Functional drinks are intended for systematic consumption as part of food rations; they preserve and improve health, as well as reduce the risk of developing certain diseases. Functional drinks contain ingredients that have the ability to have a positive effect on physiological functions and metabolic processes in the human body. The functional ingredients of alcohol-free beverages are: vitamins, macro- and microelements, dietary fiber, organic acids, phenolic and other compounds. Functional drinks include non-alcoholic energy drinks, fortified juices and sports drinks, therapeutic and therapeutic-table mineral waters.

The efficiency of using natural triterpenoids, a complex of organic acids, introduced plants, microgreens, coniferous chlorophyll-carotene paste containing the necessary physiologically functional ingredients that increase the activity of the vital processes of the human body, has been substantiated. Technological modes of production have been optimized, rational dosages and combinations of components have been determined when creating recipe compositions of food products with specified nutritional and functional properties; revealed their positive impact on quality indicators, safety and shelf life of finished products.

In this work, the influence of the complex of organic acids "BiSAlTek" on the morphological and biochemical parameters of the blood of poultry was studied. The positive effect of the acidifier on the increase in red blood cells, as well as on the level of metabolic processes, due to which there was a more intense increase in body weight. The supplement had an anti-inflammatory (by changing leukopoiesis) and hepatoprotective effect on the poultry body.

With the increase in world food demand, the output of agricultural by-products has also increased. Agricultural by-products not only contain more than 50% dietary fiber but are also rich in functional metabolites such as polyphenol (including flavonoids), that can promote animal health. The utilization of dietary fibers is closely related to their types and characteristics. Contrary to the traditional cognition that dietary fiber reduces animal growth, it can promote animal growth and maintain intestinal health, and even improve meat quality when added in moderate amounts. In addition, pre-fermenting fiber with probiotics or enzymes in a controlled environment can increase dietary fiber availability. Although the use of fiber has a positive effect on animal health, it is still necessary to pay attention to mycotoxin contamination. In summary, this report collates the fiber characteristics of agricultural by-products and their effects on animal health and evaluates the utilization value of agricultural by-products.

Evaluation of the competitive potential of the developed functional bakery product enriched with the food additive Apple was carried out. The un-enriched bakery product was as a standard. The competitive potential of the developed product (DP) was evaluated by five groups of indicators: functional efficiency, safety, standardization, reliability, and patent and legal. It is shown that DP has a higher competitiveness compared to the base product: it exceeds the base product in terms of functional efficiency, in particular in terms of the content of food functional ingredients dietary fiber, copper, potassium, and the range of functionality (Qrel 1,5). DP is also superior to the base product in terms of patent and legal indicator (Qrel 2,0) and reliability (Qrel 1,5).

Relevance. The study of alternative non-drug methods of rehabilitation therapy is an important task in the preventive direction of rehabilitation medicine. An important role in rehabilitation measures to prevent relapse of nephrolithiasis is therapy with the use of balneological therapeutic factors. The purpose of the study is to increase the effectiveness of rehabilitation therapy in patients with chronic pyelonephritis with the use of Serebryaniy klyuch mineral water. Materials and research methods. The basis of the work is the analysis of data from examination and treatment of 48 patients with chronic pyelonephritis in the phase of latent inflammation. All patients included in the study were divided into 2 groups. Patients of the 1st group (n = 23) were prescribed antibacterial, antispasmodic, herbal medicine and drinking fresh water. In addition to standard therapy, patients of the 2nd main group (n = 25) were prescribed 300350 ml of Serebryaniy klyuch mineral water 3040 minutes before meals up to 2 liters per day at a temperature of 3940 C. Results. In patients of the 2nd group in 91.4% of cases, curation of the clinical signs of the disease was noted, pathogens were eliminated in 100% of patients. At the same time, normalization of cytokine homeostasis and humoral immunity was observed, which contributed to a decrease in interstitial edema and normalization of renal vascular tone. Conclusion. The internal intake of Serebryaniy klyuch mineral water in the rehabilitation therapy of patients with chronic pyelonephritis has a positive effect on the elimination of the clinical manifestations of the disease, increases the percentage of sterile urine culture, improves the basal blood flow in the kidneys, the immune status of patients, the cytokine profile of blood serum and there by increases the duration of the full clinical and laboratory remission in this category of patients.

In this paper, we conceptualise the human body as infrastructure, asking what kind of infrastructure it currently is and what kind of infrastructure it could be. We therefore tease out the historically and geographically specific ways in which human bodies have been (re)produced as infrastructure, emphasising the violence of abstraction in capitalist modernity that transforms the productive body into a technology of calorific inputs and outputs. Nevertheless, through demystifying abstract labour we point to the relations of (re)production (needed for the body’s ongoing repair) and the metabolic processes (responsible for both decay and repair) that are subsumed within a broader capitalist system of accumulation. In so doing, we turn to the immanent contradictions and struggles that resist the body’s production as a one-sided technology of circulation and through which it is, and can become, an infrastructure for life and sociality.

The huge interest in the health-related properties of foods to improve health has brought about the development of sensitive analytical methods for the characterization of natural products with functional ingredients. Greek olive leaves and drupes constitute a valuable source of biophenols with functional properties. A novel ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography–quadrupole time of flight tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-QTOF-MS) analytical method was developed to identify biophenols through target and suspect screening in Greek olive leaves and drupes of the varieties: Koroneiki, Throumbolia, Konservolia, Koutsourelia, Kalamon, Petrolia, Amigdalolia, Megaritiki, Mastoeidis, Agouromanakolia, Agrilia, Adramitiani and Kolovi. The method’s performance was evaluated using the target compounds: oleuropein, tyrosol and hydroxytyrosol. The analytes demonstrated satisfactory recovery efficiency for both leaves (85.9–90.5%) and drupes (89.7–92.5%). Limits of detection (LODs) were relatively low over the range 0.038 (oleuropein)–0.046 (hydroxytyrosol) and 0.037 (oleuropein)–0.048 (hydroxytyrosol) for leaves and drupes, respectively For leaves, the precision limit ranged between 4.7% and 5.8% for intra-day and between 5.8% and 6.5% for inter-day experiments, and for drupes, it ranged between 3.8% and 5.2% for intra-day and between 5.1 and 6.2% for inter-day experiments, establishing the good precision of the method. The regression coefficient (r2) was above 0.99 in all cases. Furthermore, the preparation of herbal tea from olive leaves is suggested after investigating the optimum infusion time of dried leaves in boiling water. Overall, 10 target and 36 suspect compounds were determined in leaves, while seven targets and thirty-three suspects were identified in drupes, respectively.
