channel simulator and a statistical channel model. It uses a process which adjusts the statistical model using relevant parameters obtained from the deterministic simulator. To evaluate realistic VANET transmissions, we have integrated our hybrid model in fully compliant 802.11 p and 802.11 n physical layers. This framework is then used with the NS-2 network simulator. Our simulation results show that UM-CRT is adapted for VANETs simulations in urban areas as it gives a good approximation of realistic channel propagation mechanisms while improving significantly simulation time.
